He liked Dr. Cuttler too - he even laid down on the floor and relaxed which he DOES NOT DO at the vet ever! She recommended some tests and bloodwork but is not pushy is any way, which I really liked. We did the tests and she called me with results, going over every detail and taking her time to ensure I understood the results and what our next steps could be. I took my other 2 dogs in as well to see her. She was awesome with them as well. We have definitely found our vet. I highly recommend Dr. Cuttler to anyone looking for great veterinary care.

We arrived a few minutes early to an empty reception area, except for other customers. when the receptionist did come in we weee checked in and eventually shown to the room where this procedure is done. it was obviously a very stressful day for our animal and us. We sat in that room for over half an hour without ANYONE coming to explain the delay or give us a time when the doctor would be in. I was furious and walked out to the reception area and told the woman that we were leaving and I'd NEVER step foot in that clinic again. Absolutely zero empathy for our situation by the 'professionals' responsible for giving care to their customers. Once upon a time this was an outstanding veterinary office. But after today I will never go back.

I called the vet office on Tues., Nov. 7 to give them the information on my credit card. I told them, at that time, that I would be going out of state the next morning and would be back on the weekend. My son had an appointment to take his dog in on Thurs., Nov. 9. After the dog was treated, the information they submitted from my credit card showed as invalid. I don't know if someone transposed a wrong number or whatever, but I gave them all my correct credit card info. before I left. They began harassing my son and daughter-in-law over this, instead of waiting until I got back to take it up with me. They threatened to call the police and file a police report on them if the amount wasn't paid by the next day (Friday). My daughter-in-law reminded them that I was out of state and that I was the one responsible for the bill. That didn't deter them from continuing their threat to file a police report. There was absolutely NO NEED to do something so absurd. I called them early Monday morning (Nov. 13) and gave them the information AGAIN from my credit card. There was no problem at that time. Everything went through. My son has a business, and he doesn't treat his customers like this. They should have waited until I got back and dealt with me - not them !! The problem was on THEIR end, not on mine. I would NEVER refer this clinic/vet to anyone. There was absolutely no need to create such drama. Where is the compassion for the animal ??

By 4:55 PM, I was on the phone with Horizon. They immediately gave me a clear estimated quote, explained what would be needed, and asked if we could be there by 5:15 PM since Spec would need to be put under anesthesia and they closed at 6:00. No other vet in the area was willing to see him that late in the day, and even our primary vet couldn't help the following day due to no surgeons being available. My brother and I arrived with Spec at 5:10 PM, and from the moment we walked in, everything moved with incredible speed, professionalism, and compassion. Dr. Aaron Rainer personally guided us straight into a patient room. Heather was immediately there to help me with paperwork and was so kind and calming during a stressful moment. While I was filling it out, Kadie & Jasmine gently took Spec to the back to begin preparing him for the procedure. Because Spec was very nervous, they allowed my brother to go back and help hold him while he was being put to sleep -- something that meant the world to us. Once he was asleep, they also allowed me to go back and watch the entire procedure from start to finish. Dr. Rainer explained that he prefers owners to see the care, skill, and dedication behind the work -- and that alone speaks volumes about the integrity of this clinic. The procedure itself was handled flawlessly. Emily Swearingen, the nurse and patient care coordinator, was absolutely amazing -- not only assisting during the procedure but also walking us through post-op care in a way that was clear, thorough, and reassuring. From injury to stitches to recovery, we were back home before 6:00 PM. I was blown away. As if that wasn't enough, Dr. Rainer later took the time to speak with me extensively about my cat Chong, who is dealing with a nasal tumor, while my primary vet was closed for the holidays. He answered questions, offered guidance, and never once made it feel rushed or transactional. That conversation alone would have earned my respect -- but it only reinforced what I already believed after watching him work. Afterward, I looked him up and learned about everything he's accomplished, including being the youngest-ever president of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. Somehow, that didn't surprise me at all. Horizon Veterinary is exactly what veterinary medicine should be: compassionate, transparent, efficient, and truly centered around the animals -- not profit. Dr. Rainer and his entire team genuinely care, and it shows in every single interaction. I am beyond grateful for them, and I would trust them with my animals again without hesitation.
