Went to Chart House in San Antonio for my ma birthday and baby I had a TIME I can't even remember exactly what I ate because I was a little tore up, but just know EVERYTHING was good from the food to the drinks! They were not missing at all. We was in from DC celebrating and definitely acted like it was my birthday lol the whole experience was a good and we really enjoyed everything. I'd absolutely go back!

Came here for drinks but it was AWESOME! They set up right below the tower two weeks ago and the ambiance, drinks, food options, and atmosphere is so worth it. Sareena was very friendly, happy and engaging

First off--don't go. This place is a total tourist trap. There's absolutely nothing else in the area, and you'll end up paying a $20 cover if you park. Depending on what time you go, expect to wait in a long line just to get to the elevator. Speaking of the elevator, that's honestly the best part of the whole experience. The drinks? As of February 20, 2025, happy hour cocktails were $8. I tried the mango mojito--it was just okay. Nothing special. The overall vibe of the place was average at best. If I had to rate it, I'd give it 2.5 stars--only because of the elevator.

This place is a place to view the sunset. It was nice to bring an out of town guest. Only issue is, getting down the tower can take 10 minutes of waiting for the elevator. Server was great! She made sure my mocktail wasn't too sweet. I've had the kimchi calamari before. It's crunchy, but its sauce is like a very sweet gochujang mayo with a sweet reduction drizzle below the fried rice noodles.

This place is a true hidden gem! Their happy hour deals for drinks and food are amazing, especially with the beautiful view from the top of the Tower of Americas! It does not cost anything additional to go up, you just have to pay for what you order! The service is overall good; they can get busy at times so sometimes you'll have to be patient. But everyone is extremely warm and welcoming! They also sometimes have live music towards the end of happy hour!! 11/10 recommend!!

Great place to visit for happy hour M-F (4:30-7pm) for discounted drinks or apps; or any other day of the week for a drink with a view. The bar sits just above the rotating restaurant: Chart House. The best part: you don't have to pay the $16.50 entrance fee for the observation deck and it offers virtually the same views! The bar only showcases about half of SA while the rotating restaurant and observation deck both give you a 360 view. The regular drink menu is extensive and you're sure to find something to quench your thirst. If you visit later in the day, I recommended heading to the seats to the right of the elevator because the sun doesn't set on that side (you won't get the sun in your face) It's also more secluded from the elevators and a little more quiet. FYI: We had to pay $15 for Tower of the Americas parking. You don't pay by the hour, it's just an "all day" rate (at least that's how it was on the weekend we were there)

The views and the cocktails were worth the visit to this bar. I had an old fashioned and a whiskey sour which were both made impeccably by the kindest bar tender. Between the great service and the delicious drinks I will certainly be coming back.

Pros: Great happy hour specials and ambiance. The drinks are fantastic and they really have a great selection on the menus to choose from. Amazing Birds Eye view of downtown San Antonio. Cons: Limited seating. If you aren't there by the start of HH you're going to be waiting a while for a table. Seating is also first come first serve so I have seen disputes over tables/chairs as well. Not enough bartenders to get drinks and orders out in a timely manner. Also their sliders are super plain and dry- not worth trying again.

My pomegranate martini was perfect!!! The butterfly drink they make in front of you. It's strong. But good! The view is nice to enjoy a drink before the next adventure.

Arriving early to the river walk for the Spurs v Warriors game lead us here. Getting to this place is a little hard as you have to find the correct elevator to take and go ALLLL the way to to top of the tower to get to it! Bar 601 is located on the top of the Tower of Americas tower and features a great view of San Antonio and its surrounding areas. We ordered a mango mojito, sangria, and the lettuce wraps off the happy hour menu. The drinks were wonderfully fruity and incredibly cold which was very refreshing given the heat outside but I think it was a little light on the booze (based on how I felt after the drinks). The lettuce wraps were solid, yet messy, and served as a good pre game snack. I would come back for the view and maybe order a stiffer drink.

We went to bar 601 ahead of our dinner at Chart House, our server Erica was welcoming and charming, she shared recommendations and suggestions for drinks, food and things to do in the area and surrounding neighborhoods and cities. Definitely look for her when visiting Bar 601 atop the Tower of the Americas.

Cheesy. Touristy. Pricey (perhaps). Yes. All that. But overall, fun. And what views! Can't beat the views anywhere else in town. Been here several times. Each time it just gets better. They've changed their cocktail menu recently and it's pretty exciting. Our last outing, we had a group of friends from ATX that never been. We took them up and they loved it. We were pleasantly surprised with their fresh cocktail menu . We had several that were pretty stiff, but tasty drinks. We were mostly impressed by their Cocktails for Two. They bring out this canteen looking container and filled it with fruits and aromatics followed by several spirits which they them proceed to mix. Once mixed, the set 3 shot glasses in front of each person, each glass with its own distinct flavor. They then present 3 low ball glasses to each person and start to pour the concoction into each glass. Finally, the shot glass is emptied into each low ball to make your drinks. These cocktails were outstanding!!! Even after all 6 cocktails are poured, you still have alcohol left to continue to make some more. Definitely go check it out. And ask for the Cocktails for Two. You won't regret it. The only drawback is the parking. If you don't want to dish out the cash for premium parking, your options are to park all the way in China and walk back.

Update to first review below, rating updated from a 3 to a 5 star (drinks & bartender would get 10+…read morestars if we could rate that high): Saturday night: Went back for after dinner drinks at the Downstairs (a "speakeasy" throwback, look up the history of the place to see why). Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)
