I found Gianni Electric on Yelp, requested a quote on the app over the weekend, they replied quickly with a few extra questions and took down my contact info. They got Alec out the next day for a quote, and he came back the following day for the install. We probably could have gotten the work done a bit cheaper if we went with some self-taught handyman off of thumbtack, and I could have done the work myself (though it would have taken me a lot longer and probably would have made a mess in the process); but plumbing and electrical are two things that are worth paying a professional who has a license and insurance for. The price was reasonable and pretty much spot on what we had guessed it would cost us before reaching out. The whole process was pretty painless, and we'll definitely use them again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends.

Eric diagnosed the problem and had to climb straight up the side of my building on a metal fire escape-type ladder to locate my air conditioner and replace the damaged part. He could not possibly have been more polite and personable, explaining the process every step of the way, showing me the damaged part as well as a new part so I could see the difference. The units on the rooftop were not marked, so he had to work extra hard to locate mine. He wisely took a video of the location of my unit and also noted every identifying detail to put in my records. I called when my furnace wouldn't come on. They talked me into the service contract since the…read moreinitial part discount would pretty much pay for the contract. The technician tried a few parts and said it was the control card. Expensive repair but after I didn't hear back after a couple of days I called and was told they couldn't find the card or suitable replacement so they gave me a $10k quote to replace the whole unit. I asked if it was covered by the warranty since it's only 6 years old and he said they couldn't find any service records so the manufacturer wouldn't honor the warranty. I got a second opinion from another local company and they found a clogged orafice. Once cleared it worked fine and that said this unit will last for years and is still under warranty. Roland Black called a few days later to see if I want to schedule the installation or the new furnace. I explained what happened and asked to cancel my annual service contract and get that money back. She said she would talk to her manager but I have not heard back in about a week. I can't recommend Roland and Black. A friend told me they had a similar experience.
