I rarely give 5 stars, but I can't see any demerits here. We had an unexpected (i.e., not so fun) trip to Auburn and booked a room on the way to town. Thankfully, summer and no football weekend. Room is spacious. Pull-out couch. Full-size refrigerator. Pet friendly. Pool. Clean and spacious workout area. Breakfast that really is breakfast, including the standards (waffles, cereal, apples, yogurt, coffee, apple and orange juice) and scrambled and boiled eggs, omelettes, pork and turkey sausage, oatmeal, grits (with available cheese), bread, bagels, peanut butter, white and chocolate milk ~ lots. Indoor and outdoor seating. They say you can borrow spices and some cooking tools/bowls and use the grill. Rooms were clean and spacious. The placement of the plugs in the rooms keeps chargers in view so as not to be forgotten when you leave. Paul Mitchell products in bath. Netflix. Room configuration was great ~ conducive to work and sleep. Our room was plenty quiet. We needed extra sheets (okay, that could be a demerit ~ a full set of sheets for the pull-out couch could have been available in the closet, instead of just the mattress cover and bottom sheet and pillow case for the absent pillow). Nevertheless, the front desk staff happily and efficiently provided the requested items. At the end of a long, "life happens" day, this was a welcome rest that allowed us to refresh and start anew. Darling Daughter thought the art was weird.

We enjoyed an overnight stay at this hotel in Auburn. The hotel staff was super friendly, the continental breakfast was solid and the room was clean. I am only taking a star away as the walls are a bit thin so we could hear our neighbors and I'm sure our neighbors heard our 1 year old crying at 3AM lol. This is a solid safe choice located near the university.

Very, very clean hotel with modern furnishings. It's new so everything is in good condition. I hope they keep it up. Most of the other hotels in the area are run down due to the sports fans, imo. Please don't let it happen to this hotel! Only problem was that I requested extra towels & pillows and they weren't in my room. I was a late arrival and didn't feel like waiting forever for HK to bring them. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good, with a lot of selection but no bacon? There was sausage but it was steamed? Anyway, this will be my go-to hotel whenever I stay in Auburn again. I included a couple of pics of the bathroom as the website did not have any on thedouble queen room. 6/21/17

Hotel cleanliness is sub par. Rooms need renovation- used to be a nice place but they have ran it into the ground. Disappointing.

From the moment we arrived, the service was on another level. At check-in we were offered a drink, and instead of just handing us a key and pointing to the elevator, someone personally walked us to our room and showed us around the property. I have never experienced that before at a hotel, and it immediately set the tone for the entire stay. The hotel itself is absolutely immaculate. Everything feels polished, calm, and thoughtfully designed. You can tell that every detail was intentional, from the atmosphere of the lobby to the way the staff interacts with guests. One thing that really stood out were the luxury touches throughout the room. The amenities included Bulgari soaps, body wash, and even perfume, which made the whole experience feel elevated the moment you walked into the bathroom. The marble soaking tub and spacious shower made the space feel more like a private spa than a typical hotel bathroom. Even outside the room, the design details continue. Right by our door there was literally a small moss garden built into the hallway area, which was such a unique and calming touch. At that point I was joking they might as well add a mini waterfall by everyone's door because the atmosphere was already that peaceful. They also offer thoughtful touches during the day like dessert hour, which made the stay feel even more special. It wasn't just a place to sleep -- it felt like a full experience. As someone who works in hospitality and kitchens, I naturally notice service and details more than most people. I have to say this hotel truly impressed me. This is honestly the level of hotel I would want to run or build one day. What I loved most is that everything felt warm and welcoming, not stiff or overly formal. The staff genuinely made you feel taken care of. If you're visiting Auburn and want a stay that feels luxurious, thoughtful, and memorable, The Laurel Hotel & Spa absolutely delivers.

Having been to Thrive Coffee and even in the lower floors for Auburn events I was not exactly sure how to get into it. However, there is a separate valet entrance. We were greeted immediately by a host who showed us around and brought us to the 6th floor to The Library where we were given lemonade with an option to spike it. This was not a wait in line for someone to help you. This was a concierge service the whole time. Our host brought us to the room and showed us around, who doesn't love an iPad to control your thermostat, your blackout shades, tv, and music. The room is deathly quiet. You can actually hear yourself think. The marble bathroom with the tv in the mirror, the separate water closet, shower, and bathtub with Bvlgari amenities is stunning. The bed is uber comfortable with high thread count sheets. The bar cart with items for mixed drinks is something I have never seen in the thousands of room nights ai have stayed all over the world. All and all this is a treasure. I hope I am able to stay here many more times. If you have an Amex Platinum card they have outstanding amenities that were available at this point...including free valet parking, free breakfast, and $100 voucher for restaurant or spa.

The design of the hotel is something that is hard to compare to anything else. Full auburn theme, colors and details like stitching throughout the rooms. It appears like an extreme concept on the surface, yet, it's executed beautifully. This is not your run of the mill Westin or Hilton, it's a property with a lot of character and building something like this could not have been cheap. It feels bespoke and hits well above its price point. The rooftop bar is a venue on its own, providing incredible views of Auburn and a very reasonably priced wine selection. The food there is mediocre, but it's a great spot for drinks. Downstairs is a coffee shop, Bo Jackson's Beans, which maintains the design aesthetic and completes the lobby in a great way. The team is quick to respond and is very efficient to all guests needs. All around, this is a gorgeous boutique hotel that isn't just unique, but deeply rooted in Auburn culture.

Added another night & front desk ok on phone. Prices are high but staying by 85 is not recommended in my opinion. Nice to walk downtown. One young woman at the front desk walks away when people come up. Not great & sets a tone for the hotel. Recommend staff training & mgmt be present as mostly young staff running the place. Great potential if more customer focus people.

I like that you can use the Hilton app to choose your room, so with all those factors, we chose one of the fourth (top) floor. The room was clean, and it was better updated than a lot of hotels we've visited lately. I did like that the in-room coffee offered was a pod system so we didn't have to make an entire pot. The hotel does offer breakfast for an additional fee ($7.95) if you aren't a certain level of Hilton Rewards member. It wasn't something we needed, so I really didn't pay attention to it, though I did see a nice table of coffee and beverages in the lobby as part of it. There is a Waffle House pretty much within walking distance, so there is something nearby if you prefer. There are also several restaurants nearby, and it's easy to get on/off the interstate nearby.

He wanted to be sure whomever he was speaking with, knew that he'd call them back just as soon as he could get rid of me. He was short and acted bothered during our brief encounter. I wiped the hard surfaces down and my wipes were dirty afterwards. I can only imagine what's in the carpet and drapes. They didn't even bother vacuuming the room as evidenced by the candy and wrappers that remained underneath. The carpet was also stained very badly. I literally booked this hotel because I needed a few hours of sleep when my kids and I got stuck in deadlocked traffic. I paid $150+ for the worst room I've ever stayed in. I didn't sleep a wink because I was so uncomfortable because of the subpar conditions of the room. **See pics of underneath the beds.
