I had an absolute blast at Tova's! I went for a holiday offsite and it was such a fun experience. Her studio is so adorable, she has a bunch of reference books for inspiration, molds, stencils, and all source of tools! She is also such a lovely teacher & knows so much about the craft. I also called her after the class to see when my item would be ready and she was so responsive and helpful. My piece ended up breaking in the kiln but I still loved it. I asked her to pick the glaze colors for me and I love how it turned out. 10/10 recommend!

We gathered friends and neighbors and took her hand building class and had such a great experience learning, chatting and making ceramic pieces to remember the day of being together! Once she gets us going on the basics we get right into making and she is there to answer any questions and guide you along the way! I loved it so much I'm still going back during her open sessions!!

I knew I needed something outside of the house that would allow me to focus and have a mental break from the demands of my new life with a baby. From the first class, I painted something I wanted to hang on my wall. Susan's style is unstructured in the sense that there is not a formal topic presented every week. But she takes time with each student during the course of the class so her instruction is extremely customized and individually tailored to each person. She also knows when a student is getting stuck and encourages us to keep going even if we aren't sure about what we are doing. She always says, "oil is very forgiving," and "you can't mess it up." She does stress the importance of the initial drawing and encourages us to follow the same process with each new painting from priming the canvas to completing the drawing in charcoal. Over the last several months, I have seen new students start who, like me, have never picked up a paint brush. Everyone becomes an artist with Susan's encouragement and help. This class is also a lovely community - we all encourage each other and get excited when someone completes a work. I can't imagine starting my Saturday without this class.

This school is a class act…read more I learned more here in a year than they taught my friend with a "Masters" degree in art from her fancy pants art college (diploma mill) she was at for several years. Post graduation (and six figure student load debt) she still can't draw hands. But this place had me off and running in the first two weeks. The teachers were divine. Especially Tim. Not just as artists who truly believed in the methods they learned here and taught, but as human beings who appeared to take individual interest in every student, young or old. Years later, I still look back on these classes with fondness and am considering taking them again along with a new friend who wants to learn basic drawing skills, and maybe even progress to painting. If you stick with the curriculum, you will learn. Practice, and you might be shocked at how quickly you progress. Our class was a short walk from a coffee shop, and quickly became a little group who all looked forward to every class. I miss that enough I am thinking of going back. I felt like I was "getting" the material taught here after about two weeks, but I recommend the Free Class to see if it's for you, and if you like it, at least 4 weeks after that to really have a feel for it. At least that's what it took for me. But after that, I was all in. Like any skill worth having, it takes patience and practice over time. But it's totally worth it! People who can manage to respect class schedules, practice self-discipline and are eager to learn will enjoy this stimulating environment, the teaching methods, the skilled staff, and most likely take joy in their progress over time. Maybe even make new friends here. Maybe even fall in love with it. But entitled parents or choosing beggars who want refunds on FREE classes will probably not enjoy the full benefits or learning experience as they appear to have difficulty getting along with just about everyone based their other reviews. Consider the source before you let it dampen your own enthusiasm for the chance to take pride in your art or that of your child.

My child enjoys the supportive instruction and the ability to chat with new friends who share a common interest in art. The studio is flexible in offering make up classes and different days and times to fit into my child's schedule. The individual attention my kid gets really helps her improve her skills and knowledge. It's always been rewarding to see my child progress from basic drawings to watercolors and now oils. My child attended the art camp for two summers and she loved it. The students always have fun at the art show at the end of class. My child is very proud of her art work, and I am so happy that we found Mission Renaissance!

We loved the experience so much that my husband and I decided to start taking classes too--and it's been one of the best decisions we've made. I definitely did not come into the classes feeling like an artist but have gained confidence and skills. One of the things that stands out most is the incredible team of teachers. We've worked with several of them, and every single one is extremely knowledgeable, supportive, and talented at making art accessible for any level. Whether teaching kids or adults, they have a unique ability to meet you where you are and help you grow. As a family, we've explored so many different mediums--colored pencils, oil pastels, watercolors, acrylics--and we're excited to be starting oil painting soon. It's been amazing to not only try new techniques but to see real improvement in our skills over time. Sara, the studio owner, has been especially wonderful. She's incredibly generous with her time and has worked closely with us as adults to create a personalized plan aligned with our goal of making artwork for our home. That level of care and attention is truly special. Another highlight is the art shows they host, which give students the chance to showcase their work. It's such a fun and encouraging environment where you can meet other artists and celebrate everyone's creativity. We feel so lucky to have found this studio. It's become a meaningful part of our family life, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore or grow their artistic side!

They came to our house for my twins 5th birthday and helped us do a farmers market themed arts & crafts party. They had such cute, original ideas and somehow managed to keep a room full of excited 5 year olds engaged and happy the whole time. The setup was beautiful, everything was organized, and the projects turned out so cute. We had 36 little kids painting in my living room (with white walls) and there was absolutely no mess afterwards. What impressed me most was how much they cared. They weren't phoning it in for "just another party." They even came dressed in theme, which just blew me away. They were hands-on, warm, and clearly wanted it to be amazing for my girls. And it was. I'd book them again in a heartbeat.

Not only does she have an incredible eye for design, but she has the kindest demeanor. Her creative intuition and passion for what she does always brings new and unexpected classes, details and inspiration. Most recently, Piece Art Studio hosted a decoden party for my 9 year old and we all had a blast! Yoorie and her staff took care of all of the planning and brought so many thoughtful, personal ideas (outdid my Pinterest board and saved reels for sure). From the initial inquiry through cleanup on party day, Yoorie was quick to answer any questions, anticipate needs of all the guests, and made the party FUN. No stress whatsoever on my end. She even started an impromptu dance party and game when the kids were getting a little restless at the end. Twinkle lights and great music and we all floated out in the best mood. They are also connected to some great vendors and brought in a lip gloss charm bar that DELIGHTED these kiddos. Me too. I highly recommend Piece Art Studio for parties, workshops, camps and whenever you want to feel inspired!

We know we wanted to do some kind of art party but wanted to be unique. We found that at Art Rebel for a glow in the dark art party. Ponti, the owner, made this birthday so special for our 6 year old and all her friends. From the beginning he was so easy to work with and very communicative. Ponti has kids birthday parties down to a science with different activities planned out that all the kids loved! Him and his team handled it all while we got to relax and chat with other parents. On top of that, we didn't have to worry about goodie bags because all the kids went home with a couple pieces of glow in the dark art that they made. There was a separate, and massive, room for food and drinks so when cake cutting came around it was so easy. Also he made setting up and packing up so easy. If you're looking for something different and special for your kid's birthday, I can't highly recommend Art Rebel Studio enough!

My son's aide (my son is disabled) said it could have been a casino given the smell. This was true for the two days he attended. We won't be finishing the week despite paying for it. Pretty sure smoking inside that building is illegal and definitely shouldn't be allowed right before kids come in. The instructor also left the room entirely several times for 15-20 min. While my son's aide was there, he is not an employee of the camp and should not be responsible for the other children present. Besides those issues, the camp itself was very underwhelming with minimal activities planned beyond drawing. We have done art camps at half the cost that put much more thought into it and didn't lead to lung damage from smoke inhalation.
