Great price on tires. Been to other TF stores in central CT and this is the best. Service times/waits are reasonable. Had a couple of incidents with my Honda Fit Sport 2011 that highlight their good service and ethical treatment of customers. First case, upon mounting new tires, a couple of lug studs broke on wheel (not uncommon on older high mileage vehicles). They recommended a nearby auto repair chain store that over-charged on the repair. When I brought this matter to store manager's (Seth S.) attention, he arranged to reimburse half the cost. Second case, rim was damaged internally during a TF tire leak check. It was deemed most probable that the TF service tech had damaged during subsequent return & inspection. Manager (Seth) volunteered to pay for the replacement rim. Appreciate their honesty, customer care/focus & overall great service!. read more

Seth Shaggy the manager of Town Fair Tire was horrible along with his staff. We went in with a slow leak in our RAV 4 rear passenger tire and were told that it needed to be replaced. They said they would order the exact tire and it would be in the next afternoon at 3 pm. When we showed up, they said the tire never came and to come back the next morning at 10 am. We returned for the third time at 10 am and they said the tire never came in, and to come back in the afternoon. The salesperson never told us the price of the tire, and when we came back the fourth time they had lost our wheel lock key. When they finally replaced the tire, they said that we need to find a new wheel lock key since they lost it and they would pay for it. How could you lose our wheel lock key? Then we found out they only put 4 lug nuts on the wheel instead of 5 because they lost the wheel lock. They never informed us of this only that they lost the wheel lock key. I called them again and told them that they needed to put the lug nut on the wheel immediately. So, I went back a fifth time to get this fixed. When I got home I noticed the back of my trunk was not sitting correctly and I found out that they had all the equipment supplied by Toyota to fix the flat tire all over underneath the inside trunk of my car and not put away correctly. I would never recommend going to town fair tire to anyone! They are disorganized, they lose your equipment, and they do not communicate to their customers. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! read more

I brought my vehicle there to get a tire rotation after an hour. They handed me three lug nuts and said they were stripped. They said if I go get new Lugnuts they would put them on I returned with the Lugnuts and then the guy told me maybe the lugs are stripped. I told him just put them on an impact them because I have to get the vehicle on the road They have a little to no mechanical abilities whatsoever When I got back to the shop, I pulled the another hubcap off and found another lug nut missing Manager there is a clown. I ordered my tires online and had them shipped to this particular location because I work 15 minutes away in Cheshire. When you order online, the price for the tires does NOT include valve stems or balancing (or taxes, obviously) so my $260 set of 4 tires for my 2009 Hyundai ended up costing me $350. I was a bit aggravated at the wait time, because when I ordered the tires online, I was asked to select an appointment time, which they would confirm with me. I showed up at the allotted & specified time and still had to wait while 5 other walk-in customers who were ahead of me had their tires put on. It was nearly 2 hours. I think that if someone makes an appointment which they confirmed...they should take presidence over some random straggler off the street. If the person who made the appointment shows up late, THEN MAKE THEM WAIT and let the stragglers go in...not if they showed up at the allotted time! Other than that, I have no complaints about the tires, they were Firestones (not the no-name crap that apparently TFT likes to push, so I hear) and rated for 50k miles. We'll see how they hold up. read more

Got a low tire pressure warning on my drive up from NYC to visit friends in CT. Stopped at town fair down the road and the service tech was very prompt, came out and looked at my car (which has run flat tires on it) and explained the possibility of not being able to patch it. Said they'd take it in and test it and see if they could take care of it, should take 1.5-2 hours as it was a busy Saturday. I was expecting to pay about $20 for a patch, but it came out to only $6.33! They had my car done in about 30 minutes and fixed the leak. I did request they check all 4 tires for proper pressure and reset to spec, however they did not complete this even though it was on the service ticket. However, the service I received was still prompt, friendly, & extremely reasonable for price, at no point did they try to up sell me or get me to replace my tire, which is refreshing. Would recommend for future tire needs. read more

Normally I'm a huge fan of Town Fair Tire but I left with a uncomfortable taste in my mouth today. I went in for a set of tires. I went in and asked for prices on the tires I wanted and automatically the sales person tried to convince me to get something else. He went on and on and almost appeared defensive that I didn't want his no-name tires. I generally have a good experience at this Town Fair Tire as the staff have always been friendly and helpful with me. I was quoted a price and then I gave him my employee discount. It wasn't a major discount it was 5% which is less than the state tax but for some reason he made it seem like I was robbing him of his commission. Thankfully another sales person was standing close by and mentioned that these discounts have been around for ages and will be honored. Generally this Town Fair Tire has nice staff. The internet price was the same at the store, they offer upgrades if wanted, and were low pressure about them. They quoted me 1.5 hours.....was done in 28 minutes! Yeah! Initially I would have given this place one star but in the end they did their best to redeem themselves.. so an extra two stars. I decided to bring my car to this location instead of the dealership (which I usually do for my tire needs) based on the positive experience a former coworker had here. My first experience was horrific. Came in for a simple alignment which I made an appointment for two weeks prior. I also asked them to check the wear on my tires and replace them if needed since the dealership told me I'd need new ones soon the last time I was there. They said about 90 minutes. On the 90 minute mark I called them and they said it would be done in 30 more minutes as they hadn't even gotten to it yet! At the 30 minute mark they said it was still not done so I took a walk, came back and they said it was parked outside. I asked if they checked the tires and the guy looked at me as if I had two heads and said no.. then he went to check the tires and said they were completely put on wrong and it needed to go back in the shop for another 20 minutes. By this time I'm like WTF and fuming. A manager came over while I was waiting and said he was sorry for the inconvenience and he will order me new tires and give me an awesome deal plus have me in and out in an hour. He held true to his word which is why I upped the stars. But in all honesty I'm not sure I'd come back due to the customer service the first time around. Which is sad because they do tires so much cheaper than the dealership. And faster. Oh well read more

Extremely bad on delivery timing people waiting for hours and nothing done if you are not sitting on their head. Had 3 angry customers coz of time delay. Never ever going here again !!!! Perhaps I am being harsh because I have bought several sets of tires from them and been happy with each purchase. But I concur with the previous reviewer about waiting. Wait till she comes back for free rotation if she thinks her wait was long to buy tires. It has been a while but the last time I was there but the waiting areas are terrible. Plastic cafeteria chairs horrible TV. I suggest using the store in Hamden, CT because it is right next to a large retail area with plenty of stores and restaurants to occupy your free time. The good and the bad news is that they do not do repairs. Good news they are not trying to upsell you for brakes or front end work. Bad news is that they may not notice that something is wrong and you have to make an appointment somewhere else if they do notice something wrong. I've used this store many times over the years. It's always hit or miss. Sometimes the staff there is great. However, there seems to be a fair amount of turnover, and sometimes the staff is a bit lacking. Today was one of those times. I went to purchase a set of snow tires I researched via Tirerack.com. I stood in line for well over 20 minutes, and was never helped. One gentleman simply kept looking at my fellow customers and myself every so often and said "We'll be right with you." Then he went back to doing other tasks (talking on the phone with other stores/warehouses, etc. I think). At one point he was talking on a cell phone (I'll give benefit of doubt... it may have been job-related). They were busy. I understand this. Still, with the number of staff available, this was an unreasonable wait. Eventually, after being told someone would be right with me for at least the 4th time, I simply walked out. Speaking of researching tires on Tirerack.com... more than a couple of times, I've gone in, and asked them for a quote on a set of four of whatever tire I'd decided upon at that time. Of course, Town Fair Tire always charges more than Tirerack. Town Fair Tire will price match, which is good (and which is why I've ultimately used them previously). The bad: when I tell them I can get the same tires from Tirerack at a cheaper rate, the all-too-common reply is "...but you also have to factor in tax and shipping." One employee - a manager no less - appeared dumbfounded when I replied "I already did." I've gotten to the point where I now take pictures of the total price on Tirerack.com before I even venture in the store. It's frustrating that I have to do that. While I realize it's not personal on their part, it still comes across as if my intelligence is being insulted. I don't care for that. Lastly, when I come asking for x tire, I'd prefer to see what the store can do to help me get that tire. I know what I want. What I DON'T want is a sales pitch for a different tire (specifically: Mastercraft). I've become skilled in stopping any salesperson from trying to sell me Mastercraft brand tires. The sales pitch never changes: "They've got this aggressive tread." I've heard it so many times that I have to assume it's a catch phrase given to every employee (at least every manager). I get they want to sell that particular brand for whatever reason. That's fine. But... A. this gets old and predictable fast and B. again, I've clearly already done the research and know what I want. Unless you have a really good reason as to why brand x is better and can back it up... give it a rest! Stop wasting both of our times. Either you can get the tires, or you can't. If you can't... well, I know somewhere that can. (Note: Mastercraft may be good tires. I don't know. I can't research them thoroughly enough for me to be confident in their purchase.) Today, I walked out of the store, went home, and ordered what I wanted from Tirerack.com. I had them shipped directly to the installer's location. Problem solved. It was so easy that I wonder why I haven't done before. In closing, while I've had some genuinely good experiences in the past, the instances in which I've found myself annoyed outweigh the good. Furthermore, I found a much easier and consistently more economical way to purchase tires. For these reasons, I'm highly unlikely to return to Town Fair Tire in the future. read more

I realized that I had a slow leak in my tire while in Southington. Town Fair Tire just happened to be across the street, so I stopped in to see about a repair. They fixed the tire for a very reasonable price. While I was waiting for the repair, I discussed tire options with them since I was going to be needing to replace my old tires soon. They were very knowledgeable, helpful and honest, which made my decision so much easier. I made and appointment to have 4 new tires put on. My car was taken in promptly. I was offered a hot beverage while I waited in the waiting area. I chose to do a little shopping instead, but the waiting area appeared to be quite clean and comfortable. The guys there are very friendly and accommodating. Town Fair in Southington offers a wide range of tires at competitive prices, a knowledgeable and friendly staff, in a convenient location. read more

Town fair did an excellent job with my service. I had flat tire on the highway, and unfortunately didn't have my complete jack set up. I called the Southington Town Fair as this was the closest to where I was. I spoke with a Mark, who was able to get a delivery driver truck out to put my spare on, followed him to the store. So disappointed. This store was recommended to me, however the service was terrible. They made me wait for hours longer than they said it would. I am not exaggerating. It was 2 1/2 hours. One of the tires failed within two weeks. When I went back I was made to wait for 2 1/2 hours again just to have the spare put on. I went back to find the manager was gone for the day and no idea when a replacement tire would be sent in. Never, ever go here. read more

Most of the time I deal with the manager Mark who is wonderful, but this time I had the experience of working with Warren. If you're looking to buy tires, please go see him! He was helpful, honest, and took the time to respect me as a customer even though he was noticeably extremely busy. I came in with a flat and he explained & showed me (in simple terms, for all those who know close to nothing about tires) exactly what had went wrong. He in details described to me what tires I was selecting, showing me the details and benefits of each. He worked with my time frame which wasn't very large and made me a priority! This location is the best!! I shopped around and did a lot of research before coming to this location so I knew what I wanted and what I could get for what I wanted to spend. The guys were very friendly as soon as I walked in the door. They were eager to help and very knowledgeable!! They helped me find exactly what I was looking for at a great price and had tires ready when I came back for installation and the alignment. They were very professional and respectful to my truck and really took their time to ensure they didn't scratch my rims or do any damage while swapping the tires out. Wow. Total bait and switch. Waited FOUR hours to get four tires changed. Was advised that it would take an hour and a half. I told them I was leaving and they proceeded to say I was next in line and moved my car to the back bay where it sat for two hours untouched. No apology other than : "yeah, we got slammed" The place reeks of utter apathy. read more

These guy are like used car salesman its almost laughable when you finally accept the fact that you bought there economy tires. They make you belive that they are giving you a $150 tire for $89. They swear to god, they mothers that you are getting a great deal on a tire you never heard of. They advertise price match but They only have a few tires on line and when you go in to the store you buy there economy tire because they don't let you think for 1 second . They are getting 2 stars because they had me in and out and gave me lot of attention. Just wish i didn't feel tricked I will definitely try some place else next time. read more
