TowAway is hands down the best roadside outfit this side of the Mississippi. Our car broke down at the three in the morning on 87. TowAway was called and within the hour they arrived. We were expecting an old bearded fella that would reek of cigarettes and animosity. Instead we were shocked to see young Cody, walking up to the car with a smile on his face and an aura of authentic kindness. He had our car on the rig and ready to go in no time. He brought us to our hotel which would have been enough, but he went the extra mile and helped me unload our belongings from the car (a lot on account of our cross country trip). My Dodge Pick up slid down a side hill between 2 trees. Ryan from the Schenectady Tow Away LLC saved the day. He carefully maneuvered the truck ever so gently, and was able to land it on flat ground, without scratching or denting the truck. Truly amazing professionals. They made a bad day Great. My car broke down and I made the mistake of having it towed to this place - hudson falls location. Mechanics get a bad rep, and it's because of people like this. If you want to get screwed over, lied to, and get taken advantage of, these are your guys. I had a couple of friends look at my car before I had a towed. Both said it would need a new engine. Brought it there, they told me that the engine was fine, and it just needed a new PVC pipe for the oil and would cost me only $100. Great news! Get a call back to say that it's actually going to be $1000 because other parts need to be replaced. Told them I would think about it, but they started taking it apart anyways. Then five hours into the job, called to say that the car actually needs a new engine and would cost about 4K. I told them I never authorized any work beyond the initial $100, and that was for a guarantee that the car would be fixed -- as they claimed. They said they would make me a deal. The deal was: I pay them $500 to have my car back in pieces or pay for another four or five hours of labor to have the car put back together. I told them that was ridiculous since I would be getting nothing out of this other than my car back in worse condition than before it got to them. So they said they would cut me a BETTER deal, and that is for me to pay them ONLY $250 and THEY keep my car for parts. They said if I didn't pick it up, they would start charging me storage of $60 a day and then repossess my vehicle in 10 days. Ended up paying them $300 to get my car back. Now filing a small claims lawsuit. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

My husband & I got a flat as we were driving to our Thanksgiving Vacation destination. We contacted our auto insurance carrier's roadside assistance. They sent Tow Away to assist us. The tow driver came within 10 minutes with a flatbed truck. He told me that he called for a car to pick us up, since it was 4 of us in the car. While waiting the short 3 minutes for the other guy to arrive; our tow driver gave us suggestions on places & numbers where we could get a replacement tire in the area. We located one place & decided to go there to get the tire (even though the guy on phone at the tire place was extremely rude). The other guy showed in no time, helped us pack our bags in the SUV & started us on our way. Once we got to the tire place with the rude guy, our driver suggested one more tire place. This place ended up being $60 cheaper & they could get the tire in the same time frame. They drove us & our car to the new tire place. Waited until my husband secured our tire order, dropped our car, & then drove us to our hotel. These guys were very patient & helpful. Which is what we needed being from out of town & the day before a major holiday. We didn't get their names but they were fantastic!!!! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! read more

Purchased a used 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT on 2/27/19. Test drove it day prior. The vehicle ran great except there was a tire pressure sensor light on. Even after they had warmed the car up and filled it with air. After going thru the buying experience with Tanner Ireland there. I asked for the repair bill that they had to do on the vehicle. Looks like the vehicle was on there lot since 5/19/2018. The bill showed that the rotors all was replaced, even with a fresh oil change. The rotors did not look like they got replaced. Back in September 11th of 2018 looks like the also had to replace the TIPM as well. So this vehicle already seems like a lemon with the work they had to do on it. They purchase these vehicles off from Saratoga Honda Auctions. These are trade ins that fail to meet there standards. Same night I took the car home I noticed the tire pressure light was back on, as well as the headliner in the back was falling down. Brought it in the next day there mechanic took the tires off clean out the dirt from the rims and put bead sealant to fix it. Tanner also fixed the falling head liner. Few days go by and the tire pressure lights came back on. It was winter time so I figured it was the cold weather. Filled the car up with air. Following day the light comes back on. I take it to go put air and the stem from the right passenger side broke off as I was trying to fill it. The car had a spare tire but no jack inside the car. I called Tanner he did send someone out to help get the spare on and promised he'd get me a tire jack which hasn't happened. As they service guy from there company came out to get the spare on he pointed out to me the right rear passenger tire stud was very loose! Huge safety concern! They got me in, Tanner started to ask me questions to pin point if I was at fault for me to front the bill even tho, as I pointed it out before I agree to purchase the issue with the tire pressure. They repaired the tire pressure sensor double checked all tires for any leaks and said I was good to go. I didn't pay for the repair. Around April 3-5th I get a check engine light for code P2017 regarding an Intake Manifold Runner Valve, same time the blend door actuator for the ac started to make a grinding noise. So at this point I'm just shy above the 30 day warranty. I brought it back to them to see if they could help out with the code and the repair. Thinking they would help me out since I just bought the car. No my P2017 code issue wasn't addressed since it went off on its own. The blend door actuator ended up costing $137 to get fixed. Fast forward to March 26th I started to get water leaking into my passenger side floor. Took it in the following day there was pine needles, and leafs built up behind the cowl that it couldn't drain the rain water. Before even giving me the repair quote to fix it, the cleaned it out and charged me $127 just to clean out stuff that was there prior to me purchasing. As I don't park under any trees or pine trees. Without even discussing the repair price. It is something I could have done my self. Very disappointing! The car was way overpriced! Didn't have a key fob with it so every time I had to unlock the car the alarm will go off until I put the key in the car to start it. That was $70 out of my pocket! I've emailed the owner and Tanners boss. No one has responded to me to make this right. Beware of buying cars from here, there over priced and just cars that fail to meet standards to sell on others lots. read more

The cv axle on my van snapped, leaving me and my two passengers stranded 120 miles from home. AAA called Tow Away. The driver, Cody, showed up right away. When he overheard that I was unable to get a rental car to get us home, he offered to return with a larger tow truck so that he could give us a ride. I couldn't believe it! He returned promptly, hitched up the van and we rode in his comfy, immaculately clean truck. When we arrived at the repair shop, which was closed, he took great care to line up the van with the door to the mechanic bay. The following day, the manager of the repair shop commented that he appreciated the way the van was positioned, so the men could just push it straight in.
