We used Townie Transportation this past weekend to go to dinner in Raleigh. We requested a certain time for a pickup and Jamie arrived on time, dressed professionally. She opened the doors for the women and waited until we were situated to take us to our destination. There were four of us in our party and we were not exactly a quiet ride for her. I relied on the solid 5-star reviews, and Townie did not disappoint. We needed to leave for the airport at 4AM earlier this week. That's not a time for mistakes or no shows, and not the time to hope an Uber is available. Jamie showed up on time, and was poised and ready for us as we walked out of our hotel. She helped with doors and with our luggage, and was completely professional and calm. The car was pristine and cool on what was already shaping up to be another 100-degree day. More costly than Uber? Very reliable, and so easy to reserve. We were one of those people who realized at 10pm the night before that maybe Uber/Lyft weren't going to be awake at 4:15am for a ride to the airport. Even with calling the night before the reservation process was quick. The car we were picked up in was so nice, so clean and so comfortable and our driver knew what he was doing. We have all seen "5-Star" services that don't really deserve it. Townie is the glorious exception. The cars - 5 star. The reservation process - 5 star. The people put it over the top, however. Before the pandemic I had used this service on several occasions. The cost was $50 each way. This time I was quoted $58 going and $78 coming back and that the addition $20 was because of late night pickup. Flight originally scheduled to land at 11:55 pm on return. Once we got to the airport, the driver said the cost would be $98. This included %20 upcharge and tip, but the retun would only $78. Upon drop off, I gave the driver $80. He insisted the cost was $98. I acknowledge that convenience can cost, and our flight was very late getting in, however, the owner, Taylor was dishonest and took advantage of my vulnerable travel times and misquoted the pricing over the phone and then again when he initially dropped me off. The only good thing about the service was the initial ride to the airport was in a luxury vehicle. That was not the case coming back. In addition, the driver coming back, parked as faraway from the gate as possible and made no attempt to assist until we got to his vehicle. We both had 3 bags each. I expect better service for a 20 min, $100 ride from RDU. That is why I could only give 3 instead of 4 stats and the fact that I convinced my business partner to use the service 1based on previous experiences. It was very embarrassing when the cost was so exorbitant and service so blah. read more

Then that night around 9 pm I get a call from saying they didn't have a driver they could send to pick me up. Very disappointed in their service and their manners...
