It's evident that Dr. Chen and Linda really care about their patients and strive to make people feel better. I have had recurring low back pain for 20 years and was t-boned by a driver in an SUV last year which resulted in neck pain, "shaky legs," and increased back pain. I've been seeing Dr. Chen for a couple months now and getting acupuncture, ultrasound, and cupping on my neck, back, and legs. The pain is definitely reducing and the shaky legs are getting better, as well. I am grateful to have found Dr. Chen and Linda. Note: As other reviewers have mentioned, the office is a little outdated, all appointments are booked over the phone, paper records are used to track all care, etc. However, the care provided is top notch and that is what matters to me. A computer isn't going to fix my pain, but a Doctor in an office that operates off paper records sure can! This might be uncomfortable for some patients used to more western care processes, but if you give it a chance and allow yourself to be treated, I hope you'll have an experience similar to mine - quite positive. read more

"DON'T COME THIS PLACE _ BAD SERVICE EVER" My sister suffered a broken shoulder blade at the end of 2022 caused by a serious accident. Even now, when the bone has healed, it still aches and pains sometimes, so I took her to see a doctor to ask for a referral for acupuncture, in the hope that it will help relieve her aches and pains. The doctor introduced my sister to this place, so I helped her make an appointment. On the phone, the receptionist asked me informational questions about the accident. I read her the lawyer's phone number so she could ask for information related to the accident. She only wrote down information on paper and did not give me a form like "Auto Lien", like other service places usually have for customers to fill out. She told me to come tomorrow and she would give me a form to fill out, but the next day when my sister and I came, we didn't see any forms. On the desk are just messy papers, looking very unprofessional. She didn't even say hello to us, but instead blamed us for the fact that the phone number of the lawyer we gave was unreachable. Because she WROTE down the WRONG number and blamed us. I don't know who is wrong and who is right in this matter, but talking angrily and not letting the customer explain is unacceptable. She also blamed us for wasting a lot of time taking care of my sister's case. After a while, Dr. Chen Lin came out and chased us away, saying: "I won't treat your sister, because her case takes up too much of our time." After hearing that sentence, we were extremely shocked. They were the ones who received the wrong information, why did they treat us like that? Is this how a doctor talks to a patient, or does he even know what a doctor should be like? This is the first time in my life I have encountered such bad service. They did not dedicate themselves to consulting or helping my sister quickly receive treatment to recover quickly, but they also blamed us for wasting a lot of their time. They received wrong information and then blamed us. I hope these heartfelt shares of mine can help you choose the right place. What we need is at least to be treated kindly and happily. read more

This is the real deal - the only thing that has helped with my chronic pain from neuropathy. I have had to visit this center 4 yrs ago for pain I had in my hip and went for treatment here and my pain was relieved after my acupuncture treatment. I am here on a old work comp injury. Free for me. They were kind but soo busy. My appointment was 12:45. I know the parking in this area is awful so I starting looking early. I got lucky so I was only 10 minutes late. BUT! I did not get to the acupuncture table till 2pm,1 Hour later and because of a problem with the machine falling from a table plus i guess the busy time I spent only 20 minutes having it done. It should go much better the next time. But listen, the last thing you want to get there in is a car. Choose any way but that. With cane in hand I hiked 4 blocks there and 4 blocks back. read more

Great practice. Great owners. I've been going to Chen Lin for over a month now. They are incredibly kind and knowledgeable -- with 35+ years experience each. I suffer from chronic lower back pain (herniated disc, arthritis, stenosis, Schmorl nodes), which varies from moderate to severe. After starting treatments (acupuncture, PT, chiro), my daily pain has improved considerably. I think consistent acupuncture with Dr. Chen has been a large contributor. While the facility is old-school and could use a small facelift, the most important things are there. The two-person team is extremely kind, flexible with scheduling, and most importantly, good at what they do. Most days I get so relaxed during treatment that I fall asleep. Honestly Dr.Chen and Linda are the best. They have gained their education from China and America. What stands out about their acupuncture the most is that they hook these tiny little electrodes to the needles which is 10 times more effective than just Poking you! I come all the way from fremont to Oakland struggle over parking but I wouldn't have it no other way because they always do more than what you pay! it's so worth it!! The needles are never recycled, you would always see them pull out of new packet. They are so friendly witty and knowledgeable. They Take most insurance, have herbs. I have been seen by both Dr. Chen and Lin over the last two years and have had great results from their treatments. my reasons for seeking their help in 2017 was my knee pain, my both knee was very painful specially go up or down the slope, after a few times treatment with Dr. Chen and lin. I injured my back 8 months ago. After a back surgery, 4 months of physical therapy and lots of pain medications, I still suffer from severe back​ pain. My neurosurgeon recommended me to look into acupuncture for pain management. I decided to try the Chen Lin Acupuncture practice​. When I first walked in, I was overwhelmed​ by the strong herbal scent. I figured that it was okay because this was a Chinese medical practice. Dr. Chen treated me with needles at the spots for sciatica. The treatment lasted ~20 min. After this encounter, I had little confidence with this practice. Here are the reasons: 1) There was no receptionist at the front desk as I walked in. They recorded all the appointments using a ​pencil in a notebook​. 2) They booked my appointment on the phone​ but forgot to record it 3) They record information from the insurance company on scratch​ papers, and all the patient records were scattered on a desk 4) The practice was very chaotic​. Only 1 person takes all the phone calls. I had to call the insurance​ company at the practice and the person would talk to the insurance company on my phone and take calls on her office phone at the same time 5) The whole practice is a hole in the wall. Everything is outdated: the furniture (looks like they are from the​ dumpster) and computers from the 90s that are not functional 6) There is no filing system for patient records (they appeared to be randomly placed on top of each other) 7) The treatment room and the equipment appeared to be outdated as well 8) They only take cash 9) I also notice that there is one "1-star" review being removed from this practice. I find this very dubious 1 star goes to Dr. Chen. He was attentive and knowledgeable​ of the sciatica nerve endings All in all, I do not have confidence in​ this practice and would not recommend it to others. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Chen for a few weeks now and I cannot say enough about his exceptional care and compassion. I've been dealing with tendinitis and muscular issues. I had never tried acupuncture prior to seeing Dr. Chen. I've found that through the course of my treatment, my symptoms have improved as well as my mood which was a pleasant surprise. I love going about 2-3 times a week and I now sleep so much better!! I was warmly welcomed by Linda who also provides acupuncture treatment. She will help you navigate insurance issues and take the extra time with you. (**Also provided with herbal supplements, much more preferable for me compared to Motrin etc.) I want to again give a huge thanks to both Dr. Chen and Linda, I will absolutely be continuing my treatment. After the first visit I felt significantly different. My back pain it helped very much with the treatments I am receiving. They are very nice and make me very comfortable. I had done acupuncture before but did not find it as effective as I do with the subtle electrical pulse they use at Chen Lin. My father went here to get his shoulder fixed. He couldn't lift his shoulder past his head for a while but now he can.

After waking up one morning with aggravating neck pain, I attempted to get a same day chiropractic appointment with a provider covered by my insurance. As I went down the list, it seemed nobody had any appointments for that day. Mind you, this was later in the afternoon that I was making the calls, but when you're in that kind of pain, you can only hope for immediate relief! When I called Chen Lin Chiropractic and Acupuncture, Mrs. Chen was so courteous to me over the phone - I was even able to make an appointment for 45 minutes later!! Once I arrived, the wonderful customer service continued and I began a several day course of acupuncture followed by chiropractic. Needless to say, my neck pain has completely disappeared. Although I hope not to have any more pain anywhere for a while, I know that I will use the Chens again when I need to!!
