Nikoo has been treating me for over a year now for a few different medical issues I've been having. I have had a uncommon type of pain during that time of the month and went to a chiropractor, Gynecologist and a natural medicine doctor. Even had an MRI done. I started seeing Nikoo a couple years ago for interstitial cystitis. I've been to numerous doctors, gynecologists, and urologists over the years and no one has been able to help me. I've tried antibiotics, bladder procedures, and various natural remedies to no avail. The only thing that ever seemed to help me was the treatments that Nikoo offered me. This is a long overdue review. As a skeptic, I really didn't expect much out of acupuncture but Nikoo's warm and compassionate nature, along with the great escape from work for a mid day nap session had me coming back. It's hard for me to describe the sort of "rest" I felt with each session. Although it is a short period of time that the needles are in for, I would find myself in a deep REM state, almost as if I was floating. This experience is unlike anything else. Initially I didn't see results right away but as with anything you need to give it time and consistency to see the benefits. I trusted Nikoo in all of her advice, including recommendations on lifestyle changes, types of yoga to do, taking medicinal herbs she mixed for me, and everything else that was beyond the scope of my acupuncture treatment. She has helped me gain my menstrual cycle back which I did not have for 3 years. That is AMAZING in it's own. Nikoo has always been encouraging and understanding, happily answering my 10000 questions and concerns. Now that I am pregnant I still see Nikoo for treatment, including hormonal eczema, nausea, and in helping maintain a happy healthy pregnancy. It has been a long and hard road to get here but I owe so much of it to Nikoo. Also, shout out to Christopher who stepped in when Nikoo was out on maternity, he was also very knowledgeable and had great bedside manners. Guest House Acupuncture is a true healing center. I have suffered for several years with chronic lower abdominal pain. I went to several doctors and specialists, and had all the recommended tests, but they found nothing wrong with me. Nikoo is amazing! I started acupuncture during my 30th week of pregnancy with a different practice and did not have a good experience. I didn't know what to expect as I had never had acupuncture. The first place I went to was horrible, again, I didn't know what to expect but I knew it wasn't right. The lady was always rushing and one appointment would be an hour while the next week 25 minutes with her rushing out the door behind me. I got a recommendation from my doula to try Guest House Acupuncture. I started seeing Nikoo and am so impressed. Such a different experience! Nikoo is calm, doesn't rush anything. I just like being in her presence. There is something so comforting about her. She is also super thorough and explains everything she is doing and why. She also gives great recommendations on things to try for certain pregnancy related ailments. When you first get to the office it's seems very medical as it's in a medical building but once you enter the rooms it's super comfortable and does not feel like a doctors office. After back surgery in December I had horrible lower back pain that was not being managed with prescription medications. It radiated into my legs and made it difficult to walk. Between mid-January and the end of February Nikoo provided acupuncture treatments that were amazingly effective. I really doubted acupuncture would help. But after my very first visit I felt relief. Nikoo's acupuncture works wonders. I was seeing her along with two other acupuncturists depending on my location for the month and Nikoo's demeanor and vibe is so positive and calming plus her office is tranquil with private rooms. However the needles really did their work. sometimes I felt as though they were moving some blockage and other times it was so relaxing. It depends on what you are seeking treatment for -like in my case it is for fertility. After seeing her for 10 months, I finally got lucky with pregnancy. My fertility doctors in the Bay Area said I should consider donor eggs as my body just was not responding. every situation is different every cycle can be different. I can't explain how grateful I feel to have found Nikoo when I did. She is a warm soul who genuinely cares how her patients are feeling physically and mentally. I have been seeing Nikoo as my acupuncturist since 2011 to help me aid my digestion, but I also used her as my doula when I had my baby in April 2014. It was such an honor to have her in the room working as my advocate! Of course, she came to the hospital as soon as I arrived, and left a couple hours after my son was born. She worked hard all day with my husband helping me get into positions, in addition to giving massages and using pressure points to help ease the pain. Because of Nikoo, I was able to walk around during my labor. And because I wasn't held up in a bed all day, there were no interventions giving birth other than an epidural, which I didn't even get until I was dilated at 10 cm. If Nikoo hadn't been there, I would have got the epidural way before and probably would have been laying in a bed for most of the day, which makes it harder for a smooth delivery. Prior to my delivery date, Nikoo also helped ease all my lower back and hip pain I had while carrying such a big baby. My insurance covered most of the appointments, so I was able to see her a lot while pregnant (at least once a week). Anytime I had any joint pain, she would use her magic and make it all disappear. Also, I got this crazy rash on my belly while I was pregnant called PUPPs rash. Women who carry twins, or women who carry large babies often get it. It basically felt like poison ivy on top of stretching skin! It was soooo painful and itchy! My doctor told me to take Claritin or Benadryl, but there was nothing to cure it. She told me it wasn't gonna go away until after I delivered my baby. I talked to Nikoo about it after hearing the disappointing news from my doctor, and after a week of trial and error, she had me drink dandelion tea (safe for me and baby) and my crazy rash cleared up after three weeks! Amazing!!! As I mentioned before, I had been seeing Nikoo since 2011 for digestion issues. She has a wide knowledge of nutrition as well, and she had me change my diet while I also received acupuncture treatments at her clinic every other week. Within a few months, there were dramatic changes in how I felt and the pains in my stomach were basically non-existant. And the funny thing is that I actually came to her clinic originally because of allergies, but the root problem was digestion which was causing my allergies. Not only that, she prescribes herbs from some of the most reputable herb companies in the world. These herbs are tested by 3rd parties to make sure there aren't any crazy chemicals that do more harm than good. So these aren't some random herbs from China town! I have to say, she is the cream of the crop! I've heard some horror stories out there about certain alternative health practitioners, and I wish they had all seen Nikoo prior. She is freakishly brilliant and extremely resourceful, but most importantly, she has a kind soul and is here to help all of us with our aches and pains. I consulted Dr. Kasmai seeking treatment and advice after I suffered a traumatic injury to my face (my dog had a seizure and bit me). She recommended some natural products that were very helpful, and I will continue to see her for post surgical care after my plastic surgery. She also was able to help me get a natural product for my dog to prevent her from having more seizures, without the negative side-effects of the Phenobarbitol that my veterinarian wanted to prescribe. It has been two months and my face is doing much better and my dog hasn't had any more seizures.
