LIFE SAVERS!! I was traveling from Florida to Maine and ended up with a flat on my trailer and then my spare went flat! I stayed in Danbury over night and first thing in the morning they were quick to help! They had both tires i needed in stock and they were SUPER fast to get them changed and sent me on my way. Hello. This is in reference to the Danbury location on Newtown Road. I took my car in for a FREE rotation the Friday before last and the workers (who cannot speak a word of English! How did one become a manager) scratched my flawless stock rims in all holes on one side of the car (I since discovered some on the other side after the wheels moved) and forced my wheel locks off after having broken a key. Well, they will reimburse me for the wheel locks and they somewhat fixed the rims - on one side of the car, although not perfectly. The problem was, the side that was done was darker than the stock and the machined part has cuts in them that are not on the stock, along with striation directions that are not right. I asked the wheel people about it and they claimed that it will eventually turn to the correct color. They, like Town Fair Tire in Danbury, were just trying to get me out of there. They claimed that they were doing ME a favor when TFT people took it upon themselves to strip my wheel locks without asking me, thus causing damage. There was also a question of a broke lug stud which was brought to their attention, but dismissed in a way to make me think that they were going to do something about it. Jokingly, the Mexican service manager spoke to me in some type of gibberish that was not English or Spanish and I had no idea of what he was talking about. All I kept wondering was how he interviewed for the job and got it! Add to that I felt a roaring sound and an uneven ride after their final adjustment and Rich did not want to hear anymore. I later realized that the air pressure was uneven due to a slow leak that was not properly fixed by this same location on a prior date. Rich - whom I assume was the manager, said that he wanted nothing more to do with the car and that he was out of $500 - for HIS PEOPLES mistakes, not mine! I informed RICH, that I was out of $70 for buying the wheel locks of which I did THEM a courtesy to shop around for the cheapest price, as they constantly tried to suggest to me that I did not need wheel locks anymore - since they damaged them all and the key! I assume they kept saying that because they did not want to replace what they had damaged. If it took them some work to get them off, obviously they are worth it! I also let Rich know - since he wanted to complain about the cost of doing business, that it also cost me $25 in taking public transportation to get back and forth as I was declined an Uber from TFT and I declined to pay myself since it would be $50 each way. He chuckled, but I also walked literal miles since busses in Danbury almost don't exist. So I was out of pocket - no matter how small, for something that THEY caused! They should be angry at their suspicious immigration status worker, who don't seem to work on cars in a professional way. I ate the transportation money. I took the walks as exercise. I still have a slow leak and these rims dont match. The lug stud is ripped half-way off and they over tightened them, and I had to torque them to spec. Rich complained that HE was out of money for a FREE service, yet HIS people caused the problems - not me! Aside from the rotation, my car was perfectly fine with not one scratch on a wheel. Free service or not, that is what you offer and if they damage a vehicle on a free service, they have to fix it up. Despite all of this BS, I never came in upset. it is not up to Rich to set a limit for how much repairs cost, it has to be whatever the cost is to get it done. read more

Rude and unprofessional you're better going to firestone. They didn't except my military id to purchase a tire with my own bank card. I tried using my shared account with my wife but my names not on it fair enough I understood that. What I didn't under why my military id and my own bank card wasn't excepted said I must have a drivers license which I don't have since I moved and have temporary paper one and still wouldn't take it. I needed to get brakes done on my wife's BMW. After finding out they don't replace it with BMW brakes, I shopped around. This Town Fair Tire does brakes, not all do. It's located on Newtown Rd near Walmart. Call your local shop before bringing it in to verify they do brakes. I spoke with Anthony the day before and set up an appointment. It came out to $500 cheaper than BMW for similar highly rated German brakes. They told me it would take two hours, it took two hours. Anthony also went into other details about the car that I did not know that were very helpful. I will definitely be returning here for brakes and tires. read more

This is a great place to go - if you want your wheels scratched up, wheel stud broken off and for them to minimize their responsibility! Of course, this is one of the many businesses who hire illegal, imported Mexicans who cant speak one word of English, but will work on your ride in a ghetto style.  Then when it is clear that they did it, they have the nerve to act as if they are fed up when they did it! Then you go to one of their wheel repair partners and those foriegners from Brazil, act as if they were doing myself or TFT a favor.  TFT messed up and now i have one side of my car with wheels that are one color and non-original pattern, and the other side OEM!  They both did more harm than good. I recently got new tires put on by Walmart of all places, and they did a perfect job!  The tires were put on perfectly, with no scratches and no extra damage - and tires and wheels are not Walmart's forte!  I recomend going to Walmart over this place and the one that starts with an M, as they are no better than TFT forcdamaging cars. read more

I had a great experience yesterday, 1/5/2024. Richard took great care of me. I had a screw in one of my tires and it was leaking fast. It couldn't be plugged, so it needed to be replaced. They were super busy because the first snow storm of the season was predicted for the next day (and that's when a lot of people say, "Hey! I need new tires!") Richard was able to squeeze me in. They even had the same tire as my existing ones. Richard gave me an estimate for how long the wait would be, and he was spot on. I'm so glad I didn't have to leave my car overnight. I used Town Fair Tire's "Beat the Competition" feature on their web site because I found several places offering lower prices online. I filled out the online form and was given a quote that was just $3.27 less per tire. Well, not much better but okay. I ordered the tires and opted out of their optional wheel alignment. I received a confirmation email that stated: THIS PRICE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: * Shipping to the Town Fair of your choice * Dismount old, mount new, install on vehicle * Optional front wheel alignment for $59.00 * Reset the tire pressure monitoring system * 30-day free test drive * Nationwide warranty * Lifetime flat repair * Lifetime tire rotation * Lifetime snow tire changeover. When I got to the store, I was informed that there would be an an additional $25+ charge PER TIRE for installation. I argued "what happened to the THIS PRICE INCLUDES statement in my confirmation email?" They stated that I was quoted a "cash and carry price" which doesn't include installation. What kind of Bulls*** is that? Especially since they are always touting all of the FREE SERVICES they offer! I think Town Fair Tire's advertising practices are very deceptive. They should STOP advertising that the mounting and dismounting of tires is free, since it certainly is NOT! I purchased four brand new truck tires for $1200. Less than a month later I was having trouble with one of the seals on one tire and it was constantly loosing air. I called the Danbury location where I bought them and they couldn't be bothered trying to help me. I couldn't get an appointment (they flatly refused to give me one) and was basically shit out of luck. I called another town fair tire and was able to get an appointment for my tire to get looked in Derby. The Derby location is no better. I had an appointment for 3:30 PM. At 4:30 They still had not even looked at my truck other than to see which tire it was and said it was going to be at least another 45 minutes. I walked out completely frustrated. They were happy enough to take your money but can't be bothered with you after you purchase them. I would not recommend them to anyone nor will I ever step foot in another town fair tire location ever again. I don't know if it was because I'm a woman but they couldn't give me the time of day. I plan to go to a local mechanic to get my tire fixed and submit the bill to their corporate office. I should also bill them for my time and frustration. If you enjoy a complete lack of customer service, condescending treatment by the manager - this is the place for you. Come in (on time) for my appointment no one told me how long it would take for 2 tires to be mounted, balanced and fitted - one hour later my car is still outside. Foolishly I asked what was going on (very politely I might add) Manager and staff were condescending and treated me like they were doing ME a favor??? and I spend money here?finally 2 and a half hours later I got out the door. Did you forget you're not the only tire shop in CT? To the management: Did you forgot that if you treat people like cattle, they stop buying from you. I went to TFT for a winter tire swap out and they said it would be approx two hours. I came back two hours later and they were JUST putting my car in the bay and told me it would be another hour. I asked what the delay was and they said "do you have an appointment"? I was baffled as to why they asked me this since I was one of the first ones to arrive at 9:30am. Unfortunately, this was NOT the first time that they didn't deliver on their promise. I had them do the same thing in the fall and waited well over 3 hours for what I was told would take 90 minutes. If you do decide to bring your car here, expect LONGER wait times than what they originally said. I do NOT recommend TFT, and you have lost a customer. Word of mouth goes a LONG way, too! read more

Their shoddiness is going to kill someone one day. Do not trust these lazy crooks. Had a slow leak on a tire Monday Christmas Eve - took it to Town Fair. Came in 8:30am, got the car back at 10:30am. Not a lot of explanation, but was told that the tire had a nail in it, and it was patched. Come Friday - we're on our way out the door on a 600+ mile trip assuming everything is cool guess what - low tire pressure warning. Took it Sears, sat for 3 hours where they properly diagnosed the issue as a faulty valve stem. Sears replaced the valve. We asked Sears if they saw any kind of flat tire patch on the tire - they say no patch was found. Drove 600 miles home the next day and had the tire checked out at our local tire joint - our guys took off the tire and visually inspected it for a patch and also concluded that there was no repair work done on a patch, which confirms what Sears told us. I had the work checked at 2 different places. Town Fair Tire technicians probably couldn't find the leak, put some air in the tire, took our money, and then sent us on our way none the wiser. The salesperson helped me pick out Toyo Celcius tires for my 2016 Jeep Patriot. Because I am a woman he "lied" to me about the price being a mistake in the system and the tires should have been $199 each. I knew he was talking BS. I just let him talk. He didn't know I was going to look them up when I left. Their price was in the ballpark of all the others. I hate when salespeople act like you are getting a deal. There are no "deals"! I hate dishonesty. I do like the tires. I did go onto the website when I got home and found other Toyo tires with "10" ratings for all season tires that were just as good and cheaper. I am disappointed that he truly upsold me. He also said they were 65,000 mile tires... my receipt said 60,000. But I will be safe driving. read more

Been buying my tires from Town Fair for 40 years with no problems - until I got a set of 4 tires 2 weeks ago. The wheels on my '91 Corvette are directional - that is, a matching set on the left side and a mirrored matching set on the right. Problem is, the tech got them swapped out, with two of the wheels/tires on backwards. Depending on how they handle it tomorrow, I may add a star or two. read more

My wife got a nail in her tire this evening and was rapidly loosing air. The tire just needed a plug and at the time it was 6:28pm. Town Fair tire mentions on their automated system that they are opened later in Monday's for their customers convenience. I called around 6:30 and advised them that I was 10 mins away and asked if they could place a plug for me. The response I got was they were closed... I reminded them that their hours are until 7pm. Really ambivalent about this place. The prices are GREAT and the service prices are GREAT. The sales guys are also pretty helpful even if they all seem like they just got off the nightshift. The techs are total morons that might get someone killed one day. And I say that with great reluctance. I don't like pushing on the fellow working man. What's my issue? Their techs. I purchased a set of new tires last month. Got an alignment, wheels balanced, the full workup. Payed a pretty penny for it too. All was well and dandy until I took the car onto the highway. Heard a dull thumping noise. Pull over, the lugs are coming off. I'm not mad yet. They do tell you to have them check the torque after getting the tires. I take one of the lugs off? The wheel bolt is totally boogered. The chowder head must have cross threaded all the lugs on that wheel with his impact wrench. I knew what I was doing but this was a serious SAFETY HAZARD. Someone wrote these guys are going to get someone killed one day and I think they're right. I could have LOST A WHEEL AT SPEED. Not to mention replacing wheel bolts are a total pain in the butt. Whoever is running town fair tire seems to have a decent business model. They need to get on their techs about doing a professional job because what they gave me was totally unacceptable. read more

Went there on a Saturday at 315. The place was fairly empty. Went to the desk and told them my tire pressure light came on and asked if they could take a look at it. The guy at the front desk told me that they were closing in 45 minutes and had 3 hours left of work and to come back on Monday. As I was getting in my car to pull out of the lot, the same guy who told me that was outside helping the person behind me. He was out there looking at his tires. No time to look at the tire pressure, but time to sell new tires to someone??? read more

Follow-up to the below review. Upon communicating with the corporate office, Town Fair Tire has in-fact made good on the issue and replaced the tires in question. I am concerned and would warn people purchasing tires to always check that the tires being installed meet all the manufacturer's specifications. That was not the case here. I am happy with the fact that once contacted they did make the situation right. Beware at all costs - they do not stand behind the products they install. I purchased a set of new tires for my SUV in September 2013. This weekend, one of the tires developed a bulge in the sidewall the size of a softball. When I called to find out what was covered; I was told that since I did not purchase the extended warranty, there was no credit for the tire. When I looked up the manufacturer warranty, it shows they are covered by a 1 year road hazard warranty. These guys are crooks. read more
