Dr Jam seems like a good and competent doctor. However, I feel extremely misled by the office. They told me that they take my insurance but I pay for the visit up front and then my insurance will reimburse me. So I was expecting anything beyond my deductible would be reimbursed. My insurance rejected the claim. A very small portion ($300 out of the $3k I paid) was allocated to Out of Network. I mentioned that the Blue Cross website shows the provider status as "In Network." They informed me that the doctors/providers update their status on the insurance website. So, not only are they misleading patients in office, but also on major insurance provider websites. I inquired with the doctor's office and they told me there is "nothing they can do." So, they have duped me out of thousands of dollars when I could have just gone to a provider that actually takes my insurance. To say I'm unhappy is an understatement. read more

He explained every aspect of the surgery beforehand and did an incredible job. He checked in with me often throughout my recovery and made me feel so much better. He's incredibly knowledgeable and has come up w an amazing treatment for toe fungus! I met w him a month ago and he showed me some of the most mind blowing before / after pics of other patients (with wayyy worse toenail fungus) and their results were SHOCKING! He then performed his laser treatment on me ONCE and put me on a very simple regimen and the results after one month are beyond what I could ever ask for! UPDATE: I didn't think it could get worse, but they are now proven liars and scammers. This can no longer be interpreted as a billing mistake, but as intentional deception... Tower Foot & Ankle has been hounding me with calls all week to pay the bills immediately even after my request to refile the claims. When I asked if they refiled the insurance correctly yet, they said it was not possible and assured me that my insurance must not have covered it. This was not true. THE TRUTH: Today my insurance rep TRIPLE confirmed that I had $0 to pay towards these $3k of bills and that 0% was the patient's responsibility. They confirmed that my deductible had already been met for that year, and confirmed that the provider had filed them to the wrong department and then filed the new ones late so they were denied, and it was now the provider's responsibility to appeal them in order to receive payment from insurance. Esmeralda had told me multiple times that they talked to an insurance rep that said the claims were rejected due to them being within my deductible, and that I was responsible for paying them. The rep I talked to today pulled up my file, and there was ZERO indication of that. They saw that Tower Foot & Ankle had called them 4 times, and that the insurance agent told them each time in a note "I advised them to transfer these claims to the out-of-state department since they were filed incorrectly". They assured me no agent would have said that, since my deductible had already been met that year, proving Tower Foot & Ankle straight-up lied to me in order to get me to get me to pay the bills instantly, so they would not be responsible for having to appeal the claims due to their misfiling. I'm absolutely disgusted. If I had not known there was something fishy going on, and done my due diligence talking hours with insurance agents this week, I would have just paid these scumbags something that was not my responsibility... and was only a product of THEM screwing up their own billing. read more

Lady at the front told me that I will be refunded for my orthotics once they figure out what the insurance company covers. They claimed that there is a non refundable lab fee of about $200 dollars. I came in to drop off another pair of shoes about 2/3 months later to find out they don't know if my claim has been proceed for my refund. I call my insurance company they tell me I'm only response for about a $100 and that they cashed the check on December 5, 2023 and today is January 29, 2024. They are going to over-bill you and not following up at all on anything. Don't trust them. read more

The severe sprain to my left foot was not getting better after 4 days of visiting Kaiser Urgent Care. I left a message for my primary care physician at Kaiser to call me back... still waiting for a return call. Meanwhile, I called Tower Foot & Ankle Surgery, Inc. (TFAS) on Monday to discuss my diagnosis and symptoms and tentatively set up an appointment for a second opinion for this Friday. The following day, Dr. Kamran Jamshidinia, from TFAS, called me just to see how I was doing 3 days prior to my scheduled appointment. What doctor's office does that? In short, he ended up squeezing me in this morning, examined me, gave me a CAM Walker "boot" along with other valuable and pertinent medical advice and information to discuss with Kaiser. DO NOT GO TO ANYONE ELSE FOR YOUR FEET. Seriously. Dr. Jamshidinia is the real fucking deal. I've had issues with my feet as long as I can remember. I finally decided to do something about the painful bunion on my right foot, though I've heard a bunionectomy can go horribly wrong and is often painful. I went to another surgeon to get a consultation, and I was not impressed. He didn't even x ray both feet, one of them was blurry, his office was dirty, and he spoke to me like it was the 1950s and I was just a dumb young housewife who couldn't possibly understand what "metatarsus adductus" is. No thanks. Dr. Jamshidinia couldn't have been any more different from the first podiatric surgeon I saw. His office is clean and chic, and his staff are gracious and accommodating. And he definitely gets all the necessary x days before thinking about taking a scalpel to your foot. Not only did he figure out why I had a bunion only on one foot, but he correctly diagnosed a functional leg length discrepancy that was affecting my gait and beginning to cause lower back and hip issues. He answered my millions of questions, and didn't dumb anything down or dismiss me. His bedside manner is excellent and he is thorough and discerning (before he would consider operating on my foot, he wanted me to get clearance from a rheumatologist because of my Reynaud's. While obviously no one wants more doctors appointments than necessary I'd much rather he make sure everything was alright before operating!). Dr. Jamshidinia performed a bunionectomy on my right foot in January, and I could not be happier with the results. The surgery went perfectly, and my healing is ahead of schedule. Despite his own busy schedule, he has always followed up with me and been on top of my after care. He truly cares about his patients and is at the top of his field. He takes PPO insurance (lucky for me!) and is very accommodating. My only criticism lies with the front desk, who can be confusing and misleading when it comes to matters of insurance and payment, and even a little impatient. Of course no doctor works for free, and I'm so grateful Dr Jam is in network, but there were some issues with the staff continually having out of date insurance information. Ten to twelve visits later, I've only had positive experiences with Dr. Alfandari and his staff. Everyone is always really friendly, they generally run on time, and most importantly, they offer a high level of medical care. It's so refreshing to have a Doctor who takes time to thoroughly explain things to someone who has a *lot* of foot questions. I found some free parking (2 Hour) on Spalding and Olympic- a much better option than the garage underneath. You have to walk a bit, but... it's free. If I could make this a 0 STAR review I would, I've already had 5-6 procedures on my foot for ingrown nails and excluding their insane price for a nail removal, Dr. Alfandari only takes off a small portion of the nail and no matter what, the nail ALWAYS comes back. I ask for a acid removal of the roots and he says to come back if I feel it coming back but by then it's already in too deep!!! I ask fro him to remove the entire nail and he doesn't, and the ingrown nail just keeps coming back while they keep taking my money read more

I had made an appointment because I was interested in laser treatment for my nails. Met with doctor and he was down to earth and straight forward with what he saw going on with my feet. Provided me with options for treatment that laser or meds simply would not resolve on its own. I realized this and appreciated the diagnosis. After 20 + years of not so great nails , i decided to go with surgery for nail removal. The doctor explained everything as he went along with the surgery procedure and tried his best to make me comfortable. The front staff is also very nice and welcoming. They also tried their best to make me comfortable and not scared or anxious . They followed up with me the day after to make sure I was okay. A portion of the procedure can be a bit uncomfortable ( had 9 nails removed) and after care can be a bit too but I do not regret choosing this office for my procedure and care. I went to see Dr. Alfandari for a scar that I have on the bottom of my foot that I've had ever since I was small and was very painful. He explained to me why I had pain and recommended topical for the scarring. (Which has been helping) As well as tips on how to treat the slight athletes foot I have. I had two surgeries with Dr. Jamshidinia on my foot, the first was a bunionectomy and the second was to remove the hardware he had placed in there. The first surgery was a very difficult and painful recovery, so painful I went to an orthopedic surgeon to see if I needed to have something done for it and he suggested to me that the surgery that had been performed was not the most optimal for my situation. My big toe was the problem but since surgery with Dr. Jamshidinia my ankle has been giving me problems. Now for why I am writing this review.... I went back to Dr. Jamshidinia for him to remove the screw because I figured he placed it there and would be the best one to remove it as it's considered a very simple procedure. He wanted to have his associate there "in case he fainted or was unable to perform surgery" and wanted to charge me $850.00 for it. Of course my insurance wouldn't cover that ridiculous claim. I declined to pay or have his associate there but I started to feel like I was in an office that was upselling and I didn't feel cared for as a patient, but as a dollar sign. I wish I had left his office then and there and not gone through with the surgery. I did have the surgery with him and now have uncomfortable lumps and dark spots where he removed the screw. one year later I went to have my feet X-Rayed as I was having bunionectomy surgery on the other foot. The X-Ray showed that BONE FRAGMENT AND METAL PIECES HAD BEEN LEFT IN MY FOOT from Dr. Jamshidinia. I can tell you that I am now recovering from surgery on my other foot by an Orthopedic Surgeon and the difference between the two surgeries is NIGHT AND DAY. I have had no pain following this surgery, and it's clear to me that I should never have been in a podiatrists office for foot surgery. I hope this review is a warning to anyone reading it and considering having surgery with Dr. Jamshidinia. read more
