Rather than starting the lug nuts with their hands they just zipped them on with the air impact and cross threaded 3 of the lug nuts

Let me first say I've been seeing John for fifteen years. Sending my entire family here. Today was the last straw of dealing with him. We had Michelin tires that has 35k on them. Bought from him guaranteed to 60k by him. Rotated and documented by him the entire life. There is less than 1/8" tread on the tires and won't survive the winter. His answer when we complained was "we must be doing a lot of driving on stone/rocks". Maybe the business is booming soo much they just don't care anymore. He sent my father in law out with nothing to bring his business elsewhere. What was good service for many years can change quick. A little too cocky for at this point for me. Went to J&M get 2 tires on my new BMW. Tires and serviced cost me $744. During installation, Chad informed me that one of their guys severely scratched up my rim. They sent it out to get it re-painted and put a random spare tire on my car for the in-term. When the rim got back, I noticed that it was missing the original emblem (they took it off during the paint job, Chad had to order a new one). I also noticed that the paint job was sloppily done with drips causing uneven surfaces all around the rim. The icing on the cake was that the rim color was noticeably different than the other 3. During this whole ordeal, not once was I offered any type of credit or compensation for their errors. I had gone to this shop 4 times in a weeks span to finally compete this transaction. Extremely stunned and disappointed of how they handled this entire situation. read more

What do you want when you get tires? For me two things, I want to be in and out quickly and a decent price. One of the owners, John, is a real character, very nice guy. First time there, I was expecting to drop car off and come back in a few hours John was like "Oh no we will have you out of here in no time" Meanwhile the waiting room was packed. I was skeptical. Ok, so I originally wrote a great review about this place. I have decided to change it because I had to go back twice for the same problem (losing air in 2 tires). I am hoping that it is finally fixed. The first time I went, I was greeted at my door and my car was taken in immediately. The next time I wasn't greeted at my door, but it was still taken in right away. I get a little nervous with this place because it doesn't seem like there is a real communication system set up. I had to tell my tale to 3 people and then I wasn't sure that my car was finished because the guy just started working on another vehicle without a word. They probably know what they are doing, but its a little confusing for someone like me that expects to be told whats happening every step of the way and to see the person in charge knowing exactly what's going on. Go to them, but be prepared for their style. read more

I didn't really want to write this review because I have a lot of friends and family who use J&M for personal and business vehicles and love them. 3 stars for doing your job. More for doing it exceptionally, and less when you get your car back with pieces missing and getting no real effort to correct the problem. I took my girlfriend's Jetta in for 4 new shoes. Tires are great. I was in and out quickly and the prices were fair. I noticed later that afternoon that the 2 passenger-side VW center caps for the rims were not put back on. I took it back. They came out with 1 of them and told me the other probably spun off when drove away...while they were holding the other one in their hand. Right - maybe I looked like a moron and they thought I'd agreeably nod and accept that. Obviously one of the guys forgot both of them on the same side. No big deal - just make it right. Ok ok - we will get you a new one Mark tells me. Call back in a week or 2 and we should have it. After a couple attempts at calling back and getting the same run around from him - we'll get it, just call back cause it's kind of crazy and we need to find one - I'll be buying my own. Just an annoying experience at a place that came highly recommended. A simple and appropriate resolution would have resulted in a lifelong customer. Instead I'll be shopping around again in 30,000k miles or so. read more

I've been here twice and had a great experience both times. The first time my uncle was in from Michigan and had a slow leak on his van. My uncle is a retired pastor from a small church in MI so their budget is very tight. I was very concerned they were going to tell him he needed a new set of tires. Nope. It never even came up. The tires were fine and all the slow leak needed was a patch. 30 minutes and $20 later we were back on the road. This weekend my wife's car had a slowly as well. I took it in and got the exact same treatment. $20 in and out and 30 minutes. Also got great friendly service. They offered me coffee and coffee cake that was there for the employees. For those who aren't afraid to tackle the world of used tires. This place is the real deal. My neighbor suggested J&M to me after I needed an emergency tire replacement on a Subaru. This means, 4 tires no matter what, thanks to the symmetrical AWD feature. On a saturday at 1PM, I drove in to check out the scene. And within 15 minutes, had been greeted, explained my options and had my tires replaced and ready to go. They nailed my budget and provided a level of quality that I wasn't expecting. A couple of years ago I bought a set of tires here. Good price plus a 70,000 mile warranty. I was told to rotate them every 6,000 to 7,000 miles - which I did. J&M did the rotation for free. Everything was good until this last rotation where I was told I had "shit" tires in the front and I shouldn't be rotating but replacing. I was not-so-delicately being told the rotation schedule wasn't followed. I mentioned how these tires were warrantied for 70,000 miles and I showed the owner the purchase receipt and the tags I made for myself of the tire rotation (dates and mileage) - and that I had brought the car to J&M for the rotation. So either they didn't rotate my tires properly or the tires were defective. At that point I was told they couldn't do much about the warranty but I could get a great price on two new tires - installed. Despite the fact that the other two tires were still okay and I had 20% left of the warranty, I still had to purchase two new tires. I left rather disappointed. Especially because the owner was telling me that with all his tire experience he would have sworn the tires weren't rotated correctly - and still I got nothing from the warranty. read more

My Mercedes SUV had a nail in the tire so I went to J&M because a friend recommended it to me. A quick plug is $10.00 anywhere so i figured it can't be much more than that so I drove it into one of the bays went inside to wait. There was no price list for any service provided which should have given me a red light. When they were done I asked how much and the owner said $25.00. I said to the owner are you kidding. $25.00 for a plug??? He backed track and said well he put in a patch which is more expensive. I know they put in a plug because I saw them so the owner deliberately charged me more money because I was driving a Mercedes. That is just "wrong".........Needless to say I will never give them any biz again........It's places like this that give all mechanics and repair shops a bad name......I suggest you go somewhere else!!!! read more

this place went above and beyond for me this weekend, i was an hour into my traveling to Boston when my "low tire pressure" indicator light came on. We stopped into this place and they took me right in. checked all my tires and one of them the sensor was screwed up which put the light on-- they took it off- fixed it right up and aired up the remaining tires- took only about 15 minutes and they didnt charge me! needless to say the customer service was impeccable and worthy of me at least buying them coffee!! i Highly recommend them for the service and they are a great bunch of guys! Women bring your business elsewhere. As the mother of a baby girl I would not recommend this establishment. My husband called J&M to negotiate the purchase of four tires since the set we really wanted at Costco were special order and would take a few days to arrive. I had a bubble in my tire and wanted to address the safety issue right away. Costco had a better price but we went with J&M out of convenience. Also, who doesn't think it's a good idea to support small business. Bad move this time! My husband followed me to the shop with our baby, so that I could drop off the car, we planned to grab breakfast while the car was at the shop. I dropped off the key to the owner and simply asked how long it would take to complete the work. His response to me (within earshot of two male customers) "why, do you have a makeup convention to go to?" I'm still pretty shocked that a business owner would speak to a customer like that. If we hadn't already purchased the tires and didn't need them in a timely fashion I would have walked out. read more
