A special thanks for Alan for teaching me the basics of being an addict in recovery and sharing his story with the class I was in.

ARE YOU WANTING CHANGE? ARE YOU SCARED?…read moreARE YOU STRUGGLING? I said yes to all.... I am now grateful for a group of people striving towards a common goal. 1st steps staff are not career driven, they are purpose driven. Purpose of saving lives one gathering at a time , one class at a time, and most importantly one heartfelt relatable story at a time. The first step into their front door started with a warm welcoming followed with the staff working with my schedule, allowing me to continue being productive, not tampering with my emotional state creating additional triggers. They are solution based! As a lost soul, drinking as an alcoholic for 31 years, while attempting various programs, destroying relationships, and needing change... Finally something worked!!!! The notable staff..... Kim, a friend, a mentor, a leader, a hand out for help, a genius, a warm heart, has been an element of the glue that has kept me stuck in sobriety. My wife looks forward to her words of encouragement and wisdom. Kim I respect tremendously, I'm so happy she has been placed in my life. Sue, soft composition and passion for spirituality helped me grow. Accepting progress not perfection, her way of asking for one to share always allowed the emotional poison to be released. She helped me see my existence, moving in the direction of realization "I am somebody". Mathew, a brother from another mother. Exactly that! A brother to keep it real, provide a share of reality. Things people/I need to hear, helps with my reality check. He encourages the embracement of the situation, and it works.Colleen, respectfully intelligent, well spoken, and dedicated to the topic at hand. The respect she shows, the respect she gets, the respect of education made me sit down and listen. Her flawless presentations were always engaging. She helped/helps my marriage succeed. This is the place to be, to help with a needed Life Change.... The people of First Steps have helped change my life in a positive direction.. The sessions were ways to "Wet my Whistle" for various other avenues and supportive groups to maintain and cope with what comes along with sobriety. I can truly say I love these people. They have been put on this earth for you, you right there reading this!! Make the step, make the 1st step...... You want what we have, than get started, don't wait... I love this place, if asked I'd be honored to share with the world and be their spokes person.... If it worked for me it will work for you. Forever grateful, Brian G

They also forced me to go to the ER rather than just allowing me to leave the facility. The ER doctor was extremely confused as to why I was there considering I was no longer in acute withdrawal. He began cursing repeatedly, called me "irrational," and spoke to me in a way I found completely inappropriate for a medical provider. Regardless of disagreements or frustration, I do not believe patients should be spoken to with profanity or hostility in a psychiatric setting. What also stood out to me was that during a previous visit, he asked if I could leave him a positive Google review because other clients had left negative ones. In hindsight, that felt concerning and unprofessional as well. I understand providers are busy and under stress, but professionalism and respectful communication matter -- especially in mental health care. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this experience.

He helped and reassured me that everything was going to be ok, and that's what had happened. With his care and guidance I'm now living a fruitful loving life! I'd also like to speak about Dr. Ziyar's care when it came time for me to stop taking pain killers (I had a very major back surgery and was completely dependent on them). He was just as helpful if not more. He made me feel unjudged and hopeful!!! I can't thank him enough!!! He's definitely a great Dr. You will not be disappointed in choosing him to be yours.

When I called to confirm my appointment, I proactively offered to provide my new insurance details, and I was instructed to bring the card with me. However, upon arrival, I was informed that a new referral was required despite being an established patient with a point-of-service plan. What was most concerning, however, was the unprofessional conduct I encountered from the front office staff. From the moment I walked in, I was met with rudeness and a lack of knowledge regarding insurance procedures, which further complicated an already frustrating situation. Unfortunately, the office manager was not able to assist me in resolving the issue, and her attitude mirrored the unhelpful and dismissive behavior of the front desk team. Dr. Goswami is an excellent provider, and I have always appreciated his care. However, based on my experience, I believe the front office staff and management need to be addressed to ensure that patients are treated with the courtesy and professionalism they deserve!

At first it felt uncomfortable opening up because it was all new. I didn't understand fully what a therapist exactly does in a session. I always had the idea what they do but to be in one is a lot different for yourself. My experience in therapy has helped me so much mentally. For once i feel heard with no bias and to understand why i think and feel those feelings. Talking with friends or family can be hard because you'll never know what you get. Most of the time they dont know how to help, and can be bias. Having a therapist they are professionally there to help you and listen. I always let my therapist know how grateful I am to have her as my therapist. I definitely recommend coming here.
