Jef's Cafe - The Reuben Sandwich for $8.95 in 2021. The bread is not burned, the black part is marbling in different patterns.

Beaumont has a well kept secret called Jef's Café and I may be visiting Beaumont more frequently…read morenow that I've tried it. The first pleasant surprise was the location. It's on the west side of the main road through town and very close to the big church on the hill. Jef's is easy to find and you can park on the street right in front of the café for free. The café is bright and has several tables of different sizes. You walk up to the counter and the menu is up on the wall. I ordered a Reuben Sandwich and brewed coffee . The coffee was delicious and well above average for a café. Their menu said a refill is $1.60 but perhaps it's free if you order a sandwich because she brought me a refill without my even asking for one. I was glad because one just wasn't enough. My Reuben took a while but that's because they made it from scratch and hand made takes longer than fast food from a microwave. I would say that it has tied for the best Reuben in greater Edmonton. There was lots of sauerkraut which is just the way I like it. The price was very reasonable at $8.95. Really the only thing I can complain about is that the WiFi was not working. I'm sure that was a temporary problem as they do have guest WiFi. I didn't try anything from the pastrie counter but there were lots of tasty looking treats in there. You can be certain that I'll be returning to Jef's Café very soon and I recommend that you try it as well.

The smoothies are tasty but loaded with sugar but why you having a smoothie at McDonald's. You think you're on a diet eating here ffs. Service is always good I guess that's what McDonalds is known for. Honestly I don't know why I'm still writing this review. Day off and bored waiting for the adhd meds to kick in. I still don't understand how chicken nuggets are so expensive I'm more than Positive they mix pork in them you'd never know. Why do they always forget the sweet and sour sauce. But I guess it's good they have it kids were so disappointed coming back from vacation from the USA and they didn't have it. BTW the world's largest McDonalds isn't worth the trip. If probably review it 5 stars to but not really worth it. I honestly just went there for the pizza. Ambiance in McDonalds is like they tried hard to be a Starbucks but then let the kids in and they ruined it. But we need a place for the kids. RIGHT? Anyway coffee good, food what you'd expect. It ain't gourmet but it gets you out of the house and it's better than cooking your self or eating out of a can. Honestly cheaper than making your own food plus 4 times the calories. But that's why this place is awesome. If we could get Wendy's drink sizes who'd ever leave. We all be like pearl from the blade movie living in the basement. Oh look so thing shiny.

The reason for the 2 stars is because I have had to many bad experiences. Under cooked chicken burger was disgusting manger gave me a new burger and coupon he even looked disgusted at the chicken burger. But my biggest complaint was the younger workers they seem as if they couldn't even care less. I've also had many bad coffees and hot chocolates, some tasted as like didn't clean there machines and some tasted just like hot water. I just went and got breakfast yesterday April 26, 2019 finally after many months of avoiding this place and it actually seems like this place might be improving a little bit different staff which where much more helpful. Keep improving and I can rate this better then 2 stars.

My wife and I ordered dinner for us and one of our children. She got the lasagna, I ordered the hot chicken sandwich (which came with fries) and my son ordered the maple bacon smash burger which came with fries as well. Portion size was huge, price was absolutely at that sweet spot of value (that's hard these days!) and the flavours were incredible. We topped it off with a maple walnut cheesecake with raspberry compote and a sweet masala drizzle - delivered by the head chef, Jeevan - what a way to end the night! Of course we can't forget the service! Our server, Hayden, was prompt, attentive and very knowledgable of the menu, in spite of the restaurant only being open a few weeks already. Overall, their complete lack of usual "kinks" to iron out when a new restaurant opens seems due to their accountable and personable front-of-house, competent and seasoned kitchen and head chef Jeevan. Definitely no need to wait to go visit them!
