They did a great job on my brakes! The dealership wanted to charge me for brakes for the rear. Toy tech said I didn't need it just the front that saved me over $600.00. It's family owned! Very nice people! They have a very small waiting room. If you're getting work done that might take awhile it might be best to have someone pick you up and bring you back. Is what I did. Toy Tech is a centrally located and family owned auto shop that specializes in Toyota's. I came here years ago, then forgot about them until recently, I'm glad I remembered them again, I like genuine Toyota parts for my 1991 pickup, and that's what they use. I love these guys so much! They're honest and do really good work on Toyotas. I own a 97 4Runner that has been having some t-case problems but these guys were able to help me out. Not only that I was driving from Philadelphia to Colorado when my car broke down. They were able to talk to me on the phone, help me diagnose what the problem was, and helped me not get overcharged by the mechanic I went to. Overall super friendly and only pleasant interactions with them. As long as I am in colorado I will be taking my 270,000 mile 4Runner there. Highly recommend if you have a Toyota! read more

When your AC goes out150 miles into a 2500 mile trip that's bad. When you wait another 400 miles to get it repaired at Toy Tech, it's great. Kim and Matt saved our trip by diagnosing and replacing a well worn AC Blower Motor. They were able to complete this in one day, communicated clearly the whole time, and best of all, it was very fairly priced. I had an incredible experience with Kim. I took my Land Cruiser to the dealer and they tried to tell me my head gasket was cracked. Kim did a block test and some other diagnostics and quickly found out it was only a compromised radiator cap and got my Cruiser driving again. I can't be more thankful for Kim. I would not recommend anyone visit this shop. Toy Tech is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. I called to make an appointment and they couldn't get me in for a week and a half. The waiting room is tiny, dirty, and uninviting. I was there In July, the temperature was in the 90s and they didn't have air conditioning. I guess they really don't want you waiting on your car. You have to back out to leave but you can't see around cars they park on the street because they park them too close to the entrance. Kim told me over the phone they wash their hands before getting into your car, but she didn't do it. I feel like she lied in order to get me to go there. I only needed a simple oil change, but I called ahead and told them that I was looking for a mechanic that was honest, and also that I didn't want them to put my phone number in the system because I value my privacy and too many companies have given out my personal info. Both Kim and another girl I talked to (whose name I don't remember) said the exact same thing: "I understand, I know how you feel." I specifically told Kim that I was very particular, that I'm the kind of person who parks in the last spot because I don't want people parking next to me, and if Toy Tech couldn't work with me, I'd understand, I just wanted the truth. Kim assured me that they could work with my needs, that many people are like that. She said, "I'm the same way." Well I get there, and she asked for my phone number and put it into the computer. She asked me for some other info which she also put into the system, then asked for my car keys. As we walked to my car, I asked if she was getting the VIN number. She said yes. I asked why she needed that, and she IMMEDIATELY blew up like an atom bomb. She yelled at me, "The law requires it!" I said the law doesn't require a VIN number for an oil change. Screaming, literally screaming, she said that they wouldn't work on my car without the VIN. I tried to say that this is why I had called ahead of time, that she'd said she could work with me. But she wouldn't listen. She yelled over me the whole time, screaming that they needed the vin number, they wouldn't work on my car without it. "Go to the dealership!" she yelled. "You can just go to the dealership!" She didn't listen to a word I said. By this time I was very angry. If you yell at me, you can expect me to yell back. Then some guy came out from behind the bays. I thought he'd ask, "what's going on," but instead he pulled out his phone and said (with the ease of someone who's used to doing this), "I'm going to call the cops in 2 minutes if you don't leave." I've never in my life had someone threaten me with calling the cops. I said (for the fourth or fifth time, because NO ONE would listen to me), this was why I had called ahead of time, to make sure they could work with my needs. Why had Kim told me they could do something if they couldn't? Why did they make me take time off work and waste my time if they couldn't do what I'd said I wanted? But this guy, who didn't give his name, also didn't listen. He just repeated, "Im going to call the cops, I'm going to call the cops." Any mechanic that gets that angry because you ask a question is not to be trusted. If they're going to be so disrespectful on such a simple question, who's to say what they'll do to your car when you're not looking? If they threaten to call the cops instead of telling me why they want my personal info, what are they going to do when they screw something up on your car? You think they're going to admit their mistake? Or you think they're going to scream and yell and threaten to call the cops? I'm lucky I found out what they're like before they had a chance to touch my vehicle. If that's the way they treat people, can you imagine how they treat your car? read more

VERY HONEST business. I took my Prius V in for a repair and Kim knew right away what the problem was. She confirmed with me the next day that her initial opinion was indeed the issue and it was fixed FREE of charge because it did not take much to fix the issue. That has NEVER happened to me! I have always been charged something for a repair by mechanics no matter how little time or effort it took. She is VERY honest and educated, its no wonder they have been in business 18 years! We had a leak in our 1998 Sienna necessitating a new crankshaft seal. Apparently the leak ruined the timing belt even though it was less than 2 years old. Toy Tech replaced the timing belt and the water pump. Almost immediately after, the power steering pump began to leak. Toy Tech replaced the power steering pump for $400. I have since learned replacing the timing belt involves the power steering belt. If the power steering belt is tightened too much, it can puncture the power steering pump and cause a leak. I am not a car mechanic but it doesn't really seem like a coincidence that the power steering fluid leaked out right after the first repair. read more

Repaired lesking actuator on my 2003 Toyota 4-Runner. I chosecToy Tech because Toyotas are their specialty and their estimate was much more reasonable than a competitiors. They were very friendly and perdonable and they seem to have done the job right. At least the actuator is no longer leaking. I was irritated that they added about $55 to their written estimate for replacement fluid and shop supplies. They explained that shop supplies include rags, solvents, etc. They should have known these things would be necessary and include them in the estimate. When I complained they were amazed that I was bickering over a few dollars. I countered, if the few dollars are insignificant, remove then from my $906 original estimate. They didn't budge. I guess I'll go back to them if I can't find someone more trustworthy. But next time I will ask more specific question on their estimate. Is it complete? read more

i brought my 4runner to toy tech to have it checked over and an oil change .they said that it needed a rear axle seal replaced and informed me that they accidentally put the wrong oil in...they said they would put the correct oil in when they fix the rear axle leak. i agreed and brought my 4runner in to do the work.toy tech calls me and tells me the work is completed for me to pick up. i pay them and say thank you! My 1st venture in my newly repaired 4runner, my brakes fail at 65 miles per hour on I-25.....i almost rear end a semi truck.....we get my 4runner back to toy tech and they apologize telling me that they failed to bleed all the air out of the brake line,but have fixed the problem. i get my truck and they send me on my way. the next morning i get on I-25 and my brakes fail a 2nd time.this time i had to make an emergency exit off a ramp so i don't rear end any vehicles in front of me....i call toy tech very shaken up and tell them that i am stranded and need a ride.3 hours later the tow truck shows up and we bring my 4runner back to the shop.it sits there for the weekend. Monday they call me with a 2nd diagnosis and now tell me that the problem is a bad master cylinder and it will be $430.00 to fix. i tell them that i just want to come and get my truck. they lock my 4runner in there garage and inform me that they are keeping my truck until i pay $195.00 for the tow truck...after mis- diagnosing the problem and sending me out in a dangerous vehicle twice they confiscate my truck and tell me i cannot have my Vehicle until i pay the towing fee? among other reasons, my main reason for sharing my toy tech experience is in the interest of public safety read more
