    Lazy Daze 2018
    Crystal H.

Of course I visited the town of Cary plenty of times before, but today was special. Today was the Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival. The festival featured a variety of art vendors, music, entertainment, and my personal favorite, food trucks! I made it a point to visit the Cousins Maine Lobster food truck. I'd heard rave reviews about their food so I thought I'd try it for myself. The menu consisted of several dishes featuring, you guessed it, Lobster! I decided on Lobster tots. I had to wait in line for 30 minutes in the blazing hot sun but those tots were well worth the wait!

-REBECCA PLATZ -JOHN DOUGLASS -ASHLEE DEAN I've had a few encounters with officers from Cary and I don't usually have a pleasant experience but today has been the best. I came across 3 different officers who helped me and they were all awesome

My house located a mile from downtown Cary in wonderful housing development. Very dog friendly && Lots of trees.

I think there's a sports ball thing going on somewhere, too. One person ahead of me and I gave the nice lady my order. The tacos came out pretty quickly, followed by the beer, cool and frothy from the tap. As I've mentioned before, there is a nice adult contemporary soundtrack that is neither background or overpowering. It just hits, and you can chat over it if you want. Or sing along. After a nice bike ride, I stopped in and ordered their three shrimp tacos. I've had them before, but they seemed even more amazing than past visits. Were the shrimp larger? Were there more of them? (4 per taco seems about right!) It was such a lot of food (added to the hazy IPA) that I had to take the last one to go. It may last the night. Or it may be breakfast. I think I've had their burger once. I'm such a sucker for grilled shrimp! Hehe. They have sides and apps as well, but I can't even finish the main!

And the staff is super attentive and friendly to everyone in the place. They have a new-to-me slogan - don't yelp, we're here to help - which I think is fantastic because it's all about giving people the opportunity to make things right, not bitching on social media. Definitely nothing to complain about tonight. This place is great. And I love their celebration of minds of all kinds.

Gotcha- it's cool though. Thanks for making me spend my time and money on preparing and buying suits or whatnot. Currently applying to Air Force and is WAY BETTER than anything this company can give you. Why even become a cop nowadays? Best of luck to anyone involved.... you'll need it. Glad I wasn't accepted to be honest. 3.8-4.0 GPA with an associate in science and criminal justice- but it's cool. Y'all missing out on some people just because they have better backgrounds than others? Sad shit. Ruined my experience wanting to become law enforcement- wanted to make a change in the community but that's obviously not what they're "looking for". Smh. Good luck finding more people for your company. I would say "I'll be waiting" but this ain't it. Y'all made me join the military so thank you very much. You opened my eyes in what you want, and or expect in people. Very sad..... Glad I can become a part of the Air Force and look back at this company and see how unfair it is. ACAB to my heart's content- and you can quote me. Sad shit- DO BETTER. This company made me from wanting to be an officer to hating the idea...... best of luck. I'll see you in Qatar- oh wait...... lmao. Y'all can't even leave your county.

The a Carrboro Town Commons, a special event space that is home to the Farmers Market, is also home to summer time concerts. After having experienced two of these events this summer, I feel like I have a pretty good feel of what you're going to get. Tickets are usually reasonably priced for these VERY crowded shows ($20 range). No outside food/drinks for shows but empty water bottles allowed (I got in a sealed water bottle too FYI). Bags are checked at the entrance where you're allowed to bring blankets but no lawn chairs (security was not very "strict", I don't think it would be difficult to bring something small in). Out of the two shows I've seen, one was an afternoon to evening [2:30-8ish] and the other was a evening start time [6-9pm]. I preferred the day show versus the night show for a couple reasons. Lines in the day were very short since a lot of people showed up closer to the header band in the evening. Re-entry was allowed during the day show, but not for the night show. The day show was in general less crowded as a hole versus the night show. Either way, make sure you read the "rules" of the show before you attend, it could very well save you some time and money. Also, not that the venue is CASH ONLY. If there's an enormous line for a product that you're dying to purchase, go to the front of the line and confirm it will still be there after 30+ people go through [this could also save some disappointment]. Overall, Carrboro Town Commons makes for a great summer time venue. There's shade under the Farmer's Market coverings and they set up water misters for those super hot summer days. Grab a group of friends and enjoy a show together.

Nicely maintained, adequately outfitted with trash cans, pet waste stations, signage, etc., the greenway offers an alternative to driving short distances along Morrisville-Carpenter Rd. by providing a pathway for non-motorized transportation/exercise. The Deets: Hatcher Creek Greenway (HCG) is an almost mile and half pedestrian walkway provided/maintained by the Town of Morrisville. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the greenway. This paved path runs parallel to Morrisville-Carpenter Road and along Hatcher Creek, and linked up with the Crabtree Greenway that provides access all the way to Lake Crabtree with the newly placed extension undercrossing running under Hwy 54/Chapel Hill Rd (however at the time of this writing, the path extension to Town Hall and to the one running under Hwy 54 to Lake Crabtree is not open to any traffic at all). This pathway is great for those wanting to exercise in a more scenic environment, get to Morrisville Community Park by foot, or even walk to the adjacent shopping center near the end of the west side of it. It is pretty well maintained, with benches, trash cans, pet waste stations, and good signage provided. There are also some good linkup connections with the housing complexes along the greenway for access. Use of the greenway is limited to daylight hours only, and there are rules/guidelines to follow (see the pic I nabbed of the greenway map and rules). I think HCG is a very nice way for the Town of Morrisville to provide for the community with good resources, and I enjoy using it.
