One of the things that I love about being a teacher is that I will always be exposed to toys and materials that are educational, then playing - I mean, testing them. We usually have a supplier for these, but occasionally I need to buy them myself and just have it reimbursed.
I recently went to Toys R Us looking for plastic eggs and little toy dinosaurs, and I spent longer than I should've just browsing all the toys I want for myself.
PROS: Toy stores just fill me with happy feelings of wonder and amazement and refusal to be an adult. Toys R Us has a great number of selections for every kind of kid or kid-at-heart, from Avengers action figures, to Furbies, bikes, and gaming consoles.
CONS: It's filled with toys, yes, and most of the time it's enough to make me happy. However, the place has this warehouse-like vibe where the shelves are all standing too close to each other and there's just no style or deign to its interiors. It just a department store of toys, that's it.
TL;DR: Toys R Us is pretty straightforward for the adult looking for something for the kids, but a little lacking in the "magic" that makes toy stores the Mecca for children. read more
