Understanding what you are getting into before entering Bugatti's is going to make or break your experience. If you go in with a good attitude wanting nothing more than dancing, you're going to have a good time. I wanted to play tourist, so I went solo to see what the place had to offer. This is my story. I paid $5 to get in on a very slow phase 2 opening night. No line. Friendly bouncer. Based on reviews, I was expecting techno. But, to be more specific, the DJ was playing house classics remixed with a future house sound, and he even had an electric guitar that he riffed over some bass lines that definitely added some depth to his set. Thirty people in the entire place. Everyone was definitely a house head. Vibe was pinnacle. Dress code was relatively lax, I saw dudes in shorts, sneakers, and tshirts. This might be due to the lack of business that night. I have yet to stumble on any official dress code so this is my two cents: If you're a dude and you want to minimize headaches at the door, I would recommend wearing some kind of khaki pants, collared shirt and avoiding sneakers. I was in town for another show that ended up ending early so we were looking for something else to do and unfortunately for us this was the only option available. I just wanna say that this place is a rip off going in the door they're gonna try to charge you a $60 membership and then after you pay that they're gonna charge you another entry fee to get in which is a total sham. The owner was the rudest person I have ever met. She literally was yelling at staff and costumer. You have to pay a $50 cover/membership for 6 months. The only way to get in is to be with a member and then pay $10 for 4 guest only. Included with the membership everyone must go through a full pat down as if you are being arrested. I have never met someone so rude in a mumu. Multiple people came out and was like why is there a line no one was in the club The staff at the front was kind and tried to explain everything until the RUDE LADY "Who is the only one allowed to yell" ( Her words) This is the worst experience I have ever had I can't believe this businesses hasn't been closed down as it seems really shady. It's nice that they are open til 5am, as most clubs and bars in this area close around 2am. You can only buy seltzers and beer after 2am which is fine, I was done drinking by that point so I didn't really mind but some of my friends do not drink those so it was a bit disappointing, but understandable. The dance floor is extremely small, and you will be packed like sardines in there. The music was good. A bad taste was put into my mouth and my friends before entering the club because the older woman working the front was disrespectful towards my entire group, did not want to help us get a membership or tell us how to pay to get in. She seemed very annoyed and hostile. We did pay for a membership thanks to someone else working the front. The "membership" you need in order to get in, it's very silly. It's $50 every 6 months but the people you bring (up to 4 people) still have to pay $10. It just doesn't make sense to have a membership and make it complicated to get in, upping the cover charge for everyone would make more sense. We were one of the first on the dance floor but soon after, the place was packed. The DJ played an amazing set and we were impressed with the song selection and transitions. The music could have been turned down a little bit with how the speakers are placed in the middle but the "side rooms" weren't as loud which helped. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. Worst bar in Norfolk. They make you pay for absolutely everything including checking every single coat and cardigan. My biggest issue with this place is the bouncers have to STAND AT THE BATHROOM DOOR, making eye contact with the girls in the bathroom. I frequent Bugatti's very often, as a bartender this is one of the few places in the 757 where you can enjoy some cold beers after 2am, good house music with DJ Fox in the booth, Debbi and Donna behind the bar are very nice and attentive also friendly and funny... I saw some reviews in regard of Security, well needless to say we ALL have jobs to do... you don't mess with them and behave, they there won't be any issues... Beer prices, well... It is an after hours nightclub after all... so there's that... Once we we were able to finally able to get cash at the slow atm (the only way to pay in 2023 at Bugattis) commented "well you were at the atm for 10 minutes" . $70 for three people to visit an after hours bar that smells like your creepy uncles basement and the owner looks like Carole baskin if she was severely ill and treats you like you just shat on her floor. Um, I don't remember much about this place, except that it's open past two and it has an oddly expensive cover charge. With all the flashing lights and the endless dance music, it felt like I was in a very small European club with a poor decorator. Can't say I'd recommend this spot, unless you're desperate for a drink after hours (and your fridge is empty). This is completely my personal opinion of this location. Terrible! In my opinion this whole place is a scam, everything is cash only and the business almost feels like an undercover location for something sketchy. In my opinion everything about it from the security people at the front hyping up the location to get you to sign up for a "membership" to the one lady who clearly owns the place that is the only one who handles the cash to get in is completely sketchy and scam like. If you go and see her you'll know who she is. She walks around in a mumu, in my opinion takes advantage of drunk people who have nowhere else to go and feels like she has the right to be extremely rude and mean. In my opinion the security gives off the vibe like they all know it is a scam but have no other option but to go along with it. In my opinion if you do make it in you'll wonder why there even is a line outside because there is NO ONE inside (this is allegedly from a friend who got in). Oh and in my opinion allegedly from my experience if you refuse the membership and to go in they will treat you horribly, crazy the switch up from trying to convince you to join. This place turned me into a hot mess and I loved every second. When the fluorescent lights flicker on at 2 am everywhere else and throw a perfectly de-soberfied me onto the streets I usually am far from ready to call it a night. Instead of hitting up IHOP along with the rest of the mass of sweaty goodness on the dance floor, my friends and I headed over to Bugatti's. They pulse with music until 6am, just about when I've lost the juice in my caboose. They play techno, which isn't typically my cup of tea, but when everywhere else is closed and you don't want to throw in the towel, it serves it's purpose. I might actually even say I only like techno at Bugatti's. It's a long, skinny club with dark corners and hallways, red paint, and an eclectic crowd. There's a $10 cover charge, but I didn't pout too much because it keeps things a little more members-only. It reminds me of a club that would be in Hostel without the creepers. My buddy told me about this place after we left the Norva and all the bars closed. Kept telling me it was "weird". You have to keep and open mind. Place is fun if your drunk and trying to have a good time. The bouncers at the door won't believe your finally home after a trip to Alaska to not have a cover, so don't try. If you're okay with dancing with creeps, having them put their hands on you, throw things at you, continue to follow you around the whole night after repeatedly turning them down, this might be the place for you. However after frequenting this club for a few months now with friends we were rudely spoken to by the owner after our last time there ( where two men were removed on account of us after one mushing me in the face with his middle finger and the other elbowing my friend on purpose and refusing to move away from us after asking while she was trying to dance JUST with us) and were told not to return because "women are always the ones causing problems in her club" her words. My friends and I used to go there to have a good time with each other, we move around all night to avoid the creepy men but they follow and can't handle rejection which causes problems. Bugatti's was extremely disappointing. They charge you for everything within 5 steps of walking into the place. An entrance fee, mandatory coatcheck (even for a sweater), and you can't wear a hat. It's not even a fancy club to be enforcing such ludicrous rules, especially since they allow anyone to dress how they want to in there. But what really annoyed me was how rude the bartender was near the entrance to the club. I asked her for a Long Island Ice Tea, and she completely dismissed me as if I should have known they don't sell alcohol to nonmembers. How you have to be a member in order to PURCHASE ALCOHOL IN A CLUB!! To finish it all off, the music was trash and the ambience was depressing. Don't waste your time in this place. He was acting completely unprofessional. The owner was standing in the doorway and she was not even stepping in to deal with the situation. When I showed up I told them I was there to DJ. I was spinning with another DJ who is already there. She told me since he was there she had no use for me. She then tried to get me to pay a five dollar cover. This place is ridiculous and is not even worth paying a cover charge for and I'm a local area DJ. This place is trash. The bathrooms are messy and the lock on the door doesn't work. The cover charge is way more than it at other places on a normal night (cover charge is $10) and one corona is $8. That's way too much for one beer. Plus they were "out of limes". Staff was rude. They had one person checking ids and one person taking the cover. I said hi to both and asked them both how they were doing. The security guard gave me attitude and the lady taking the cover didn't even respond. They are quick to kick someone out. Dude used his vape and then the security guard came and kicked him out. Could've fixed the issue with "just a warning". There was drama going on when my friends and we're leaving with like 6 or 7 people and a couple of the security guards. The main clients are those people that are wasted and it's there last ditch effort to party before they finally have to go home. I've been here on several occasions and each time I've gone I've hoped it's gotten better. It's usually a super sausage fest (so ladies beware) and they play the same edm. I personally believe if they fixed up the place a tiny bit and played music that the rest of the clubs on grandby play they would have a massive increase in earnings. This club. Is the best after hours club I have ever been to. Security is very tight but I enjoy the safety of the place. Their no nonsense. You behave or they say goodnight. I read some of the faked reviews and suspect lt's a competitor. The Club is a members club and they have certain rules that they must follow. Guests are admitted for a fee. I am a member and have been for 3 years, when I am deployed for periods, they always give me credit for time at sea. Last year a shipmate of mine was getting married. I told the manager about it and she suggested to have it there and I sponsored him and they donated everything they needed and didn't charge them a dime.
