The history and architecture of the property is beyond comparison to anything else. But the stay experience falls short after that. The problem with this property is the management. The entire staff is friendly and appears to want to provide you with good service but they've never been trained on how to do their job. From housekeeping, to service at the bar and restaurant, to simple upkeep of linens and the general property, this property should be a five star but it's a two star at best. Stay at any of the other travel hotels. You'll be much more satisfied. You'll get what you expect. This is a property in the Marriott Signature line that does not live up to what you expect from this brand. We will not return to this hotel. We have shared our frustration many time with the management over the years.

Weird stain on the wall inside the door, some short little hairs in the shower. Very convenient and worth a stay if in town for business or pleasure. Hotel staff was very kind.

She checked me in right away and gave me a room on the second floor. The first thing I noticed when walking in was there was a smell of maple syrup in the air, and it was throughout the room. After a while I didn't notice the smell anymore, but when I left for dinner and came back, I smelled it again. It wasn't offensive, just weird. The room was large and clean. The bathroom was also clean, but didn't have any shampoo or conditioner, only (2) bars of soap, (2) make-up removers and lotion. This room has an in-room coffee maker and was stocked with coffees and teas and all the things you need in the morning. Overall, this is a nice hotel, and I would stay here again.

The lobby was nice with multiple seating areas & a kitchenette area where they serve breakfast. The rooms were pretty standard. I do feel like the bathroom could have cleaner there was hair on the counter and the shower didn't look the cleanest. It was fine for a quick sleep but definitely couldn't stay longer than a day or so. They did a decent breakfast spread. I personally decided not to partake as I had other options but nice for guest.

When we moved the chair in the room to sit by the window we found a discarded pair of underwear behind it. Otherwise the room was clean. The bed was comfortable and the A/C wasn't too loud. Even though we set the temperature, the A/C unit did it's own thing changing the temp. At one point in the night it dropped to 70 and it was set at 74 so we woke up very cold. But it was 75 and hot when we woke up in the morning. Front desk staff were efficient. I was disappointed that the M Club only served breakfast until 9am on a Sunday. It would have been nice to have it until 9:30am.

It was a chophouse. Uber support to SUX was not available because had to cross state line Taxi services available. Mine was not the greatest. I would recommend getting a hotel in the Iowa side of Sioux City and it would probably be more convenient in many ways This apparently has a conference center so if you are going there for a conference, you should be ready to drive to a restaurant. Fresh coffee by the main desk. There is an expanded hot and cold breakfast that they ask you to make and take back to your room for Covid protection. When we went down they had not restocked the breakfast area so several items missing. The fan provides good white noise. This is an okay one night stay for the rate.
