Management seriously needs to check this lady. Something is off her head like I said I've been here for 10 years and she is always an issue. On my way out the lady behind me even told me how ridiculous that whole interaction was. Put her in the back of the store or somewhere where customers aren't because I spend at least 300 a week here and won't be anymore.

Some of the fruit looked like it had been sitting there for days! Not at all like the one in Vacaville. Which has been one of the best I have been to so far. The produce is always fresh and looking nice there. You can always tell... when a store takes pride in their produce. The staff were friendly and helpful. Yet, the fact that there was a store full of employees working. Yet, they only had one cashier working. With a line of about eight people and it was going very slow. Why no one called for another cashier. I have no clue. Especially since more than one employee came up to the cashier. While the line was getting longer. Yet, no one stepped in to help. One of them seemed to be the manger. It's like being at a bank with teller and a manger just standing there doing nothing. Customers were upset and complaining. I did my best to just ignore the fact that it was going so slow. This is one location thatI don't plan on going back to. WinCo normally does a better job than this. What other butcher counter does that? Hello to the fresh sturgeon steaks that called my name. My favorite fish is very hard to find and super expensive. These steaks per pound seemed way cheaper than any other meat or fish since this economy jumped into the handbasket. The sturgeon was delicious grilled and seasoned with a little duck fat oil amd lemon. I also got some enormous thick loin lamb chops and some veal stew to make my mother's fabulous veal saute (on the stove as we speak) recipe. They had real almond macaroons and an amazing assortment of Ukrainian, Russian, and Armenian delicacies and staples. When I came in for my interview, the owner flat out, asked whether I was married. I found that question odd and said I was married. After that, the interview felt over, he didn't ask any more questions about my experience or anything at all in fact. He took a phone call, paced around while talking, didn't tell me to wait, and then opened the door as if I should leave. I tried to hand him my résumé; he only nodded and didn't take it, so I left it on his desk and walked away. He never called me back, which didn't surprise me. My friend later said that once he found out she was engaged he would make passive aggressive jokes about her fiancé, questions like "Who is this fiancé you keep talking about?" or "When's the wedding? It's been a while." She often felt uncomfortable around him. About a month ago I went in to buy a cake. I'm not familiar with Slavic cakes, so I asked to try a piece. The worker let me taste it, and I asked them to cut it in half so I could buy one piece. At other Slavic stores (including this one), unless a cake is sold boxed, they'll cut to size. When she cut it, she then insisted I had to buy both half. I told her I only wanted one; she got irritated and said she'd get in trouble because the leftover half was small. If it's sold only whole, that should have been stated up front when I ask to cut them. I ended up spending about $50, which felt excessive. My aunt was upset too and said the worker had lied and forced me to buy the other half. The store itself is okay. Don't buy the potatoes, they're often rotten or moldy. They always have beets and dill, which is great. I love the hot food staff; they're always sweet, friendly, and patient!

And as you browse down the aisles, you'll see things you've never seen before. Hell, a lot of the products are in Burmese only, with maybe an English sticker on the back. That's how authentic and unique we are talking here. Fermented laphet, both whole and grounded, for tea leaf salad. Cans of pickled vegetables you've never seen before. Condiments. Fried garlic crunch. Instant noodles. More pickles and shrimp cake in the fridge. These are not things you'll find in the nearby major Asian supermarket. And if you find yourself with too much fermented tea leaf at once, well, I have sesame dressing at home, and my go to is noodles dressed with the sesame dressing for a good base flavor, with the laphet added for a twang in the flavor, and cilantro added for freshness. Because they sell laphet by the bag on the shelf, and that's a lot, but they also sell them in packet bundles on the stand near the door, and the packets are super powerful, at least when you're cooking for just a bachelor.

Love the layout of this Trader Joe's!…read more As usual there were a lot of shoppers in Trader Joe's. But it did not feel crowded even though I visited on a popular shopping day and time. If I were at my Folsom, Trader Joe's, I would be shoulder to shoulder with shoppers :-). The store was well stocked. Except for cottage cheese. I have found Folsom Trader Joe's to routinely be out of cottage cheese also. It is the best tasting cottage cheese I have ever had. I guess a lot of people feel the same. Additionally, this area, like Folsom and surrounding nearby areas, is experiencing a large population explosion. And I am sure it is a challenge to keep shelves filled. When I checked out, I asked about the seemingly different layout of this particular TJ and the chronic cottage cheese shortage. The checker said that cottage cheese disappears so fast they're only allowed to put out one pallet a day. And he confirmed that the layout is different than most Trader Joe's because they have a very creative, awesome manager who is really good at those type of things! Like my TJs in Folsom... customer service is wonderful here. And parking sucks:).

I've been to this store a few times because Rusch park is down the street and when my husband plays softball, this is a go to spot because of the convenience of purchasing snacks, food and drinks. I love how organized this store is. The staff who work here are kind and friendly. I love how clean this store is as well. You can spot a courtesy clerk making frequent sweeps throughout the store. I do suggest you check out this Raley's in Citrus Heights if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed!

Atmosphere - Fairly large location and it looks like they are expanding. Service - N/A, self service. Price - Depends on what you buy. But Raley's is usually slightly more expensive than their competitors. But that is the cost for quality. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1935 with your 129 locations (since 2020) and still privately owned!
