Found this nasty little critter running around my BR the other evening as I was packing for my upcoming move. I'd considered renewing or at least going month-to-month but didn't get a reply. As so often happens, it was for the best. This disgusting germ spreading pest removed any doubts about leaving if the other situations hadn't. I've always been told with respect to cockroaches/roaches, if you see one there are more that you aren't seeing. I was just comfortable with knowing what to expect here (and moving is a pain), but that's not a good enough reason to stay given how I've been treated, and I'm ignoring how I was treated my previous residency here. In any event, finally saw it last night crawling across my bathroom wall & smashed it with my broom. The Zevo I'd nearly emptied on it didn't work...at all. Unfortunately, I can't give this community more than 2 stars because of my experiences of late and an ongoing one where it was implied I was the cause of the trash vendor's behavior. I'd posted a review to Apartments.com using their job role not names, but it was rejected. So much for that site's impartiality. read more

After selling my home and not sure where my next home would be I decided to rent for a year or two. After looking at several complexes, Encore met everything that I was looking for. I recently moved out, only because I ended up finding my next home, but lived at Encore for two years and it is 5 stars. From the staff to the maintenance to the amazing amenities Encore delivers. I can only say I am surprised by some reviews, but if you are looking for an apartment for a limited period, or extended, call them. Just a few things I will highlight: Rooftop Pool, Saturday morning brunches for residents only, from Reid's, Krispie Kreme, The Flying Biscuit and others, including some amazing coffee food trucks. Selected the Encore after visiting a number of other apartments in the area. This was by far the cleanest, quietest and most low key of all the apartment complexes. Great location to everything in SouthPark. Staff has been very friendly and helpful and the neighbors are all quiet and respectful. Really good experience two months in. read more

Relocated to Charlotte for a temporary work assignment, then fell in love with the city. Having lived at the Encore for nearly two years I have no hesitation in saying that it is very well staffed and managed. Administratively the front office is polite, professional, competent, and most of all helpful. The maintenance crew does an outstanding job of maintaining the building and property. There is a monthly newsletter that lists all of the things that were taken care of on the property during the month and every month it is substantial. The Encore's one person cleaning staff keeps the entire 8 floor building impeccably clean 6 days a week top to bottom. Every employee takes a great deal of pride in their work and genuinely cares about the level of service they provide. As far as I know there is only one way to put together a highly functional motivated team like this one and that is with exceptional leadership. I truly enjoy living here and I am grateful for the peace and quiet and friendliness of the this community. Everything here is great! Awesome management team that really care about the residents. The building is always immaculate and if anything is needed you will always get a quick response. I have to agree with Michelle's review. When I first moved in (March 2017) I thought this was a wonderful place to live. It is June 2017 and I am getting more and more disappointed with the staff and their willingness to resolve issues. The leasing agents will tell you what you want to hear to get you to sign the lease. 24/7 Concierge does not exist...there is sooooo much noise that comes from the pool area, you cannot sit on your porch and read a book...my closet rack fell down and I was told it was not an emergency...Concierge is supposed to handle LOUD noise complaints-no authority to handle these issues. Looks like I will have to write a letter to Corporate Office to get some results. read more

This place is terrific. I moved here from Dallas and quickly became frustrated at the quality of the homes for rent in the South Park - Myers Park areas. I had limited time and decided to check out The Encore. I walked in and was warmly greeted with a big smile by Lindsay one of the Leasing agents. I literally looked at one apartment and signed the paperwork. The Encore is a wonderful place-- excellent finish out, great amenities, and terrific service. The location couldn't be better as well. I recently moved to charlotte and have been looking for the perfect place to call home. I found Encore on Zillow and reach out to have someone contact me. Within an hour of me sending a message Lindsay, the Leasing Consultant, reach out to find out what I was looking for. In a short time we set up an appointment to see the property, and she also sent me 4 different floorplan suggestions that she thought would meet my housing criteria best. When I met Lindsay for the appointment she was extremely helpful in showing me the property, but also she worked with me more like a friend than a Leasing agent. She really tried to listen to the things that mattered most to me. She never pushed anything on me or tired to "sell" me on Encore. Lindsay really tried to help and only made suggestions on my behave. Lindsay, and the entire Encore team, made this experience for me so amazing that after I looked at 7 other properties that day I had to come back because the people and the Encore property stood out above the rest!!! A great apartment complex should be broken down into two categories - a great product and/or great service behind that product. The Encore SouthPark delivers a high standard of excellence in both of these categories. My apartment search was from several states away so there was only so much I can tell about the product up front. So I ignored the aesthetics of the place at first. I stuck to the research I could do online. For me, the location is unbeatable. I work in downtown so the 20 minute commute is perfect. Yet, I'm a rare millennial bachelor that likes a quiet, suburban, oasis type feel. My home should be a sanctuary that I'm always glad to use as my refuge from my busy job in the city. This place checks off every point on my list when it comes to this feeling. It's close to fine dining, two parks, a fantastic mall, Whole Foods and 2 Harris Teeter grocers within a block. This is no exaggeration, check Google maps. There are plenty of high end department stores in the mall or nearby. Movie theater is a block and a half away. Meanwhile, the place is practically dead quiet at night, except for the gentle hum of the wildlife at night which i find soothing. Now to more practical matters, I needed to know the complex itself had all the amenities I wanted, especially for a bachelor who wants to keep life simple domestically so I have more time to myself. 24/7 gym is tremendous. Weights and cardio section and an additional studio to be used for yoga or spin classes. The studio can even be used for on demand workouts preprogrammed on their kiosk. You want kickboxing one day? Select it on the menu and you're good to go. High interval cardio the next day, just select it. Amazing!!! Pool, steam room, sauna room, massage area, and a pet spa? Are you kidding me?!?! A pet spa?!?! The 24/7 concierge service is great too, especially when you need packages signed for. They'll hold it for you and you'll have an alert on the TV outside the mailroom and an email alert that you have a package. The units themselves? Honestly, the pictures don't do them justice. Appliances are brand new stainless steel, quarts counters, dark cabinets, hardwood everywhere except the soft bedroom carpets and the immaculately tiled bathroom floors. You really can't go wrong with The Encore SouthPark. But honestly, the best experience, and the greatest reason for my choosing this place is the staff. The level of detail, follow-up, support, friendliness, and genuinely loving what they do really cones through when you interact with them in any medium. Be it in person, phone, email, or text. You'll know they're always on it no matter the question or request and you can feel them smiling and enjoying what they do. I've told many friends downtown about this place because it truly is amazing and I'd hate for friends of mine to miss out. I drove by this property a few times during construction and always wondered what the finished product would be like not knowing that one day it would eventually be my home. I looked at a few properties in the area but kept coming back to Encore. From the moment I met Lindsey, I felt safe and very comfortable knowing that I would be making the right decision for my son I by making Encore our home. She is honest and patient and included my son in all our conversations. I was very impressed by this because this would be his home as well. I have to admit, at the last minute I thought about choosing a less expensive property but I went back to Lindsey for one last walk through and signed my agreement with 15 minutes. The old adage is true - you get what you pay for - and this is very evident in the fabulous amenities....concierge service, superior construction and exceptional security. Lindsey really sold this property. She is truly amazing and such an asset to this company. Of course, the entire staff at Encore is amazing!!!!! We moved in a week ago and my son is extremely happy and that's enough for me. If you are searching for a maintenance/hassle free living, this is the place to be. I moved to Charlotte, NC from Philadelphia exactly one year ago. When arriving to Charlotte I rented at a property nearby, which I regret. Knowing that I was not going to renew my lease I started looking months in advance. I toured what felt like hundreds of communities in Charlotte, in all different areas. I was adamant on what I was looking for and wasn't going to stop looking or make a decision until I found it. I found it, I had been living a block away from it, and one day decided to call. That's when it happened, I found Lindsay at the Encore! From the first time I met Lindsay, I knew the Encore was going to be home for me and my dog. I can't say enough about her and the experience she has and continues to provide for me, she made me feel like family. I must have visited the properly 15 times before moving in. Initially I only wanted to interact or deal with Lindsay, and when she couldn't she'd have Josh help me. The more I interacted with Josh the more he became like family; he's great to me and my dog and makes us smile. The entire staff; Asia, Gus, Joe etc.. They are all just amazing and sincere. I've lived at the Encore for about a month now and the staff is my family. The other deciding factor for me was maintenance and cleanliness of the property and grounds. The property and grounds are kept clean every day by friendly courteous staff. I can't say enough about the staff and the community. I've lived in several apartments in many states; the Encore has been the best experience for me. It's clean and maintained! I do not have one complaint. It's quite, which is extremely important as well. The Encore does a great job with planning and hosting events for residents, events that I actually attend which I've never in the past! I found Encore SouthPark after visiting several apartments in Charlotte. I was impressed by the first phone call with Lindsay- knowledgeable about the various floor plans and availability. She was quick to help and accommodate. We moved in thinking this was going to be a short lease, but it is so comfortable we are thinking we could stay thru a new home build. Where do I even begin, it all started when I accepted a job in Charlotte and began calling complexes in the Charlotte area. I was lucky enough to get Lindsay on the phone who is a master of her craft. From my first call, to my first visit, signing the lease, and getting everything moved and set up I can not say enough about the staff here at The Encore. I was so impressed I joked with the leasing agent on my tour that everything seemed staged! They are nothing short of exceptional and have exceeded all of my expectations and continue to provide PHENOMENAL resident delight on a daily basis. Everyone here is more than friendly and the concierge service is the best that I have ever personally experienced. With multiple entertaining areas this complex provides more than just a place to lay your head, it provides you a home with ample space to entertain guests. The rooftop area is phenomenal and everyone I have over is always impressed with the facilities. Another huge upside is that you never hear your neighbors which is rare in any multi dwelling complex. They also have fiber optic based internet and cable services allowing you to get up to a gig of internet. I cannot say enough good things about this complex. I had been previously living in a near by complex for over 6 years. After the 5th management change, I was ready for a change. I was looking for a similar building, which in the apartment world would be hard to find, not a frame structure but all concrete. I found this at The Encore. I also found wonderful amenities including a pool and grill area with the a picturestic view of the city sky line. Security was very important to meet too because there were issues and concerns at my last complex so knowing a background check is done on everyone that has a fab is a relief for me. Change in management was also a concern considering the history with my last building. It was good to know that they (Simpson) owns and manages all of their properties. I was happy to hear they weren't going anywhere. With that said, the leasing and concierge staff are beyond AMAZING. They are always willing to go above and beyond to answer questions and be available. I'm in love with how dog friendly the community is. There are events every month to bring the residents together along with a yummy brunch every Saturday morning. I felt like at my other complex I only knew the dog people from being outside with them but now I feel like I am a part of a real community with some of the best neighbors. I feel so lucky to be living in what I feel is the best apartment complex in Charlotte! read more
