The food and drinks are unlike anything else in Fort Worth -- and honestly even Dallas. Inside, you are hit with beautiful hostess who " highly recommend" reservations, or at least call ahwad to see if one is needed. The greenery and gold are the most exquisite beautifulness together. Seating is beautiful, and so is the bar. Definitely a luxery experience. Now to dinner: Theoysters, fish dip, rib eye, lamb, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, chocolate cake, and French 75s were more than a 10. I could eat it all again, but I will definitely put emphasis on the mashed potatoes.... theyre new to the menu, and theyre excellent!!! After seeing so many posts, we finally made our way to The Mont! Can't wait to return for dinner. Today we had the kiddo with us, so we stuck to the happy hour menu on the patio. First off -- what a beautiful restaurant. The patio is so nice, and the TV was a bonus for my husband Our waitress was great and super accommodating. There's no official kids' menu, but they do have options if you ask. My son had the chicken tenders and tots -- a decent portion and they tasted good. My husband and I tried the HH oysters, the burger, and the fish dip. Everything was quite tasty. We're already planning a return visit! I visited for the first time for Valentine's Day. The location is a little random with not much around but I'm sure in a couple of years there will be more. Service was great, no complaints. The server was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is very romantic so perfect for date night. The food was good but not great. I prefer my steak on its own but that's a personal preference as I am not a bread person. My fiancé loved the beef Wellington. Scallops were a little fishy but I loved the sauce. The chocolate cake was good but I prefer a moist texture. The take home loaf was Amazing. I fought my fiancé for his because I loved it so much. The service was great we had numerous people making sure we were taken care of. The money bread was really good. The outside had a nice crunch to it and the inside was gooey. Yes, the drinks were a little slow but you're at a nice restaurant for the night, just relax and enjoy your company! We got drinks, the hush puppies, wedge salad, the cow (pictured), risotto (pictured), Brussel sprouts, mushroom dumplings, white bolognese, date cake and the chocolate dessert. All was fantastic but the mushroom dumplings were a little small. The best part of the night was our waitress Morgan. She was attentive, kind and helped accommodate a pregnant friend. I don't need longhorns and rusted metal, but I do need it feel a little more comfortable for a long time Fort Worth guy and his crew. Turn the music down, and maybe a little less club style music. At least play some music that fits the ambience of a high end restaurant. La Pulga ranch water was $30 with mostly ice. The cheapest entree on the menu was a $41 yard bird. Now it was tasty, but hard to feel good about fried chicken over $40. Deviled eggs for apps... decent, but there were 3 of them and they were $23. Come on! My recommendation is skip the Mont. The husband picked TheMont for our Friday night date and I was excited to this new modern dining location. The parking scene is a little tight but we are True Texans & drive a larger truck so I'll compromise. The ambiance was great, & I could tell right away the designer was very deliberate in setting up the dinning and bar area. Overall, we had a wonderful time in a side booth. Im in town from Los Angeles, normally I visit Dallas. I loved venturing over to Fort Worth to dine here. Barbara took amazing care of us but almost everyone stopped by the table to make sure we were comfortable and accommodated. The seafood platter was beyond generous for the price point, the steak was melt in your mouth tender with an incredible rub and sauce. Have had the pleasure of eating at The Mont several times and would say it has exceeded expectations every time. The tomahawk ribeye is fantastic, (I've had it twice for the table) as are all of the steak offerings. Seafood platter appetizer is also an excellent choice. I'm not the expert for the bar as I'm a bourbon guy, and they happen to have two of my favorite, so all good there. Second time at The Mont...it's not really near my neighborhood, but has a great view and stunning interior, so my girls group decided to give it a try. Of the four of us, I was the only one who had already been there. We had a 6:15 reservation. It's loud. When I say loud, I mean almost concert loud. We constantly had to repeat ourselves, the waitress couldn't hear us, it was frustrating. Food was good. Pate was tasty, cured salmon was well prepared, wedge was fresh, but had some unidentifiable small things on it. Steak lacked flavor. Parsnips were good. Bread "course" is served in kind of a large strange bowl, but they do offer gluten free bread, so I appreciated that. Drinks were timely for the most part. No salt and pepper on the table-always annoying to me. Awkward cutlery. We had 3 drinks each, 3 apps, 2 salads, 2 entrees and a side. $600 for 4 people. I'll go back but only right when they open. My first review was a few weeks ago and I was considerably more generous than I'm going to be right now. We thought we would give it a second chance as they are relatively new and they came out with some new fall courses. But our meal could not have been worse. It's too bad, because the atmosphere and the bar scene is great but a restaurant has to have good food and that's what they lack. Where do I begin? First of all, and this is a relatively small complaint, but their martinis glasses are half size. Little dainty glasses that may have been used in the 1940s. But at $19, it feels like a serious rip off and that's just the beginning. I think it's important to mention the good first, so I will say that the lobster hush puppies were actually good. They just needed more of the sauce. There was just a smear of the sauce and that wasn't enough. My Chicken liver pate literally must've been sitting out on the counter for hours because it had brown edges. When I showed it to the manager, I asked him what he thought was wrong, and he said, "What? Is it green?" (I swear to God.) needless to say, I sent it back and incredibly they said there was no fresh pate to bring out. (And we arrived at 630pm So, I can only assume I was served at least day old pate...Disgusting!!) The deviled eggs that I gave rave reviews to last time, now had brown yolk. Talk about unappetizing! They were very bitter tasting. They should not have changed the eggs because they were actually good before. Main courses: The Cluck. Probably the best thing that we had, but the chicken was still very dry. The duck: I sent it back because it was like a salt lick (seriously, I had some else at my table taste it and they wanted to spit it out) also, There were some weird green looking tortillas and some kind of pickle salsa that was supposed to go with it. Strange. Maybe it was supposed to be eaten like Peking Duck?? Not even in the ballpark! It definitely did not translate. The fish that a friend had was undercooked and fishy. A bad combo. He couldn't eat it. The venison schnitzel was least edible. None of us ordered a dessert because there was nothing on the menu that was enticing. I live in the neighborhood where The Mont is and we are in dire need of decent restaurants in this area, but you can't live on atmosphere alone. We had such high hopes, but I'm not sure they can deliver no matter how much time they have. By the way, the waitress said that the chef is a spiritual man and blesses the food, which sounds nice, but I don't think even God can help this place. read more

I have been to The Mont 3 times. 1 time in the dining room and the other 2 times sitting at the bar. The Mont is pricey for the quality of the food and drinks. Very stingy with the alcohol. Service is sub par. If you want a nice romantic dinner and drinks, do not go there as the volume of the music is very loud. We complained multiple times and the manager would turn it down and then several minutes later the music would be loud again. The atmosphere music and decor is absolutely stunning. The ceviche was amazing. Although it was offputting for me is that they would not even try to make accommodations or substitutions for my dietary restrictions and all . I have never been to a restaurant that could not accommodate my dietary restrictions within reason. I asked if they could make my scallops without butter, as having lifelong dairy and gluten allergies I understand this may sacrifice seasoning and taste. Even if that just means cooking it in oil and salt instead of its original seasoning. I understand that some things are pre-mixed and cannot be accommodated....but being such a high end restaurant, I would hope that they'd offer a solution but it felt like a general unwillingness to help. I was told it could not be made without butter and that the sides were prepared as is and could not be made with without butter as well. I was forced to get a side that I did not enjoy. Overall, I just wasn't a pleasant experience as my dietary accommodations could not even be slightly altered nor recommendations made, which was disappointing. When this was brought to the manager's attention and she stood 10 toes down on butter, not being able to be removed. read more
