Great little stop for delicious beer selection. I had pond surfer and loved it so much I got 4 to go home with. The atmosphere was great main floor is a bar rail with high chairs and upstairs is seating with tables and also couches to choose from. Only bout 20 seats up stairs. Found this hidden gem today! Great beer brewery! They have an amazing variety of great tasting beer! The decor is very nice and the staff is friendly. The only reason why I didn't give a 5 star rating is because of how the place is setup and didn't have much variety of food! You have to order your beer on the main floor and then have to carry it up a steep flight of stairs yourself where then have to find a table in a tiny space! Stairs and being buzzed don't mix very well! Lol! And also wished they would add some more variety of pub food for selection! Some wings would br a great addition! Just saying! I highly recommend this place for great beer, decent food and a casual atmosphere to play a variety of board games! We ordered 2 flights of beers to try as many beers as possible. My favorites were their short circuit IPA and their beet Juice sour - it sounds odd but it was perfectly balanced and delicious! We ordered a pizza to share and the carrot cake for dessert, both dishes were good. At the cash is a fridge with a selection of beers that you can buy by the can or in a four pack. Town Square Brewing has such a cool ambiance!! With views through the windows into the brewery from the top floor, stairs to the top deck looking over the bar, the inviting warm fireplace and faux bear skin chairs to snuggle up to are simply exquisite. The food is always fantastic and seasonal changing with some classics that stay the same! The craft beers are always really rich and distinctive. Every visit at Town Square Brewing has me exited to come back here again!! I was here more recently at the brewery and discovered they no longer have ACE Coffee on the menu. I am devastated !! I decided to try the new coffee on the menu and was a little disappointed. Hopefully ACE Coffee will make a come back soon. read more

Stopped by on a recent Saturday night and immediately couldn't believe we hadn't come earlier - this place is fantastic! Service was good. The staff were very friendly, stopped by to ask us if we wanted more beer when our glasses were almost empty, and overall did an excellent job. The beer we tried was excellent. We tried three different beers and all were good. I believe most of their beers are brewed onsite but they do have a number of guest taps. For dinner we got the dill pretzel to start. It was tasty, but maybe a little small. We tried the Soul Food pizza (chicken, maple butter, chilli and chives) which was a nice mixture of sweet and spice. The inside was nice, modern but simple overall. The place is located in a strip mall in south Edmonton which isn't easy to find, but overall the place is a gem for south Edmonton. My friend and i went here for dinner on a Friday evening. For some casual bites and more importantly beer and a relaxed, rustic atmosphere, this place is highly recommended. We got 2 chairs by the fireplace which we both really enjoyed! I tried the flight of beer and honestly every one I tried was delicious! The pond surfer California common and the wildgrowth lemongrass saison were a couple of my favourites. We both tried the soul food pizza (essentially chicken and waffle pizza). It was pretty delicious but was hoping for a few more toppings as some parts were just crust and a bit dry. We also tried the cheetoh mac n cheese which had a bit of kick to it. It was my personal favourite along with the beer. I plan to return again to try more of the menu! read more

Amazing! Go here! Go here! We got to experience this place through an event so we were able to meet and hear from one of the co-owners, who also gave us a tour. The space is modern and classy, with lots of seating and the upstairs kind of loft area is cozy but still quite spacious. We found the complex that this place was in was super full on the parking, but we still managed to find a spot. They had wonderful craft beer! Oh my goodness! And the food was incredible! They use the spent grains from the beer making process to make their pizza- so very cool! And the pizza had great punny names! A few notes on the beers: The berry squared has a blend of 4 different berries infused in two different steps- very cool. And their kettle sour is amazing!! Highly recommend!! Their amber beer is a collaboration brew- biscuit notes and a rye finish. To top this place off for me- they even had kombucha on tap! Yahoo! Loved the flavours I tried! read more

Great local brewery! Selection of taps are quite eclectic. We tried the air tractor Alberta ale, sterling silver Pilsner, and Master Splinter Amber Session. The Alberta Ale is recommended for its light taste and smooth. The Amber Session is recommended if you like a darker beer with more hops taste For our meal we had the guacamole & chips, and the taco sampler. The chicken and pork were the best. The steak wasn't great. The meat was a bit tough. Get the chicken and pork!! read more

Ok so I've heard of this place months prior to opening. I've been excited for something like this in my neighbourhood. The atmosphere when you first walk in is small. It's a neighbourhood place but with character. The beer is second to none and the food is off the hook! The pizzas that we had were combinations that I never ever would've figured would work but they did. They were outstanding! Tried a few beers and not one single beer would disappoint any tastes. The beer was so good I even took some home. Yes... Me the home brewer bought beer. I will be back for sure. Well today we were back. We stayed away for 2 weeks. I thought about the beer and pizza for the last two weeks. All I've wanted was that pizza! So today we had the dill hole to start. Then The Gus The Fun Guy Pizza. The onion jam is just such a flavour contrast to the salty prosciutto. The arugula is a wonderful touch too. Pair these both with a fantastic beer of your choice which I'm yet to try one I don't like. To anyone who reads this and wants to try this place remember it's closed Sunday and Monday. Evenings could be busy so be prepared for a wait especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. I will say it's well worth the wait though. Finally made it out to the YEG's most southerly brewery - Town Square! It was a great experience. They have a really cool space on 2 floors, with high ceilings, and a cool nook/fireplace area. It was a fun vibe on a Saturday night - good music, lots of laughs. & The Beer was excellent! Much MUCH better than their canned product IMO & great selection. 2 coffee beers, which I'm very much here for (coffee blonde & coffee dunkel - a Rogue Wave collab) as well as your full range of everything from NEPA's to Porters. We tried their "Dill hole" Dill pretzel, and the hummus & flat bread. The pretzel was tasty, heavy on the Dill & a unique take on the bar pretzel. The hummus - I'm not too sure what was going on there lol. Maybe a little too unique! I didn't taste any garlic, lemon or tahini but it did feature olives, pico & feta. Our friends got the chicken tacos & turkey sandwich, which they raved about. Service was great (though we did end up with a mix up on the growler fills) & it was a really fun trip. The atmosphere of this cute little brewery restaurant is a little bit misplaced with it's suburban location. It is in a strip mall on the south side of the city, and you would totally confuse it with the other stores in the parking lot if you didn't know what you were looking for. We visited on a Saturday night, and it was pretty deserted, which doesn't indicate great things, but we had a nice visit. Our service was very slow, and we weren't offered water at all, but since my group was not in a hurry I wasn't too annoyed. There is limited indoor seating, and board games to play while you wait. We got a table on the upper level, and I liked watching people below, as well as storm clouds roll by through the large windows. The restaurant makes bread and pizza dough out of their spent grains from making beer, and the chicken sandwich I got was super delicious. The bread was soft, the chicken was fresh and the toppings (pears and brie cheese) were unique and well balanced flavor wise. We had thought that the pizza would be a clear choice, but the menu was lacking in simple pizza options that didn't have loads of ingredients on them. My impression is that they were trying too hard, but sometimes I just want a plain pizza. The one major disappointment of Town Square was the beer. I did a tasting flight of four to get a sense of what their beer was like, and I honestly didn't like any of them! Their amber ale tasted so much like coffee I went and asked if there was coffee in it; I tried one of the sour beers that was described as not at all sour by our server (it was, and it was not good). I also tried their two popular New England IPAs, both of which were too acidic or tart tasting. It was disappointing that they didn't have a nice drinkable lager, as all their beers had a sharp or strong taste to them. I loved the food, and had a great time, but since this is a brewery, and I didn't like the beer, I have to give three instead of four stars. read more

This was on my list of places to try, but I could not remember why so I did not know what to expect. It is a cool little place where they make beer and pizza, what could be better. There is a small bar on the first floor where they sell beer and you can go up to the mezzanine to sit and eat. They have about 8 beers on tap they make and a couple of outside beers. The beer I had was a nice light lager with a hint of hoppy bitterness. And the pizza was some of the best in the city. They have a thin crust and quality toppings. They make a few other things too, but the menu is pretty small, but it all looks good. I cant wait to go back read more

It would be easy to overlook this place as it's tucked away in a strip mall. Once inside it's full of unique charm. They offer a variety of craft beers, mostly brewed in house with a couple of rotating guest taps. The food looked delicious - I'm kicking myself for not ordering pizza! I'll need to go back to try it. I had chicken tacos - the portions were small but they were so tasty and reasonably priced. My husband had the farm sandwhich (I think) - freshly baked bread with a salad. We'll be going back to try more menu items. As for the beef - we each tried a flight. Hmmmmmm. I've heard good, I've heard bad, I wanted to see for myself. Popped in for a beer or two and a pizza on a Monday night, place was half full. Interesting layout, bar counter on lower level with kitchen, restaurant area above bar up a flight of stairs, from the second level you can see the beer making facilities. Lone employee was working the bar on the main level and the tables on floor 2, I'm sure by the end of the night her quads were aching. Anyway, beer is really good, I've had a few of theirs and they make some real quality brews. We started with a dill pretzel, which was chewy, flavorless dough with half a McCormicks dill seasoning bottle mixed into the dough. The pizza? Meh. I found it really bland and boring, since that's what their menu mainly consists of, you would think it would be quality stuff, not so much. Very good beer, very bland food. Can't believe this was my first visit to this beautiful little brewery and that I never knew about it before Saturday! This is such a chilled out little spot, somewhere where you can chill out, catch up with some friends over a nice beer and maybe a pizza because they looked phenomenal! My husband and myself both ordered the 4 samplers, I loved that we were able to pick which ones that we wanted from the menu. We also ordered the chicken dip which was delicious. A bit out of the way and located in a strip mall you will find this newish brewery. We went here for an early dinner with some friends. I was able to try a selection of their beers and enjoyed them all - none were stand out but all were tasty. We also got appetizers - the meat/cheese platter, pretzels - and a pizza to share. All of the food was quite good. If it wasn't such a far drive I would visit this place regularly. They allow children but not pets. Great place if ur a beer lover. They only been open for a few weeks. The Grand Opening is scheduled for November. I can comment on the beer because I don't drink it. So my review is solely on food, atmosphere and service. It's a small cosy place to relax with ur friends and enjoy beer. I had the calzone and pizza. The dough was made from the sugars extracted from brewing process. It was the best tasting pizza dough I've ever tasted. The flavor wasn't heavy but very light tasting. Make sure you try out the teas they offer. Very good tasting! The service was a little slow I think that's because the servers are still learning. The prices on the menus may not be the actual price so make sure you verify the price with your server. I order something for 10 dollars and was charged 13. I was happly refunded once I brought it to there attention. Why the difference? Not sure, maybe they are in the process of updating their menus. I didn't ask. I recommend you try them out. I gave them 3 stars because of the service but I'm sure they will improve with time. read more

You know the place is good when you cannot stop eating the leftover pizza your husband brings home after a guys night out. BTW, it was The Night Watch pizza - soooo good. My husband was so impressed with this place he decided to take my son and I out for lunch there. Super happy with the kombucha and beer choices, my husband could not stop raving about the flavor and fragrance of the beers (he's tried a few). Husband's calzone was delicious and my son's bread twist was so fresh, he could not stop eating it. My chicken sourdough sandwich was a tad on the cold side - cold chicken on cold sourdough. I felt like it was totally over shadowed by the very delicious side salad. I did make some comments to the owner and they are super open to suggestions so I'm looking forward to more inventive food at this Southside establishment! Town Square brewing is a micro brewery . On my first visit to the brewery I had the opportunity to taste all of the 10 different feature beers because I won a beer tasting and tour in a raffle. Brandon, (an owner) was friendly and knowledgeable about the different beer and the process used to obtain the different flavours . The master brewer showed us the equipment and explained the process involved in production. The production area was incredibly clean . We found the staff very pleasant and accommodating. The beer that I took home had so much more flavour than most commercial beer . I came back the following week with friends and enjoyed some items from their unique menu. The dining area is small and rustic and just a very pleasant place to hang out and chat with friends. Although I've never been an avid beer drinker I will return to buy beer from this brewery in the future. read more

Went here for the first time about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Bought 3 growlers (one at a time and a different beer each time) and shared with friends. The decision is unanimous. Service was on the low end of okay. When we arrived the servers didn't acknowledge us for about 7 minutes. Once we ordered, we ordered two flights - one of everything - and somehow that ended up getting screwed up. Suffice it to say I was pretty disappointed by that. Plus for a brewery their beer was not as good as I was expecting (the Stouty McStout Face tasted like bitter dirt - very disappointing). HOWEVER, the pizza and the plain Jane twist were amazing and I would probably come back just for that. Really cool interior , but that's what the two stars are for! Took the last available chair at the small bar on a Friday night. That seat was at the beer mat, on the bar, which the two bartenders chose to ignore and not move! Even though the it was not busy, it took a long time for one of the bartenders to acknowledge me. Asked to sample a few beers, and finally settled on a beer. Then, I ordered a "pretzel", which was actually a baked, rolled up piece of dough, for which I enjoyed the privilege of paying $8.00 for! I asked a few questions about their beverages, and between flirting with another gentleman at the bar, one of the two female bartenders would mange a smile and shrug their shoulders at my question. I asked about one of their beverages in particular and she couldn't tell me anything about it! At least make up a story! Beers are average. Wouldn't drive across the metropolis of Edmonton for again. I always like to add to my beer glass collection, and since they have a cool logo, I purchased one. Was handed to me in a bag, no bubble wrap or newspaper around beer glass. An incredible array of locally brewed beers - the orange creamsicle nitro IPA was truly unique and delicious. So smooth. Great space for kids with board games and colouring available. The craft brewed soda could be a bit more flavourful and the pizza we had was good, but not worth the trip (this is way south for us). Townsquare is a neat pizza place with incredible beers. The pizzas are made from the grains after the brewing process so the crust have a very unique taste and they change slightly week to week when the beer being brewed that week changes. The beer is incredible, they have a line up of 4 regulars that are great, and usually another 4 rotating seasonal tap. read more

Amazing new brew pub in the city! Went here Saturday afternoon for beers and some food. The staff was attentive and helpful with selections. We had the pizza and salads, which were big excellent. The pizza was just the right combination of crispy and soft, and the mushroom flavour was great. The twists were so tasty, the flavour of grain really came through! As for the beers we each had a flight (4 5oz each). My personal favourites were the sour (wonderful citrus notes ) and the New England IPA (perfect balance of hops) We also had our 2 year old with us and not only did they have a high chair (not usual in small places!) they had a selection of toys and colouring books for her! Awesome arrival to the south side scene. We went during the soft opening and found very solid in-house brews, plus selection from other craft breweries in town (Situation, Blind Enthusiasm). The fungi pizza was outstanding, and we filled a full-size growler to take home for cheap ($12). Definitely a step above the chains in the area--more like a downtown/124 St vibe but closer to home. read more

I would like to start with stating that this is my first ever yelp review and I downloaded the app and created an account to write this. The food is really delicious but the service is the worst I have ever received. The service is extremely slow, ineffective and oblivious. It took over an hour for us to be seated, I understand waiting but when we got upstairs they clearly have a bunch of staff congregating extremely loudly taking up 3 tables (this is a third of their seating). The whole set up of the upstairs is completely inefficient, if they want to be successful and maximize sales remove the pointless seating area and you can add a minimum of 3 tables. I have been a few times as the food is so great but I will never come again although it's super close to home because the service is so poor and simply frustrating. read more
