A must see bridge while in London! You can actually go up inside of it, but it does cost. You can cross it for free though. And there's many different ways to get to it. We took the Uber Boat ferry which took less than 20 minutes from Embankment Pier. It was a great way to make it down the river.
One of the iconic monument in London is the tower bridge. Definitely truly beautiful and I was happy to be able to get to view this beauty from the upper levels. Buy a ticket at ticket booth as I bought mine from a third party site and paid more. But it's fine, as I enjoyed my visit. Prior to my visit, I was actually downstairs and was able to watch the bridge drawn up and down. And I am so lucky to be there to witness it. Being able to tour the tower bridge, both the west and east wing has a glass bottom floor. Where you can see traffic past by and the bay on the other sides of the bridge. The ticket allows you access to the engine room as well. Which is across the way. There are also short video clips to watch and information everywhere of the history
I know many people think "London Bridge" is a must-see bridge in London, but it's really a yes and no. To be more specific, the best way to see the iconic Tower Bridge is actually from London Bridge (yes, keep in mind that the starting point should be London Bridge). You can get there by bus or tube, and I strongly recommend taking a walk along the Thames. It's only about a 15-20 minute walk between the two bridges, but the views are spectacular and absolutely worth the time. Useful travel tips: 1. Again, it's best to start at London Bridge. 2. Once you reach Tower Bridge, you'll see the Tower of London on your left, another must-visit attraction in London. 3. If time allows, visit the Tower of London. Inside the castle, you'll get stunning views of both the fortress and Tower Bridge. They also house an incredible jewelry collection, which is definitely worth seeing.
Tower Bridge is probably what you are actually looking for when you are thinking of London Bridge. Tower Bridge began construction in 1886 and at the time it was built, it was the largest and most sophisticated bascule bridge ever completed. My boyfriend and I were strolling around London coming from the north side of the Thames River. We walked towards the Tower Bridge and crossed the bridge itself. Photos with the bridge are prettier further away, and not on the actual bridge. Then we continued out stroll on the southside of the Thames River. A lovely walk if you have some time for a stroll.
It was a freezing December night, the kind where the wind cuts right through your coat and makes your face sting, but standing on the iconic Tower Bridge was totally worth it. The massive Victorian Gothic towers lit up against the dark London sky is one of those "pinch me, I'm in the U.K." type of photo ops. The bridge is instantly recognizable. The blue suspension beams shimmer under the lights, and even though the icy gusts off the Thames will leave you shivering in winter, the view from up there is absolutely stunning. The Tower Bridge is one of those places that's cool in photos but feels even more magical when you're actually there, taking it all in. Best of all, there's a nearby Tube station and it's free to walk across. Score!
Tower Bridge is often confused with London Bridge. A lot of people think Tower Bridge IS London Bridge. Today's London Bridge is a purely utilitarian bridge with little significant architectural appeal. So, it's natural for some folks to think that the beautiful (and architecturally significant) Tower Bridge is the famous London Bridge. We saw it from a cruise on the River Thames. We saw it up close and personal as we floated under it. Despite it not being the London Bridge, Tower Bridge is a must see attraction.
I took pics on the southside and the northside of Tower Bridge. Then, we walked across Tower Bridge. Even did a tour through tower bridge and got to see the glass staircase above, and the dungeon below where the coal machines are that used to raise and lower the bridge. Definitely book a tour so you get to see all of the cool stuff. The glass floor atop the bridge is fun to take photos and videos on. We also got on the Uber boat and rode under the bridge on the water. It was really cool to do at night. I paid £65 for 1 adult and 1 concession ticket for the tour. You of course can walk across for free.
Obviously a must see while in London. We were blessed to have decent weather. We walked the bridge on both sides. You could pay a fee and go up in the tower and see the inner mechanisms but we didnt. Our time was limited and my only interest was walking across this famous bridge and enjoying the view of the cityscape. We were actually in the London tower but got bored and left to explore the tower bridge right outside the gate.

A completely amazing tour. Audio tour available through your phone. Use your own AirPods. Excellent information. Take the stairs to see extra information. Glass floor area is unique and fun to see. Excellent and ample areas to take photos. read more
Oh the iconic Tower Bridge. Built at the end of the 1800s, it's often mistaken for London Bridge which is actually across the way and much more anticlimactic to say the least. Tower Bridge is simply stunning and is London's most striking bridge thanks to it's Neo-Gothic architecture and ability to lift it's central sections to allow ships to pass. I would recommend this historic landmark be admired from afar and up close. On our first trip to London, we saw the bridge at night, lit up in all it's beautiful glory. On our second trip, we walked across the bridge over the River Thames and got a closer look at the towers and all the details. Highly recommend doing both if you're able. If you'd like a more indepth tour to learn about the history and go inside the towers, tours are available. I had no desire to go inside and was perfectly happy enjoying the views from the outside. read more
Had pre-booked tickets prior to trip for the iconic Tower Bridge online at £11.40 each person, surprisingly probably the cheapest tickets I've bought this entire trip? Tickets had included lifts to/from the top, but unfortunately on the day of my visit (mid Nov 2022), the lifts were broken, supposed had people stuck inside too SO we had to manually trek up the tower one step at a time (206 steps). Not too bad. Apparently there are two walkways up top which views tie east and west aspects of the Thames River. There are little windows you can slide open that you can stick your camera out for an unobstructed view but BE CAREFUL, if you drop it, bye bye ! In the middle of each walkway, there is a glass portion where you can see straight down to the walking people and cars below (uh not for the lighthearted, meanwhile you have people jumping and laying down on these said glass portions for pictures/videos). There is also restrooms up top too, which is nice (lucky, i needed to go too) Included in the ticket is also the engine room, which requires you to exit the other tower, following a colored pathway down under to where the gift shop is. You would need to present your ticket again as there's a perforated part they rip off. Quite the interesting sight to see (thought not functioning anymore) but I can't imagine how loud it would be down there if it were still running (for some reason, I imagined the movie Titanic and the part where the engine was spooling up and churning away) read more

Tower Bridge is probably one the prettiest bridges in the world. The it's a working bridge so you'll find cars on it and pedestrians can cross on both sides. The access to enter the tower and visit the top is on the west side walkway. If you mess up and go on the east side you'll have to go all the way back to the start of the bridge to cross over. Book your ticket to the to in advance because it is a popular attraction. read more
Doesn't look like it's falling down to me, but then again, it's not the London Bridge, is it? Tower Bridge is the one you're thinking about, the picture you see in your mind, when invoking memories from past visits, or conjuring pictures you've seen in movies or TV shows. I know, I get them confused all the time. I almost wrote this review for the wrong one. Sadly, the actual London Bridge is far less exciting. It's one thing to view Tower Bridge from afar, another thing to walk across it, but a far more fascinating experience to descend into its bowels and see how it all works. I highly recommend the tour through the bridge's interior, which includes a stroll across a transparent catwalk near the top (not for acrophobes, or the faint of heart!), as well as plunging into its depths to stand in awe and wonder amidst the massive mechanisms that bring this bascule/suspension bridge to life. Time it right, and you might be present when the whole thing spurs to life! Truly fascinating. read more

The Tower Bridge is iconic in London and far superior to the London Bridge which is pretty anticlimactic and just looks like a normal bridge. The Tower Bridge is beautiful and provides great views of the Thames River and of the city landscape on either side. The bridge is open to both cars and pedestrians and well worth the walk across (maybe a half mile). Not to be missed when visiting London! read more
I miss traveling so much. Especially internationally. Been thinking about the last time that I was near this beautiful bridge. The Tower Bridge, not to be confused with the London Bridge. It's truly grand and truly stunning. One of those landmarks that you mustn't miss when visiting London. Just as it's known for its' sights, the Tower Bridge is also known for its' heavy traffic. It's bustling from day til' night with both vehicles and pedestrians. The bridge crosses over the beautiful River Thames and is frequented by both tourists and locals alike. Ironically, you'll get the best views of the bridge while you're crossing over another bridge to view it (from The London Bridge). If you have the luxury of actually walking across this beauty, you should definitely do so. But if not, the views alone will still be satisfying enough. Until we meet again. read more

Outside of The Clash's "London Calling," Morrissey's "Hairdresser on Fire" is a song from the good old punk rock and new wave eras that easily reminds me of London. London has several landmarks but none more famous than the Tower Bridge. Built near the close of the 19th century, this is both a suspension bridge and a drawbridge. Spanning the River Thames, it is supported by two massive towers and the deck is accessible to both vehicles and pedestrians. Since it is the most recognizable bridge in London, it is oftentimes mistaken as the London Bridge which is actually located on its west side. We took advantage of the Tower Bridge + The Monument ticket so we got to see the inside of two London landmarks (pre-COVID-19). The tour of the Tower Bridge included the North and South Towers, the Engine Rooms, and the high-level Walkway highlighted by its Glass Floor. Aside from the amazing 100-foot top view, the panoramic sceneries through the glass walls were picture-worthy as well. Whether we were on the north or south banks of the River Thames, the view was nothing short of spectacular. The Tower Bridge is a historic piece of architecture, but it's fascinating to imagine that it's something we've seen in fairy tale books come to reality. The Big Ben was under repair during our vacation so that was a total bummer. There were no scaffolds on the Tower Bridge which made us glad we stayed in the Bermondsey area because the bridge was easily reachable... read more

This bridge is the iconic of London. It is not quite that big or long but it is beautiful. You can pay to go up there to see the inside of the bridge. I decide not to since I just want to explore the outside area. The day I went luckily it wasn't rainy but cloudy. It is cold so make sure you had a coat. There is a walking area and car driving area so you can enjoy both views. It is located next to a castle too. Overall, being here I don't think I will come back to London since there are other country near by to explore. read more
One of the prettier bridges in London. Great site to check out as its nearby to big ben, the london eye, and the tower of london. If you are into landmarks, and architecture I would recommend checking it out and walking across. read more
My boyfriend and I paid 11 pounds to go up to the tower bridge. We had a time slot for 2:30 and quickly went through the line to take the lift up the tower. Once at the top, we had an incredible view of one side of the city. We walked in a loop at the top to see the other side of the river. The tour also took you down stairs to see the old ways the mechanics of the bridge worked. It was a wonderful historical experience filled with facts. There were a lot of stairs involved which was a bit tough. Overall a fun-filled experience at one of London's main attractions. read more
Honestly a tourist activity that could be skipped if visiting London. The entire loop of walking through the tower in the middle of the bridge and the engine room hardly took us thirty minutes total. The bridge itself is open to the public and is worth walking across for views of skyscraper buildings. Our tickets were reserved for 3:50 PM on Sunday, allowing us to skip the long line of people that did not pre-book tickets. Tickets for £11.40 each permits entry into the tower. A lift is accessible for those that need it, otherwise a long flight of stairs is climbed to reach the top where you can walk across a strip of glass floor along the Walkway. It was full of people gazing outside the glass window or sitting on the glass floor and blocking the path. The Engine Room is a separate area on a lower floor that primarily explains how the bridge operates. A diagram illustrates the mechanics accompanied by a couple of displays, of which one was not working. The end also has a history section before leading into the gift shop. Wi-Fi was not working during our visit. read more
An iconic landmark that's free to walk on. You can also take one of the double decker buses to go across the bridge. It's definitely a really cool experience. It's clean. It's gorgeous and it's a famous landmark. You can also buy tickets to go up the tower and get great views and learn more about its history. read more

I've always loved the Tower Bridge and I honestly don't even know why. It is an iconic piece of the London skyline and any to trip to London would not be complete without visiting and marveling at the bridge at least once! I intentionally booked a hotel in this area because I enjoyed getting to see it every day of our stay in London. You can actually pre-purchase passes to walk along the top encased portion of the bridge that has a glass floor so you can look down with some breathtaking views. If you book online in advance it is less than 10 GBP. Unfortunately, we did not have time for this during this trip but maybe next time! We did walk the length of the bridge and enjoyed some fantastic views of the Thames River and other pieces of the London skyline, such as the Shard. You can also look online to find the set times when they raise the drawbridge to let larger vessels pass on by. Yet another thing we were not able to see, but I will definitely see that on my next visit to this incredible city! TL; DNR: Really cool bridge that I like a lot and I'm betting that you will too! ;) 5 stars. read more

11.11.19 A walk to the Tower Bridge after 3 meals within 2 hours. Hahaha It was a very nice walk except it was a very windy cold day. I wrapped myself up like a Chinese dumpling 粽子. This is one of the prettiest bridge I've walked on and it's always nice to take a walk on it. It looks prettier during the night with the lights on but it still looked nice on a cloudy cold day. read more

Tower bridge is one of the iconic landmarks in London. The view of the bridge is best to be on the actual London Bridge so you can take a wonderful photo of the Tower Bridge. Both bridges are across from each other and the distance isn't that far away. It's a beautiful and if you like architecture than I would suggest paying the price and getting a more detailed look of it. If you don't want to than you could always just look at it from a boat tour, or on London Bridge. Some people could take a long time to view bridges but I think it isn't for everyone. So first you will have to see what you would like to do on your vacation trip and how much time you would want to spend on each spot. For us we only did a quick photo from London Bridge overlooking the water with the beautiful boats and also being able to see Tower Bridge. Hope this helps! read more

The infamous landmark that, arguably, can be said defines London as a city. Many mistake this for the London Bridge, as sung in the nursery rhyme, but that is actually an entire other bridge. Came here on an weekday afternoon during the holiday season and was surprised to find that there wasn't a ton of people. The ticket includes a ride on the elevator to the top of the tower, where a walkway overlooking the beautiful James river and other modern building connects the two towers. There's also a a part of the walkway where the ground is laid with glass. There you can take pictures of the activity on the bridge underneath your feet. Overall a fantastic place to visit here in London. Bonus points if you visit when the gate opens to let a ship through which only occurs 5-6 times a week. read more
We were fortunate to visit here on a rare sunny day and had purchased our tickets on line ahead of our visit. We walked right in, were greeted and scanned in ahead of the small line of customers. There is an option to use the elevator up or climb 100+ stairs to the walkways, we chose to use the stairs. The stairs aren't too bad but can be exhausting if you're not used to the workout. The walkways are fun and one has a glass bottom that no one wanted to walk on, including us. It was an easy walk around, some informative posters along the way with photos and helpful employees to answer any questions. The entrance fee also comes with a steam room ticket, we chose to skip this and head onto other sights. Overall Tower Bridge is a a must as this is iconic to London and watching the draw bridge raise for the boats is also a sight to see. The Uber Boat is about a 15 minute walk away and makes visiting the Tower Bridge very affordable and easier than a taxi. Definitely plan an hour here at most and enjoy! read more

From a person born and raised in NY, Tower Bridge is to London as the Brooklyn Bridge is to NYC, and something that I feel should absolutely not be missed (as a tourist or local). After a long drive from Stansted Airport this was such an exciting icon for us to see on our way to our flat. We were lucky enough to be staying close by so we also walked over the bridge and enjoyed the views from the park. You can also visit the museum here which we skipped. The walk and drive over was enough for us to really enjoy this bridge. read more
A must visit when in London. I imagine there must be tons of tower bridges in London, but this one is magnificent and spans the Thames. We walked up to it , from the north banks of the Thames, while it was bathed in the late afternoon sun. It was a sight to behold. Makes you slow down your steps, and take in the sight. We stopped to take it all in.. the ferries cruising up and down the shimmering Thames and this magnificent structure. The area around the bridge is well developed to help us tourists enjoy our time here. There are restaurants, a Tesco express (7-11), pop up bar, street food and coffee shops. Come , sit a little, rest your legs and take in the breeze. We walked over to the South bank for a late dinner, and caught the sunset as we crossed back to the north bank. Stunning views with the London skyline in the backdrop. and of course, we waited till it was dark enough for the bridge to get lit. read more
