I went there once and had a terrible experience partucularly with the shampoo woman who left me sitting at the sink in the middle of washing my hair to work on other people. She also knocked my earrings off and got soap in my eyes and I was sitting there in an uncomfortable position for more than 20 minutes. The person who colored my hair just dropped all the color from the bottle on my hair at once and just lathered it in like a shampoo. The place was very chaotic and noisy. I just had to leave my review for a number of reasons. I was able to snag an appointment with Elena for a wash, cut and blow style. I was told I could definitely use a Groupon for the original Touch of Class at this location on the phone, but when I got there they did a bait and switch on me, told me the two locations are not affiliated and that they couldn't accept my newly purchased Groupon based on the facts that they gave me the green light on the phone. Elena managed to squeeze me into her schedule, she was busy with two other customers. The haircut she gave me seemed to be exactly that, squeezed me in, then just chopped off the length of my hair and sent me on my way out the door. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice place/ambiance, Elena and the other ladies were all nice to me, but I really got so annoyed when I was ready to use my newly purchased Groupon at the front "desk" without a cash register and they changed the whole story as I was checking out about now NOT accepting Groupon. It took me about two weeks AFTER my haircut to fully get my credit back from Groupon! It was such an inconvenience! They don't accept credit cards here, only cash, checks, Venmo or Zelle, which I don't like to use. read more

I was a client of Lisa's since her first shop was opened on Hillside Avenue. Then I moved to Farmingdale and tried many different salons locally in my neighborhood and no one was like Lisa. So I went back to her. Yes, I travel once a month from South Farmingdale to New Hyde Park to get my hair done. She does my mom's and daughter's hair too. Lisa is knowledgeable and professional. I called for a hair appointment.From the time I spoke to Lisa on the phone .I already feel comfortable that she is the one i Want to take care of my hair. she quickly booked my appointment , Soon as I arrive she was already waiting for Me. When I arrived she greeted me nicely and was ready to take on my hair job. she just asked me what color I had in mind and in a flash she was able to mix the shades together. She applied and and that was it. The staff that washed my hair did a great job also she did not get my shirt wet or no color on my clothes which is a plus compared to other places I've been. Wish I could give it ZERO stars.. I had a keratin treatment done there recently, the treatment itself was ok.. the service i received was not. To make a long story short, very unfriendly and unprofessional. It took FOUR different stylists to do ONE keratin treatment. I was left under the dryer TWICE while the stylist(an owner) who was supposed to be doing my hair took other clients. They definitely forgot about me under there, and once someone realized i was getting frustrated it was always "two more minutes." There was very poor ventilation, my eyes were burning from the treatment and it wasn't until they were physically tearing that they had at least opened the door to air it out. The salon appeared fairly busy but it seems if you are not a friend of the owners/stylists you can expect to get the crappiest customer service a salon has to offer. I will definitely never be coming back here. Save your money, spend a little more and you won't be treated like crap. And they do not take credit/debit cards. read more

A neighborhood treasure It was late afternoon on a December Saturday in 2007. I was driving around my neighborhood looking for a hair salon. I needed fixing. I had roots and bad highlights and a strange cut. I felt bereft as my beloved long time stylist had relocated to another state. I had not been having any success with replacements. I had seen Touch of Class II on my daily ride home from work. The bench outside gave me a warm feeling every time we passed. I peeked in and I asked if anyone could help me. A lovely smiling young woman sat me down and began her work. She kept the shop open for me. Turns out it was Elena. She and Lisa are the owners. I am forever grateful for her kindness that day. I have been a regular ever since. Elena and Lisa are a talented gracious team. All the stylists are professional and caring. The staff is up on the latest techniques and products. My friend started going to this salon maybe 15 years ago (?), and told me how great it was back then. Since then I have never gotten a haircut as good as this place. Long, short, straight never had a problem and always got what I asked for. I live all the way in the Bronx; I have tried 200 dollar salons in manhattan, cheap salons by me, but no one ever ever ever cut my hair like Lisa. This place is a dive. They are always advertising with ridiculously cheap prices in the paper so I figured I needed a trim why not save a few dollars. Totally not worth it. They advertise as a spa/salon meanwhile it is a unisex fancy barber shop. I have long hair so I knew it would be slighlty more than the 9.99 coupon for wash/cut/blowout (they advertised that it would be slighly more). Well when it came time to check out the lady who cut my hair said 'oh I hate those coupons, um, I will give you $10 dollars off instead." So I ended up paying $35 for a horrible haircut. Very inconsiderate and sloppy work by Elena. Last time I was there she did not put a towel under the cape and ruined two new sweaters with hair dye that will never come off. Water kept dripping down my sweaters and she never apologized or acknowledged her errors. She is too busy keeping up with the gossip and does not time your hair treatment so she has to continue guessing on when your hair is done. Also, they do not have a price list so you never know what they will feel like charging. They don't value customers so why bother, dont go! read more

I just went to Touch of Class II for the first time. I called around noon and was given an appointment for the afternoon. The people there could not be nicer. They made me feel most welcome. The shampoo almost lulled me to sleep and and the same woman, Naty, also cut my hair. I love the cut and Naty styled it in a very casual look, which suits me just fine. A blunder I made visiting this place . A disastrous hair cut made by Naty after she was recommended by one of my friends. On entering I asked the reception about the cost which was $15 . Shampoo was done after my hair cut and then blow dry .I was asked to pay 25 ,and then when she told it was 15 Naty said it's what she charges. Didn't want to make a scene ,came out with very bad experience and feeling cheated . Money was not important if the services were good . Advice For the owners ..
