Another seamless experience this week when my one of my Alfas developed a bubble in its left front tire. Stopped by yesterday to verbally order the tire, was quoted a fair price and was called this am by the shop to confirm my appointment and to let me know the tire had in fact arrived as scheduled/planned. In and out in under 40 minutes, with the new tire properly inflated to the exact pressure as the other front tire (so simple but so often overlooked at other shops.) Top notch service. When I was traveling from Chicago and was in the area for wedding, my car unfortunately began to have some mechanical issues. Going to write a 2nd review because yelp took down my first. I am sure the owner complained to Yelp. Heard about them through Tire Rack, was buying a set of tires on line and when they ask, do you want them mounted I said sure. I brought my car in when tires arrived and they told me I need brakes, sure lets do the pads since the cars in the shop. When I got my bill I was shocked they charged me $180 for brake pads when I know they should be no more then $80, even from the dealer. I learn my lesson and wanted to share my experience with others. I will never be BACK!!!!! read more

What a disappointment? Why was Ace untrustworthy to this client? No explanation of why Ace said my car needed over $4000 of work. I stopped that madness. Example is a part Ace said cost $800, but checking prices I see it cost $150. I believe a company needs to make a profit, but this mark up in pricing. This review is long overdue. I came here after driving from NYC on a spare tire because the GW ANNIHILATED one of my tires. It was almost noon on a Saturday and I was headed to Vermont, low on funds and desperate to find a used tire. After calling, I don't know, nine or ten other places to see if they had a used tire in the right size, Ace pulled through. 50 bucks for a very decent used tire, including the labor. But the best part is when I went in to pay. The three guys behind the counter (who were all very nice to me despite my probably off-putting desperation) were hanging out with the chillest pug I've ever met, AND with my receipt they gave me a gift card to Dunkin Donuts! On a super stressful day these guys were a god send. read more

We are a local non-profit thrift shop in Ridgefield, CT. In the parking area where donors drop off their donations, we have a large pole that people were constantly backing into on their way out of our lot. It was becoming a real problem. We tried various solutions with no success. Ace Tire to the rescue! They came up with the perfect solution -- surrounding the pole with tires, as a special padding. Ace tire saved the day for me. I was on my way to a wedding in Maine, driving from Connecticut., had a flat. Precision Brake works refused to fix the flat, said i had to leave the car all day. i said i have to be at a wedding 250 miles away in 6 hours, no deal, sorry. Too bad. We are busy. Unbelievable. We called Ace, 3 miles away, Ace said, bring the car in, we went, they found a screw in the tire and less then 30 minutes later we were on our way, patched from the inside, balanced and no worries. easy. Dear neighbors, this place is known as an "up sell shop". Customers will come in for a small repair and find that many other phantom problems have come up with their vehicle. I recently had this experience myself when a small leak caused by a cracked hose turned into a major repair project. Of note is that this practice was confirmed to me by a former mechanic at the place. Beware neighbors. They offer a friendly welcome but the smiles hide an unethical business. read more

Got coupon for oil change 39.99 and free tire rotation went in and was charge 79.95 for oil change no tire rotation plus they charge 15.00 for labor, could have gone to dealer and had it done quicker and at a better price will never go there again. read more

I had my brakes and rotors done on my Jeep at pamby motors, I was leaving to Pennsylvania and I heard a really weird rubbing noise, turns out when they replaced my stability control sensor on one of my tires they didn't bend back the dust cover, I brought it in with out an appointment and they helped me right away, turns out the brake calipers were completely loose too, to the point where the mechanic undid them with his hand! I was very upset with pamby but the guys at ace tire did a great job and sent me on my way in such a short notice. read more

I hobbled into Ace Tire with a flat tire at 7:15 AM going to work. They helped me right away, tried to repair the tire, but it was shot so they sold me an extra they had in the shop. Throughout the fall / early winter I noticed that I had a hole in my exhaust system. Due to pure laziness on my part it went unchecked for some time. I knew what the repair would entail and the cost for parts but just didn't have the time (or motivation) to do the work myself. After I received my notice for emissions in the mail I knew that my truck would fail if I didn't fix the exhaust leak. I work nearby and pass the shop everyday coming and going to/from work but figured that they only serviced tires. After going online and reading some reviews I saw that they also perform light/medium duty truck repairs, so I figured it was worth a shot. I brought my truck in yesterday with no appointment or call ahead. The younger gentleman at the counter was polite and professional and took my information and said that they would take a look and give me a call with an estimate for the repairs. About 1 1/2 hrs later I received a call and the quote provided was within the prices that I had researched, but did not include tax. After receiving my ok he said that he would have to call to make sure that they parts were available. A few minutes later he called back to confirm that they were and stated that the truck would be ready that afternoon. About 15 minutes before I left work I got a call saying that the truck was ready. To my surprise, the cost of the repair was cheaper than they quote even after taxes were figured in. I picked up the truck and was met by another gentleman who was very cordial and informative when he heard of my search for a new vehicle. On time and under quote. This is the type of business mentality that is lost in a fast paced "what's in it for me" business world. Hello, We found Ace on the internet, and gave them a try. The first impression was good -- the shop was reasonably neat and clean, and the waiting area had nice new chairs. Sharon was friendly and helpful. We had a nail in our tire, and it sat flat on a rocky driveway for days. The mechanic discovered that the wieght of the rim squeezing the sidewall against the sharp rocks had damaged the sidewall, so the tire could not be repaired. That surprised me, but when he pointed it out, I could see the damage. I appreciated his thoroughness. He installed the new tire quickly, while I waited, and the price was better than fair. Trustworthy, with timely service! We've been taking our family cars to Ace for 5 years or so, first just for tires, and now for just about everything. The service is fast, and if there's a delay, we've always been kept updated with an explanation as to why and when our car would be ready. Their estimates on parts and labor are reasonable and accurate. Recently they were even able to save us some money when my car needed new spark plugs and a coil. I got a flat tire on the road and was told that I could probably get it repaired, but I was concerned about going somewhere that would pressure me into buying a new tire (or four). I went to Ace Tire & Auto to see if they could repair it. Not only were they able to repair it, but I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes, and they told me the repair job should last the life of the tire. No pressure to buy new tires or have any extra services done to my car, just great service AND the gentleman helping me was about as nice as they come. I had a bad creaking noise coming from the from of my classic station wagon. I drove it in at lunch and a few hours later they said it just needed some grease in the bushings. When I went to pay, they handed me the keys and said no charge. That was not expected and really appreciated. Definitely recommend these guys. read more

Been going to Ace for over 20 years. I won't be back to Ace Tire now that Kenny sold it. New Ace owner replaced my tire's inner-tube, but it still went flat within a week. New Ace owner's son claimed I must have over-pressurized. Since I didn't add any air, I simply went to another garage. Other garage found there was a nail in the tire. Original Tube & Ace's replacement tube had same puncture hole from this nail. Clearly Ace didn't check the tire before putting on the replacement tube. Other garage used much heavier replacement tube and charged half as much as Ace did. read more

I stopped by this shop based on word of mouth from some folks I know in ridgefield and this place is as honest as a car repair shop can be! I went it for a bent rim and they analyzed the wheel and said its fine to keep and no need to replace. On top of that they didn't even charge me.
