The leasing staff (Keith & Rebecca) are also at the top of their game, which is the icing on the cake.

This is why the holding company's policy of changing living configurations and requirements for a nominal fee is appealing to me, personally. It implies that they are interested in not only attracting tenants for available units, but retaining their residents and building long/term relationships. I have visited more apartment complexes than I can easily recall. I would estimate it at between 16 and 20, and the Marquis at Carmel Commons is definitely one of my top two choices . If you choose to explore this property, be careful not to confuse it with the one just across the street called the Marquis Carmel Valley. While these two properties are managed (or owned) by the same holding company, the look and feel, how the grounds are kept, and the quality of the units is night and day. At least, this was my observation and I could be totally wrong in my assessment and perception. In addition to the Marquis at Carmel Commons being well maintained, and (from what I observed) the maintenance staff taking their important role quite seriously, the property itself seemed like the senior leadership team really cares about attracting and retaining their residents (as previously mentioned). Janice, for example was an effective listener and even took what appeared to be copious notes about what I was looking for, along with my specific, personal needs and priorities. For example, I shared 3-4, must haves in order for me to make being a resident at the Marquis at Carmel Commons my home. In addition to escorting me on a tour of the model and sharing copies of the wonderful floor plans, by the end of the day (and my appointment was a 2 pm), Janice had emailed me some wonderful options and even identified a few options for me that might align with my targeted move-in dates. Since that visit, Janice has reached out with new and updated information and even took the time to call me with updates. I found that to be a very nice, personal touch. She was even kind enough to make time to schedule a second tour where I requested that I bring a close blood-relative so that I get a second opinion from some who lives in the area and has known me my whole life. To sum it up, if the unit that was described to me aligns with personal moving timeline, Janice Saya will be the reason why I opted for The Marquis at Carmel Commons. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that the stars align because this is truly a wonderful property situated in a location that will mesh well with the proximity to all of the places that integrate well with the places I currently frequent. Two thumbs up for Janice Saya!

Not bad...this was the first community I lived in when I moved to Charlotte. We first lived in…read moretownhome which I liked and later moved into a 2 bedroom unit. The rent was reasonable for our 2 bedroom so there wasn't much to complain about. The porch was screen protected which was great, especially during summertime. Management changed a couple of times but we didn't have any issues with them. The gym is tiny so you'll need to have membership elsewhere if you workout. The complex is old so you will hear your neighbours if they're noisy. They also have roaches roaming around which enter your unit even now and then...yuck! The prices went up while we were leaving so I wouldn't advise anyone to live here at those prices! They have upgraded the units but they're still old!

The two service guys that work here currently are very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. The office staff are always friendly...and trust me, we have seen some of the worst! We only have one neighbor that seems to think this is a college apartment (and the staff have been dealing with them), but suffice it to say we really recommend Oakbrook to anyone looking for a great, affordable apartment in the Pineville area. It's also really close to 485, so getting to the highway doesn't take much time at all. It's also really close to good shopping centers. And to cap off my review, I gotta say how awesome it is to live in a place that is shaded by tons of trees and isolated from the noise of Park and Johnston.

Years later, I took a better paying job and needed a shorter commute. I sought this place and it was near my stepping stones of CLT which included Southpark mall. The two bedroom price was so good I had to jump on it. Staff were horrible at answer phone and emails. I had to make several trips after work to land this apt. Luckily I do payments online and never need to go into the office. I stayed here close to 2 years. Staff changed a few times but for the better. I dealt with previous tenants mail the whole time...never forwarded their debt mail. The pools were closed until the last Memorial Day I was there then closed shortly after. They are working this time to make the fixes since someone reached corporate evidently. The main gym is outdated but it had an indoor racketball room. Only available during office hours. Sketchy at night anyway in there. The second clubhouse was never completed. Most neighbors kept to themselves and respected package deliveries outside others doors. I had a neighbor with 2 families living next to me and bedroom tv blaring through the wall after midnight. Building numbers hard to read for cops. Landscaping got better. I have to also include Maintenance personnels, Telly and Ben (former worker). Telly is the hardest worker! Telly will come same day as your request. He'll even handle two request at once with prioritization! He is handy with his tools and come up with easy practical solutions to get the job done! Friendly and Professional. Ben is such a great worker. I requested a few things to work on while at home after getting false completions. Staff is supposedly low at the moment. He came in eager to help and was able to make repairs easy. Both guys know what they're doing and exceeded my expectations. They'll asked if anything else could be done while on the assignment. I've seen Ben would grab up trash outside the dumpster on the weekend. Thanks guys! I enjoyed my apartment and the amount of space. I wish I could take it with me and place it somewhere else. It was tough to let it go especially for the price/rate. I wish the balcony was half exposed and larger. Huge magnolia tree gave privacy but I could have had more light in dining and den. Lots of wasps lived in tree next to my bedroom. I kept the space neat even when I vacated. Rating based on: +space +location +price +deposit
