We only stayed here because it was a Hilton hotel, BUT let me tell you this is NOT your normal Hilton, it is not even close! The rooms are so small they don't even have a closet to hang your clothes in! No microwave No coffee pot, the room was dirty see attached pictures. We were so tired from driving and it was so late at night to find another place to stay or we would have, the next morning was not any better with their breakfast it was the bare minimum and they kept running out of food yet there weren't that many people at breakfast? It was a Tru Hilton disappointment for sure. read more

This hotel is always a good place to rest your head and when traveling to or through the Auburn area. It's conveniently located just off I-85. The rooms are a little small, but they're always clean. The spacious lobby is pretty amazing with a pool table, lots of seating, and food for sale. But above all, the one thing that impresses me the most are the employees. They are always welcoming, always happy to see you, always cheerful and kind and exactly who you want to be the face of your hotel. read more

Disgusting and disappointing! For a property to only be six years old, I was amazed by how this Hilton has been run down. First, the room I selected at minimal 24 hours prior to my stay wasn't clean and ready when I arrived at checkin so they switched me to another room. That room had dust everywhere, a rusted air conditioner cage, broken tissue box covers, hair in the bed. Then we tried to switch to another room and that one wasn't clean either. Dead lady bugs. Dirty fingerprint marks were all on the gym glass doors and elevator. For what I paid, I was expecting this would be an upgrade from the Holiday Inn; boy was I wrong. It was so nasty, we couldn't stay there and had to find another hotel option last minute. Based on other positive reviews, I had to double check that we are talking about the same location. Warning friends, unless management gets their act together, don't stay here! read more

Alright, hear me out. The beds are the WORST. But, it's still worth staying here. The staff is extremely nice and they go out of their way to improve your experience. The breakfast is good. The pool is nice. It's clean. The lobby has a lot of things to do and is super cute. So you're just going to have to overlook the bed situation and that awful blanket. For what it is, this hotel is fine. Pros: reasonable rates, friendly staff, lots of parking (including EV stations, if that's your thing), dog-friendly, easily accessible to I-85, free breakfast, free wi-fi, snacks and drinks available for purchase, early check-in and late check-out are available. Cons: our room wasn't that clean (dust and hair were easily spotted but sheets seemed fine), noise level was not ideal due to the interstate and patrons, lots of party bros, mattress was way too soft for my back and the sheets may have been purchased from a defunct Super 8, breakfast wasn't very good, rooms are TINY. Overall, this was a just fine stop for an overnight trip. Had I needed a longer stay, I would have gone a little crazy. I would also have asked for another room that was (hopefully) cleaner. read more

This location truly failed our expectations. I've stayed at other Tru locations recently with better experiences. The first room we checked into had a large cluster of black hair on the fitted sheet. I notified the lady at the front desk and she did make effort to get us into another room, without hesitation. The second room we checked into was even worse. There was visible hair on the bathroom door, some dark discoloration on the white ledge of the shower, dirt/dust buildup around the ceiling vent where the air was blowing and stains on the sheets. I called back down and reported this as well. We were already exhausted from being on the road all day. We were told to wait while another room was looked into by another staff, before transporting our belongings to that one, but we decided to check out and go next door to Courtyard Marriott instead. I'm a big fan of Tru hotels and the business model. It's a great modern, no frills option, however this one is a bit lacking. Pros: It was relatively clean, which is my main demand for a hotel, and the staff was friendly. Cons: The breakfast was pretty sad. It can't be blamed on Covid protocol, as we've stayed at 2 other Tru hotels in the last year with superior options. There just isn't much offered. The countertop was largely empty. Additionally, there were no coffee creamers or add-ins like at every other Tru. Secondly, this hotel is LOUD. Like little kids running, stomping, screaming in every corner of the hotel loud from 5am to midnight. Tl;dr: this Tru just has a different vibe from others. If you're looking for a budget, family-centric motel in Auburn, this is it. If you're familiar with the brand and expecting what you've seen elsewhere, this ain't it. read more

Travel for business is something that I do on a daily business. When I was on site for a client in Auburn, AL, this is the hotel that we stayed at. I've stayed here a total of 7+ nights over 4 trips. Previously I had tried the Marriott that was closer to campus, but we were trying to stay a little closer to the highway. Tru is a new brand by Hilton and it is an interesting concept - catering to the younger generation. Minimal decor in the rooms and more of a collaborative lobby space. There is a pool table and collab spaces in the lobby - the theme is very poppy colors. There is 24/7 free coffee and tea. Extra points for them because they have Truvia as a non-cal sweetener. The breakfast in the morning is free. They have the doughnut/bagel spread, bananas, apples, and oranges, hard boiled eggs, juices, yogurt, etc. Not a lot of hot foods for breakfast. Unfortunately, this is where I thought the lack of hospitality experience showed. The apples and oranges were always old and moldy, and the bananas most of the time were under-ripe. In addition, I've also eaten a rotton egg while I was there. The rooms themselves are cute. They are minimal in storage space and space in general. As for the mattresses, they are firm and are fine to sleep on. There unfortunately is no working printing at this location. They direct customers across the street to the Courtyard Marriott to print since they are under the same ownership. Would continue to stay here again- but this is a budget hotel. If you are looking for a kitchen in the room at the same price, the Marriott is also a great option. read more

Our room was not very clean. The floor needed to be mopped. There was dirt on the bathroom door. There was a dead bug hanging from the ceiling in the corner of the room. Being that we are in a pandemic one qould think this place would be cleaner. I knocked off two stars because it just was not clean. They got three stars because the people working the front desk were great. I enjoyed talking with one of the ladies. I believe her name was Serena. Nice staff, comfortable rooms. Not the cleanest place and the linens are laughably thin. Still, it's stylish and comfy. We had a two night stay and got no housekeeping services. At 3pm we were told that they were running behind but someone would be by. At 8pm we gave up and asked for clean towels. Walking through the lobby, we heard numerous customers complaining. One guest said his linens were covered with hair. Another guest was upset that breakfast was cutoff early and no coffee was available. In each case, the staff didn't seem too concerned. read more

Everything is brand-new, which is one of my favorite things about any hotel, but read below for the detailed breakdown. Rooms: they have a European feel. They are compact, but do not feel small. I love the colors. The comfort of the beds make me sleep like a rock. The soundproofing is superb. The bathrooms are spacious an modern. The showers have great water pressure! Service: all the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Lobby area: I LOVE the lobby of Tru hotels, and this one did not disappoint. Great mural along one wall in the lobby, showing local points of interest. Plenty of comfortable seating in the lobby. They do really superb job of designing these hotels for guests to hang out together in the lobby area. Amenities: The gym is stocked well. I love the water station that conduces filling up water bottles. There are handy lockable spots to leave your phone to charge while you hang out in the lobby or while you're working out. They have a pool, but I did not have time to utilize it. It looked nice though! Breakfast - The (free!) breakfast is tasty and has so many options, including -my fav- a waffle iron! Super clean & modern affordable hotel. This was a great spot to stop at after 11 hours on the road. The beds are comfortable, super soft sheets, and location seems safe. The only reason for my removed star is that they are doing boxed to-go breakfast which is a major bummer. Covid sure has made things change! I'd stay here again for a stop after driving. read more

I don't even know how to begin! We are Hilton Honors members and we were traveling from Florida to Alabama to drop off a Pitbull we rescued and found him his forever home. We got to the hotel at 4:30 in the morning exhausted and beat, I was welcomed with such a warm embrace. The next morning was even better!!! Every time we have stayed at any Hilton we were always met with difficulty. Even the cleaning staff all had smiles on their faces and welcomed us! What I'm trying to say is they allllll worked together and went try extra mile to help each other even if it wasn't on ther job description!!! For such a new hotel it was very poorly kept up. I've started in Tru hotels before and loved them. This one was NOT clean. The shower had mildew, the bed smelled like wet dog, the floor was sticky, and the smoke detector was covered in dust. For the basics, great place. Staff is very friendly. No real restaurants within walking distance. Hotel is near interstate but it's quiet. One negative, we had brand new towels, never washed, and when we dried off we had lent all over us. The towels also stunk. Easy fix, wash all towels and sheets before using them. Very clean and new. Beds are comfortable. Good hot water and water pressure in the shower. Flooring is not carpet, but nice laminate and tile, which is a plus. Rooms are small, but great value for the price. Breakfast is the usual scrambled eggs, sausage links, oatmeal, bagels, juice, milk and coffee. Derek at the desk in the evening was very nice and friendly and helpful with restaurants in the area. Would definitely stay here again if I'm the area!
