Their sales staff is especially bad. All the local heavy equipment guys I know say Townline has become terrible. This town is where Townline started, and they used to be great when Bob ran it, and they built up quite a business. A few years ago, I bought a tractor from them. They nearly lost the sale because the sales girl didn't know anything. I asked for the sales manager and told him they were about to lose the sale because I could not get any straight or correct answers from the girl. They sent out a knowledgeable guy and we got it done. A month ago, I went there to buy an excavator. The sales staff ignored me as I stood around the showroom awhile. One guy was in his office on the phone, and other had his head buried in his computer. Eventually I left and went outside and toured the new and used inventory myself. I went back in about 20 minutes later and was ignored again. I went to "head buried in computer" man and asked if he was sales. He said he was, and asked me what I wanted to know. I told him I wanted to buy an excavator. He seemed reluctant to help at all. I had to ask him pointedly to show me what he had for used. We went outside, but he knew nothing about his inventory and kept telling me I should look it up on the internet myself. He mentioned a couple times that he didn't "keep all this info in his head". He could not have been more disinterested in selling an expensive excavator. We went back inside after a most dissatisfying conversation about the one used excavator he showed me. I asked about new excavators. Again, he knew nothing and showed absolutely zero interest in selling me one. Instead of telling me anything or offering to show me anything, he went to his rack of pamphlets and tried to find the models I was asking about. It was quite clear he just wanted to get me out the door so he could go back to his computer. By this point, I knew there was no way I'd buy anything from Townline. After a couple minutes of him poking through pamphlets and handing me a couple (to models that were not what I was asking about), I gave up in disgust and left, never to return. I left there and went to United Ag & Turf in Springfield, VT, where the people were interested in selling equipment. read more

We bought a Kubota tractor from the Kubota dealer in Sharon Springs before it was sold to its current owners and became Townline Equipment. We had good experiences with the previous owners. This spring, we contacted Townline about a leak in the tractor axle. Then the comedy of errors began. The first technician said that he couldn't fix it because he didn't have the right part. The excuse for that, which came later, was that the box was mismarked. The second technician came and installed a part that did nothing to correct the leak. It may have made it worse. We got a bill for that for about $430, even though the leak had not been corrected. Finally a third technician came and worked for several hours replacing a number of parts. The leak is fixed, finally. We just got a call from Townline saying the bill is $840. That's a lot for inadequate service. It seems as if we have to pay for their incompetence. We'll find another business to service our tractor in the future. read more

The mechanics that come out to fix my Kubota L47 are always great. Always seem very knowledgeable and professional. Unfortunately, I see them way too much. I thought Kubota was a good brand. Who would have thought a new backhoe could be broken so much of the time. It's down again and going back into the shop Aug 7th. Really wish I had bought something that actually works. read more

This place is GREAT!!! I bought a Kubota BX2670, They gave free delivery to my home and I had it for 2 hours when i realized I could not get a backhoe for it. I called up to tell them i wanted an upgrade and to to the BX25D so i could have the backhoe. No problems, took care of the whole thing and the following weekend I was digging holes. They have an excellent price, excellent service, they take care of adding the small things at no cost like block heater + loader hooks.
