The top half was broken badly and when he examined it properly he said that it couldn't be repaired. Since it was the front door we were really stuck, but he jumped in and gave a reasonable quote and made an entirely new top half which fit perfectly, and had it ready by 5pm. Hinges and lock all slotted into place just fine. Really quality workmanship.

One of many events that really led up to this…read morerating and I would even go lower is due to the fact that they left the site without installing all of the knobs because he didn't want to have to come back to finish. This caused the contractor to finish the job for them and yes, we are charged for it. The other issues were the cabinets not being even, the doors on the cabinets have intermittent gaps that were not equal to each other, a huge space between the wall and cabinet where the fridge would go, and uneven gaps from the ceiling to the top of the cabinet. Trim was placed to make it look good....but....it doesn't! There have been multiple issues and while they are ready to fix them, the mistake/issues should not have been made and seem to have been caused by rushing the job, incorrect measurements, or a lackidazicle attitude. I don't know which but it is very apparent in the completed/incomplete work performed. Had to speak with the owner twice and unfortunately, no ownership of mistakes made and pointed fingers at everyone else. Threatened to take his work down and go home had the conversation gone a different way. Avoid this fool and his business!!!

I had a terrible experience with Andy's painting. Prior to starting the job, I emphasized to the…read morecrew that we had recently installed new flooring in our home and that I was concerned about protecting the floors. I was assured that the floors would be covered during the duration of the project to ensure protection. Floor covering is specified in our contract but was not completed. Our floors were not covered. Instead, masking tape was placed on the floor in sporadic areas. I discussed this with our project manager Kris and the painting crew after realizing that they weren't going to cover the floors and again re-emphasied my concerns, however the floors were still not covered. The tape job was not adequate, and paint got all over the stairs and flooring. The crew attempted remove the paint using an abrasive orbital buffer and a sharp hand tool. This caused multiple steps to be scratched and gouged. The crew caused $622.08 worth of damage to our new flooring. Andy's website states "We perform the work. We do not subcontract our painting work. All our painters are employed by Andy's painting." The original painters and our project manager Kris both informed me on the first day that the crew were indeed sub-contractors. The painter said that it was only his second day working with Andy's. Obviously, this was frustrating and a willful misrepresentation by Andy's. We did not expect or agree to have the job subcontracted. Especially by someone who lacked the skill to complete the job. Areas that were not to be painted received paint. Including the stair risers, handrail and doors. The handrail was even painted a different color without my consent or prior knowledge. The lack of attention to detail was astounding. We had to babysit the entire project. I had to ask multiple times to have simple tasks like filling nail holes or having walls textured completed. All of these items were agreed to in our contract. However, there were constant excuses from the crew and attempts to cut corners. I was told "you probably don't need 2 coats of paint" and "you can't see those holes." ect. It was tiresome to have to repeatedly insist that they complete the job as we had agreed. The first crew was fired by the project manager after 2 days. In total, 3 different crews worked on our project trying to get it right. On the very first day I was told that the job would be completed in 1 day. The job ended up taking 5 days. The doors were painted using a sprayer in our driveway. The driveway was not protected properly and there was white paint sprayed all over our driveway. The doors were initially put back on wet causing the paint to be damaged, door hinge pins upside down, missing screws ect. The crew does not arrive on time. They were at least 30 minutes late on 4 different occasions. Multiple crew members told me that Andy's will hire anyone and that they don't check references or require any demonstration of proficiency or skill prior to be hired. Overall, it was a bad experience. I was expecting a much more professional experience and result. Andy's did agree to pay for the damage and did some additional work on removing the paint from our stairs and flooring. I would not recommend hiring Andy's Painting.

We needed to address water stains from a 2023 roof leak in three ceiling areas, as well as hairline cracks from the house settling over the last 22 years. The team arrived promptly at 8:00 AM. Their attention to detail was evident, and the final result is beautiful. I hired Chris through Thumbtack several months ago to handle a list of small household repairs…read more Most of them were done adequately on the first visit. One of the tasks was simply to loosen a handle on a guest bathroom faucet that was secured too tightly. After working on it, Chris informed me that I needed a new faucet. I accepted his verdict and arranged for him to return and install it. (I ordered a new one which he picked up). He came back and installed it, but said that it should not be used for a few days. I was leaving town and had house sitters. They waited to use it and upon first use there was a major leak affecting the sink, toilet and shower. I contacted Chris and scheduled a time for him to return while I was gone, but he didn't show up for the app't. When I texted him, he said it wasn't his fault and that I'd need to get a plumber. I did so and it was a very expensive repair involving cutting into the wall. When I returned, I noticed that the spout on the faucet was very loose and had not been securely fastened. I sent Chris a video illustrating the loose spout and he denied responsibility. After an interchange, he agreed to come back when it was convenient for him. After several weeks I inquired again. Chris then decided he was not going to come back at all, but would offer a refund within 30 days. At the end of the month, I asked if he would be sending the refund and, after another unpleasant interchange, he decided he would not be sending a refund. This has been an unnecessarily complicated and unsatisfactory transaction and I am left having to pay another person to make the repair. I never asked for a refund...I only wanted the install to be corrected. Chris threatened me with legal action if I wrote a negative review. I am refraining from using any negative adjectives, but will simply say that I cannot recommend him. This is a simplified, understated review, just trying to stick to facts. I have a thorough email trail that backs up the entire transaction. Let me add that Chris put a new screen door in my kitchen that was supposed to be pet resistant. It pulled out of the framing within days. Rather than return to repair it, he offered a 3/4 percent refund. I accepted it, but need a new screen. This refund had nothing to do with the plumbing/faucet episode.

Steven and the crew at Town and Country Cabinets did a great job installing our new kitchen cabinets and countertops. They came to our house a few times to check and double check measurements, making sure everything was accurate. During COVID they showed up in their masks, were friendly, and professional. Steven called frequently to update us on scheduling and details. Also,, when we had questions, they never ignored our calls if they weren't readily available. When I requested shelf pins for spare shelves, they ordered more and brought them to our front door. They are a legitimate company in Albuquerque's South Valley who work hard for their customers. We are very pleased with our beautiful cabinets and countertops. We highly recommend them!!! read more

Richard came out and they worked out a plan to transition the two levels. It came out perfectly. I kept my original baseboards. I talked with Ricardo, the owner of the company to get an estimate of the cost of the work and a projected date for the work. I also spoke with Ms. Teresa Martinez, the Business Manager of the company, to arrange a date for the project. In less than a week the granite technicians, Juan and Mario came to our house to do the work. After completing measurements and using plastic sheeting to fully enclose the area where the work was done, the granite specialists cut the countertop and polished the surface of the cut. Then they fully cleaned the work area. Juan and Marion were highly competent and did their work in a very proficient manner. In addition, they were very pleasant. The Business Manager, Ms. Martinez was exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. She maintained contact with me before and after the granite cutting project. In doing business with various companies, it is very rare to encounter a person as proficient and caring as Ms. Martinez. If you need granite work at your home, I recommend Villanueva Granite enthusiastically and without any reservation. It's a great company!
