I was shopping at the Frank and Son location and they were sold out of the specific figure I wanted. They were super accommodating and offered for me to pick it up at their main location. Tried to purchase something again after a bad experience with them. Email said order went through. Then I recheck 7 days later by clicking on tracking, and says "Cancelled". What the heck, at least send an email saying its cancelled or something, common sense? These guys run like idiots, I'm sorry. I really enjoyed some conversations and options at their booth at Frank and Sons. Unfortunately, months back I was new to collecting and was excited to find a Days of Future Past Wolverine Hot Toys figure. I bought it for $250. A few days ago, it was brought to my attention that this was in fact a Days of Future Past body with a sculpt from The Wolverine. There was never a single mention, sign, or anything this was not a full, correct figure. I went back and was told it was sold as-is and all they could do for me was buy it back at a much lower price so they could resell it. How dare they try to again make a profit off of this? I understand it was displayed, but as somebody new to the hobby I would expect a full disclosure from a place like this. This isn't eBay or Offerup. I will never spend another dime at a place that takes advantage of somebody's ignorance. My lesson's been learned and I'll be much more educated moving forward on the figures I want, but I'll stick to Toy Hideout that treats people with respect. read more

So I just bought this figure on the 5th and it came today 1/12 and I gotta say it's my first time buying from you guys and I'm mad disappointed and annoyed cause I paid what 66 with shipping all together and i pretty much get a defective figure with a broken foot and a loose arm now keep in mind it was new so I won't blame them entirely but still I wasted money for a defective figure with 2 problems so mad about this cause I was looking forward to this figure but now it just feels like wasted money like I don't even mind the loose arm but the broken foot come on now and all I heard was good things from you guys in groups but now I'm so disappointed read more

I made my first stop into toy arena this past weekend. I'm from Seattle and have been looking for a good Transformers store with selection. Needless to say they had a solid selection of Tomy/Takara and other 3rd party figures. Location was easy to find and staff was cool. They were helpful but not overbearing, which is the best for me. I must admit that I found the price almost too good to be true, but it is the genuine Japanese toy. I used to go here often to pick up gunpla and figures. It is a decent spot if you need to physically look at what you want to purchase. The booth is split into two sections with one being mostly model kits and the other having figures. It can become crowded at times, but people are generally nice and try to move out of your view. They carry a nice selection of figmas, nendos, transformers, gunpla, and various small goods. Unfortunately I've had more bad experiences than good. On their website, they had a kit that was $15, and I figured it would be the same price at the F&S location. They would not honor their own website and told me to purchase on there for shipping purposes (what??) Buying figures and gunpla can become an expensive hobby, so if a lower price is available, it'll make any collector happy. To say if you can't afford it so don't complain is idiotic. ^_^ I'll keep buying online and other stores, but not from this location anymore. Very first time ordering an item from them and even giving them a benifit of the doubt that their scams based of what i heard from many ppl but oh no their far from horrid. I recently order a kingdom hearts figure and start asking more questions regarding my order. ToyArena is an online toy retailer as well as having a physical shop within the Frank & Sons warehouse. In addition to that, this store also does numerous trade shows and cons. The merchandise tend to focus on Gundam plastic models and Transformers toys, but they also carry action figures of comic superheroes and even Japanese superheroes. Typically, you would shop here for either Gundam models or Transformers. I have most of my Transformers toys needs satisfied by ToyArena. Their prices from a lot of the imported goods are very fair. The problem lies with their domestic stock, especially Hasbro items, which are highly marked up. I am assuming this is because they do not have a direct account with Hasbro and their stock mainly comes from local chain stores with Transformers toys. This being said, they stock all of the new releases of official and unofficial (third-party) figures. If there was a Transformers item released by Takara-Tomy or a popular third party brand, it will most definitely be here. I have also been able to find the S.H. Figuarts line here. They stock a lot of the Kamen Rider series as well as the Bluefin exclusive Dragon Ball Z line. If you buy online, you can pick it up at their warehouse. However, if you go to their actual shop, you can get the items for tax-included price. Also, you can also negotiate the prices further. If you have a Transformers need, this is probably the best and only solution in the Southern California area. read more

This place is amazing, there both at Frank and Sons is one of the best booths inside the building, they have all types of collectibles, from transformers, starwars black series, gundam wing, batman animated series collectibles, marvel legends, and character statues, and more, the person i am used to working with is Thomas, he is a great guy, very awesome customer service, there prices for collectibles are amazing and very affordable, every time i walk into there booth i am greeted, i feel very welcomed there, i would recommend this place to everyone who is a collector, you wont be disappointed and you will get your moneys worth, another great thing about this place is there are willing to answer any question, go and check them out you will not regret it, i cant wait to go back, they are the best read more

Toy Arena is a great place to buy all of your Transformers, Gundam, and anime figures. They have a booth at Frank & Sons as well as online at Toyarena.com. I buy almost all of my 3rd party transformers from these guys. The staff is very friendly and really knowledgeable, if they dont have it in there frank & sons location they can usually find whatever I am looking for in their warehouse and have really competative prices.Definitely worth checking them out if you are a transformers, gundam, or anime fan. read more

I was trying to buy a vegeta sh figuarts and had payed for it already. It was around $60 just to be told after I had already payed that it was already opened before and not new. I was mad but I wanted to trade it in for another figure. I wanted to see if I can trade it in for gotenks instead, which is a much cheaper figure, and the guy said of course without hesitation. This proved to me that they wanted to scam me. So I said nvm and instead went with the great saiyaman figure which was around the same price. I've gone plenty of times to this place but I'm discouraged to continue going here. read more

well, this place is advertised on one of my toy forums so finally I gave them a try. Mistake, bad luck? 10 days with order in "processing". I checked on the 3 items in on the site...all 3 "IN Stock" still after I ordered 10 days before that. I emailed them just to check on what's going on (trying to be patient). Oh, one of the items was not in stock, the one I really wanted, which was becoming scarce, but order the 3 figures I kind of wanted to get free shipping...so like 2 days later they emailed saying 1 items was not in stock and cancelled it and sent the other 2 right out. Same day, . the website shows "not in stock" anymore JOKE. I said I'd be sending back the 2 and cancelling the order.....and any future ideas I had to do business with them again read more

I agree with the previous reviewers - the one guy behind the counter is nice however the one that deals with the pricing...named SAM...over at the F&S booth needs a serious attitude adjustment. He could care less if he had your business. He does not price match and over charges on the transformers + he is extremely rude. After multiple interactions with him he always gives attitude. I thought he was having a bad day but nope he's just a miserable person who gets off on having control and being rude to customers. He needs to stay home. He is a snappy turtle and I will not return to his booth so long as he is there. When he's gone and his friends take over is the only time it's pleasant. I am bummed out this is the only place to have 3rd party Transformer stuff in Southern California,especially at Franks and Sons and for a local collector like myself. Too bad I cant give Zero stars. I bought a Transformer that was defective during a trip to Franks and I emailed ToyArena and I was told to bring it back into the shop at Frank and Sons since I didnt know how to transform it and I would be shown how to transform it properly. Ive been in the Transformer game for 20 years and clearly know how transform figures. After bringing in the figure the owner could clearly see it was defective and it had nothing to do with transformation but instead of a refund or exchange, I was offered 5 dollars off if I bought the same figure all over again. What! Ive had friends who have ordered stuff from them only to have received it damaged(the box for the figure or the figure itself),then offered the same 5 dollars off if they bought it all over again or 5 dollars off another purchase. I do miss the customer service from one of the guys who worked there named Willy,he was clearly into the hobby and wanted to make sure people were taken care of. I wish he was still around as he was very friendly and very much into the fandom. I have seen the owner Tom rip TF fans off when there is clearly better deals out there online. A recent example is $260 for Takara Unite Warriors Devastator at their shop in Franks. You can buy it online for $220. There are clearly better stores our there with way better customer service. The Chosen Prime,ToyDojo and CapturedPrey just to name a few for all your Transformer and 3rd Party Transformer needs. read more

When i brought this up, I was told that they would not honor their website prices. I think that its poor practice that they aren't price matching their own website. I purchased a transformer for Christmas for my son, about 6-7 inches Caelus Dinobot but the heels broke off when my son transformed it. He has other transformers and has experience transforming them. However, they hassle me to exchange the item. They ask for pictures and the site doesn't cover shipping for exchange. I need to pay $16. ToyArena is the place to go in SoCal for various hobby figures ranging from plastic models kits, Transformers, Figurarts, Nendoroids and many other figures in general. They have pretty good supply and usually stock the new stuff coming out. ToyArena gets on top of their pre-orders and ensures their stock barring any issues of just being short-stocked from their suppliers, which would be out of their control anyways. The staff at Frank and Sons and at the warehouse location are kind and welcoming on top being pretty helpful to everyone that comes in looking for stuff. They also are well-versed of the things they sell so they know to point you to what you're looking for or can try and find it for you if they don't currently have it instock and on hand for any reason. The prices for most part is pretty fair and much better than most retailers that deal in the hobby collectible market, especially for being able to get the stuff right there upfront in person. read more
