We arrived late at night after a long drive down from Santa Fe, the front desk girl was really nice, seemed to be in a cheerful mood, and made check in go by smoothly. We settled into the room just fine, it was spacious and seemed pretty clean. Aside from the window curtains needing a wash, I didn't really see anything that stood out to me as being that dirty. I checked the beds and they were both fine. The pillows could be a bit better, they were pretty flat and didn't offer much support. The "pull out" sofa sucked, it was quite hard and it was confusing trying to figure out how it folded out as it isn't your typical fold out sleeping sofa. You had to take all of the cushions and pillows off then grab two little handle things to flip the top half of the sofa onto the ground to open up the "bed" which is basically just a support box like you would put under a mattress. I also wish they had a slightly bigger trash can in the room, we have booked a suite for two nights with six guests in it and there was only one small can in the kitchenette and one small can in the bathroom. Breakfast was as you'd expect at a hotel. There wasn't a ton of seating so we ended up taking it back to our room. read more

Came a little expectations. It's Roswell so figured a lot of tourists. Mark greeted us at the front counter. Was very friendly. Room is ok. He even called to ensure we were ok afterwards. Great guy. A bit older but decent w a small kitchen. Lamps and furniture were updated. Electrical and plumbing fixtures were older. Bathroom was a bit older but not ancient. Breakfast was ok as well. This place has seriously gone downhill. We stayed here about three years ago and no issues. It's clean, fairly new (newer than the Fairfield down the street) and quiet. Staff was friendly. This evening when we pulled up, none of the lights in the parking lot were on except 2 (of maybe 20 around the building). When we asked the front desk lady at check-in, she was pretty nonchalant about it, not really concerned. We pointed out the security concern and she basically said they'd been out for awhile. Not her fault, certainly, but it's definitely a management issue. We will be letting marriott know for sure. Reading the other more recent reviews, it seems like management at this property is an ongoing issue of late. We prefer marriott properties and we are platinum/titanium each year. But we won't be coming back here. read more

Ours was a standard-sized room, but I suppose that the addition of a kitchenette makes it a suite... which made it crowded and cluttered. My partner is a lifetime Platinum Bonvoy Marriott member, and this room was disappointing. We didn't come here with bad attitudes, being tired, sick, or looking to complain about anything -- or start a fight. For what appeared to be a new facility, there were a lot of things that were aggravating about our room. 1. The overhead lights and most fixtures are equipped with brilliant blue-white lighting -- great if you're working in an industrial clean-room, hospital operating room, or laboratory setting. However, blue light frequencies efficiently stimulate the brain and level of alertness with just a few minutes' exposure, which isn't bad for waking up -- but work against getting sleep. Marriott must have been sold a bill of goods about equipping their U.S. hotels with these brilliant daylight lighting fixtures, but they're the worst choice possible for a hotel room. Absolutely the worst choice possible. 2. The under-counter lights in the kitchenette and desk didn't work; the bulb was found unscrewed in the desk lamp. 3. The large LED television was mounted on the left side of the bed on an adjacent wall, giving the bed occupant on the side closest to the TV a viewing angle of about 70° (75° if the TV isn't tilted toward the head of the bed). You can't sit opposite the TV unless you sit on the heating/air conditioning unit mounted on the wall below the window. Annoying, much like sitting a small theater, front row, and in the seat farthest from the screen). 4. The toilet had what appeared to be dark brown mineral stains in the bottom of the bowl. Not cool. 5. The closet just inside the entry door, and the one in the bathroom, had cheap, flimsy pull-out wire shelves mounted in tracks that weren't properly installed, and fell apart as the shelf was pulled toward you. Some genius thought it ideal to put a large metal basket on the shelves, and the one I tried fell to the floor. Don't try these while standing in bare feet: there's just enough metal to break a toe if one of these bad boys came apart in your hand and fell on your foot. Worse, it could cut your feet or amputate a toe. 6. Most hotels today have desks, bedside tables and light fixtures or electrical receptacles that are equipped with USB ports for charging phones, etc. Not this hotel. To be fair, there were many places to plug in device chargers -- but most hotels have convenient USB ports built-in to desks, tables and lights located next to the bed. If you're planning on staying here, bring your own charger or 10-port USB brick. 7. There was a large hole in the bathroom (next to the tub) that was repaired, but looked as if the spackle had been applied with a snow shovel and the thrown tread of a large truck tire. Needs to be redone, and painted. 8. ,No trash can in the bathroom. 9. No luggage caddies to open luggage on... so you have to use room furniture to open suitcases. As we're only staying one night, taking clothing out and putting it in the closet wasn't an economical use of time. Unfortunately, the seat in the room was narrow enough that the unzipped suitcase kept falling to the floor, dumping its contents. 10. The elevator makes an annoying screech when it starts moving or is coming to a stop: its operation could clearly be heard in our room. 11. The floor of the elevator has a large, deep crack which crosses most of the floor. It makes just enough noise when stepping on to sound structural in nature, not just cosmetic. 12. "Iffy" WiFi. Kept getting "service not available" and "You are not connected to the internet" messages while trying to download messages and email. Between walking the dog early in the morning, and some time later, taking luggage to the car, I noticed a lot of dirt clumps on the floor, and two employees walked right through it. I'm not so concerned that there was dirt on the floor as I am by the fact that it was present in the lobby and hallways -- for more than 2 hours. Those employees I had contact with were pleasant and easy to work with. Frankly, I'd recommend the room we had for the worst room design layout in a hotel, and -- absolutely objectively -- a crowded "suite" designed to induce claustrophobia. With several decades of flying for airlines -- the last two, flying internationally -- I spend most of my professional career in hotels. This room had quite possibly the worst layout I've ever seen, and if I were scheduled to lay over several days, I'd find another hotel. read more

Our room at the TownePlace Suites was clean, spacious, updated, and quiet. It offered excellent wifi. All of the hotel's staff members and all of the guests with whom we came into casual contact around the property were wearing masks and doing the right things with respect to COVID safety. I travel 6 months out of the year trying to exclusively use marriot properties. This is our second time staying at this property, the first in September when they over booked our reservation and kicked out an older couple to accommodate us. We didn't know this was the case until we were confronted by the angry displaced couple stating that they had to move after being begged by staff due to over booking. At checkout the girl at the front desk assured us on any future stays the problem would be resolved. Knowing that we were returning in November for the holidays she advised that they have 2 bedroom units-suites that would accommodate our large family and I should book immediately to reserve one. I thanked her for that information and immediately booked a 2 bedroom unit for November/Thanksgiving. We were willing to give this property another chance due to the front desk staffs insistence that all the issues encountered would be remedied. Now 48hrs before our check in for our November stay we were informed by email that there was construction at the property(started in October) and they could not accommodate our reservation, cancelling our 2 bedroom unit for our large family and giving us a single bedroom with two beds that would not fit our family. With family flying and driving in from out of state we had no access to our emails, which was lost on the staffs comprehension. No mention was listed on Bonvoy or the hotels website of any upcoming construction or possible inconvenience. Construction at any property is scheduled well in advance and we should have been informed long before our stay and reservation not when we walked into the property or 2 days via email when there was no time to find another property to accommodate our family during a holiday. After multiple phone calls to the property and a so called manager, we were able to secure 3 single rooms to house the family, not prefered, but we had no choice on the short notice we were given. Now to the construction. On our first attempt to use the only elevator on the property, the elevator almost took off the arm of a young boy. Due to the construction and or faulty elevator sensors the elevator would not recognize any obstruction or body part while closing. We immediately informed staff that assured us it was recently inspected. Inspection or not the elevator continued to close without stopping if you were part way in the doorway. We videoed it happening multiple times. The so called manager and staff blamed the faulty operation on the customer's. Even the construction workers on-site complained about how the elevator was faulty when they have used it. Then there was the loose plastic sheeting hanging on the third floor, ceiling to floor, without a barrier blocking children or non workers from getting tangled in the plastic or walking into an active construction zone. Every morning including both weekend days the workers started at 0630 outside banging conex boxes then moving loudly to the upper 3rd floor to work. AVOID THIS PROPERTY IF POSSIBLE due to the lack of customer service, lack of transparency in overbooking, lack of communication, and flat out lack of caring about their customers. Maybe after they are done renovating they can start properly training their staff or find replacements. Marriot should be ashamed to be associated with this property. read more

What can you say about TownPlace Suites by Marriott other than that it's A-OK? ​I compare these hotels to Hampton Inn by Marriott's competitor, Hilton. You're going to get a clean room that's nice enough (not fancy and not shabby) and you're going to get a mediocre free breakfast. But a breakfast nonetheless. And you're going to get free parking. And friendly service. That makes a comfortable stay. As far as this location, I will say that it's overpriced. Almost every hotel in Roswell seems overpriced. We came in November and other hotels we stayed at across Arizona and New Mexico were cheaper. Maybe it's the alien factor. read more

We booked over the phone a king bed and roll away. Got there and ended up with two very uncomfortable queen beds. I thought Marriott had very comfortable beds but these were hard and the blankets and sheets scratchy. I mean it felt like some cheap motel 6 hotel. So very unhappy. The door's look like termites or water damage has gotten to them. What a miserable night. Not putting much faith into Marriott anymore. read more

If you are looking for a hotel that is affordable, as well as extremely nice, look no further! We were having a very difficult time finding a hotel that would be agreeable for our entire family (9 of us) due to most being at max capacity and others being, well, from the movie Psycho. I called this place and found that they had 3 rooms left. I spoke with Uly Romero, who works the front counter, and he couldn't have been more helpful and polite. When we got to the hotel he spent a lot of time with me discussing which of the 3 rooms would work the best for us, being that we were needing 2 rooms. He went over floor plans and a map of the halls, so I would know how close to the elevators we would be, as well as how close our rooms would be to each other. He was extremely patient and answered any and all questions that I had. He gathered a extra pillows and blankets for us, as well as a roll away bed. I put him to work, but he did it all with a smile! Now, the rooms. Wow. We paid 94 dollars per room, and when we opened the doors, holy crap, they were way bigger and much nicer than I would've thought. I was very impressed; we all were. One half of our party had a double queen bed room, which was very spacious indeed. The other half of us had a two roomed suite, with pullout couch and a HUGE bathroom. We were very happy with our choice to come here immediately! Next, this hotel allows you to checkout (or "borrow") a lot of different things, but we took advantage of the board games. Family game night was in full swing because of the board games they offered. It was super cool. The only two complaints we had were: 1) half a roll of toilet paper on the roll, with no refills (we called and asked for more, which they happily brought us) 2) the dishwasher had dirty dishes in it from the previous guests, so I assume it wasn't checked by housekeeping. Both of these issues were not at all a big deal and were easily remedied. Also, with how cool the place was, and how affordable it was, well, a lot more could've been messed up and it still wouldn't have mattered! Anyway, I highly recommend this place if you are in Roswell and need a place to stay! I'm going to keep Townplace Suites in mind when I go traveling to other places as well! read more

Stayed there on business under my company credit card and used my personal credit card for incidentals. Was surprised to see a $250 charge on my bank statement. Talked to a manager and they promised if would be refunded. Two weeks later and no money. They changed their story and claimed I smoked in the room (used a vaporizer; did not smoke), refused to give the money back. Also had FAUX News playing on the lobby TV. Not okay to stay. Front desk refused to give is a room because we did not live in New Mexico..meanwhile every car in the parking lot is from out of state. We were told we had to stay in the hotel for 14 days to quarenteen. The front desk can't comprehend state orders for out of state residents. It clearly states you must quarenteen for 14 days OR for your duration of your stay whichever comes first. It's okay though. We found a cleaner hotel the Holiday Inn on main street that actually enforced everyone to wear masks unlike this particular Marriott. The Holiday Inn also served breakfast made to order for free in to go containers...very polite staff! read more

TownePlace Suites by Marriott offers modern, clean, well-appointed rooms outfitted for longer stays but was A-OK for an overnight (though the extended stay might be tough at $125.00/night on Hotels.com). For example, our room had a fully-stocked kitchen and a laundry basket. The hotel itself has great amenities including free breakfast with hot items, ample parking, indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor pool. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. A solid five stars. One of the only hotels in town where you can get a two bedroom suite. After one became available, staff switched me quickly to one of these from a king single. I snore and my wife slaps me. I need my own room. Staff moved our luggage. This is service my friends. Rooms very clean and affordable. Hotel itself very pristine. Very clean, impressed with the nice big rooms we were given. Two rooms side by side easily fit our family of 9 with plenty of space to spread out and play board games provided by the hotel. Free breakfast that is great and there's always fresh coffee, hot tea, & juice in the lobby. The attendant was extremely helpful and provided a rollaway as well as getting us extra blankets/pillows. We didn't expect much, but after a long drive from ABQ...we were very surprised and really happy to find such a nice hotel with such nice staff. This hotel is like brand new. It smells new. It's also next door to a walgreens and park. It was great for our dogs with the park so close. We even visited the UFO museum and they allow dogs to come in! We traveled 1.5 hours south to the Carlsbad caverns and came back to our little dogs...safe and sound! Very clean place, great new, full kitchen, close to parks, restaurants and very nice staff. This is probably the best hotel in Roswell right now. Very cute town...stay here if your rolling through. read more

So thankful for the great service that Yve (Eve? Not sure on spelling) My family and I were traveling back to Austin from Phoenix and needed a two bedroom suite to fit comfortably. We could not find any available through their online site, so I called and it turned out that they did have a vacant suite, but due to a computer glitch showing it was booked, they were unable to book it. She went above and beyond by taking down my cell number, fixing the computer glitch and calling me back to let me know that they were able to book the room for me and my family and looked forward to seeing me soon. I manage in the service industry and have a lot of experience at various hotels for work and personal travel. This exceptional service sets this location far above any competition. In addition, the suite was clean, pleasant, comfortable and made my family feel as close to home as possible. We finally got a good nights rest:) The breakfast buffet was restaurant quality equivalent, which was refreshing in comparison to some of the recent hotel "quality" breakfast false promises we received. The only downfall was the loud and disrespectful family yelling profanity in the breakfast area. Management should not allow this when they are seen acknowledging hearing it. ALICE SAVES OUR DAY! After having an awful experience at a hotel across the street (see my Best Western review in regards to that dump), my boyfriend and I checked into this hotel. Alice at the front desk was a lifesaver. After hearing our story, she felt bad for us and upgraded us. How sweet! Another hotel paying for their neighbor's faults. That's some great customer service! She deserves employee of the year!! We loved our one-night stay. Super friendly staff. The place still smells new. The room was super clean. We were able to rest with ease, not having to worry about any bugs crawling on us. There was live music in the lobby while checking in that was super cool to have, too. Pretty good rooms, great staff, but I'm not a fan of the breakfast. If you are staying here long term, which is what this hotel is designed for, you will get tired of the breakfast FAST! The eggs are indescribably horrible! Every other Marriott property I've been to in the past few months has very good eggs at breakfast. This one has what I can only describe as hockey pucks with a hard yolk center. They also never have anything other then sausage. I like sausage OK, but I love bacon. And the coffee is pretty horrible too. We've been here for several months now. We mainly eat breakfast out, or we cook our own in our room. I hate that I'm paying for this hotel breakfast everyday, then have to go somewhere and purchase another breakfast so that I can have a good breakfast. It's really bad when the McDonald's breakfast is better then the Marriott's breakfast! read more

Love this place my mom and I stayed here for my birthday just to get out of the house and relax and boy did it end up making me relax they had an amazing swimming pool the room was so spacious they had so salt scrub you could test out in the bathroom amazing I ended up buying it from the "corner store" they have inside the hotel you didn't have to go anywhere for anything they had a fountain drink station and water they had frozen TV dinners and chips etc. The breakfast was amazing they had so many options waffles, hard boiled eggs, fried eggs, sausage, fruit salad, oatmeal, cereal, and so many breads and bagels to choose from. This is the best place we have stayed at during our road trip vacation. Brandy at the front desk was super friendly and very helpful, just awesome. She showed us the suite before we decided on whether we were gonna stay here or not. The room was pretty pricey but she said she could bring it down some, she worked her magic and brought it down to an awesome price, we could not pass it up. The suite was very clean, spacious with 2 separate rooms and a pullout couch in its own living room area. We also got a 10% discount from the hotel at the restaurant we ate dinner at. I would definitely stay here again and would strongly recommend this hotel whenever you are in the Roswell area. read more

This place is a very nice hotel. It has everything you need, except good wifi. You have to pay almost $5 a day in order to get wifi that actually works. The "FREE" complimentary wifi sucks so bad that I can't even do homework online. As a guest we shouldn't have to pay for good wifi when it's literally available anywhere you go these days. This is my first time writing a review on a hotel, as it is the first time a hotel has been wonderful enough for me to be compelled to write one! To sum it up, the hotel and room are perfect. It's got exactly everything I like all in one. The property is beautiful, staff are very friendly, the room is spotless, zero smell whatsoever!!! (I think this is a first for me with that!), a nice little kitchenette and a desk that is just perfect for me to work on my laptop. The room just feels so clean and comfortable, which are very high on my priority list for hotel rooms.
