Very neat little Thai restaurant in downtown Sheboygan. A pleasant little area. As soon as the entry door slammed behind us, we knew we were in for a treat. The lobby is small, but there is a decent seating area for dine in to the left of the lobby. There are no draft beers, but they do have a few bottle selections. After trying my husband's Lao, I swapped my initial selection for his. The food arrived quickly and was fresh to order . We had the egg rolls and gyoza for an appetizer. The food was not far behind. The noodles on the noodle dishes were wider than what I am used to but were very delicious. Both the fried rice and noodle dishes had a lot of sauce which I love. We ordered our dishes on a spice level of 4. This was a medium hot in my opinion. They do have a caddy of sauces that they will bring out so that you can add whichever flavors you want. This place is very reasonably priced especially considering the quality of the food. I will definitely be back if I am ever back in the area. read more

Don't be deceive by the small front, this tiny place has a punch of flavor. We order the regular PadThai with extra shrimps and PadThai Curry with tofu. I heard that there were new owners and I wanted to see if the food would be the same or better. I ordered from Doordash and they didn't receive my order. But that was fine; my dasher ordered for me. It took ~30 minutes for them to make my food (2 orders of Lao style papaya salad). I didn't mind the wait, but the food was not good. My papaya salad tasted like there was soy sauce in it. Just beyond amazing Thai food I've ever had in the US! We custom ordered about 8 main dishes 4 appetizers and it fed 8 adults 5 younger kids and only cost about $100! Our group is vegetarian with some chicken eaters so they happily made every dish without eggs, fish sauce, and oyster sauce! Some we requested no onions for our no onion folks and everything was perfectly made! I love Thai food, and when we moved to Sheboygan, I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find any. I ordered Toys, but I didn't have too much hope. Boy was I wrong! It's amazing! Thai Princess Shrimp is the best I've had. I love their egg rolls. I've had their Thai fried rice and it's equally as delicious. I came here for the first time on a rainy day, and it was great. They have limited servers, so it was difficult for ours to get to us in a timely manner, but we weren't in a rush, so it worked well. The food was okay, but the curry was a bit thicker and maybe sweeter than I'm used to. I have to say though, that I struggle with how to order curry heat in Thai restaurants. I love spicy, but not so much that it distracts me from the food. It's hard to convey that, so now I ask for mild or medium. I also got the rice veggie wraps and those are legit. Two months in our new home here in Sheboygan we have found our favorite restaurant! We have eaten here at least once a week for the past month and have tried many different things on the menu with impressive and delectable success with everything we've tried. Being vegetarians, my wife and I have been impressed with the menu's ability to accommodate us--it's flexibility. The wait staff are always so friendly and helpful. The spring rolls are amazing and the curries are the best I've ever had (and Thai is my #1 favorite food). And though never a big fan of Vietnamese food and it's phôs, we have been won over by Alexis's! It has been a LONG time since I have had Thai food this good--and it is consistent: the quality and taste have never disappointed! I feel that I could eat here every day and never get bored, never be disappointed, always come away very happy! And the portions are large enough that there are always leftovers for the next day! And the interior atmosphere of Toy's is like entering a comforting den of cultural richesse in which one may even find oneself privileged enough to hear a sacred story or two. I catered for my 30th birthday and was not disappointed! I ordered beef with mixed veggies in brown sauce and couldn't stop eating it the whole night! I also ordered their fried rice with chicken and the taste was exactly what I hoped it to taste! Their papaya and cucumber papaya is always on point! Went here recently while traveling on business. I love Thai food and travel to Thailand regularly. I recognize the food in Thailand is different from American Thai;however, I can't agree with the other reviews. I do not regularly review but use yelp a lot while traveling for the reviews so I feel I owe an honest review for others like me. The Tom Kah was sweet and lacked the lemongrass flavor I am familiar with. The Panang Curry was similarly sweet and lacked the Thai flavor that I am used to when eating Thai in the US. There was one red pepper in the bowl the rest was onions and no Bambi shoots, big disappointment. It was inexpensive so that may appeal to you. If you regularly eat Thai this might not be for you. I am sorry that this is so negative but I hope you find it factual. Additionally we were there on a Wednesday night during prime time and we were the only people in the restaurant. read more

Good Place to Eat We were visiting from out of town and longed for food other than heavy sausage or pizza. We chose Toys because it looked good and was within walking distance. The server was nice, though distracted by having to handle carry-out orders, too, and she got our orders in and the food reached our table quickly. We shared a combination appetizer, all good though not extraordinary. Our main dishes were all very tasty, well cooked, and flavorful. I took my my students here on a class field trip. There were approx. 30 of us, and Toy's were able to accommodate all of us for lunch. THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT. All dishes were fresh, delicious and authentic. All of my students enjoyed the service and the coziness of the restaurant. We also met the owner, who is a tremendous woman! You really felt like you found a secret treasure of a restaurant! The dinning room was small, not really good for big groups, and I don't think small children would do well there. Wife and I came here hungry and ready to taste. Ordered 3 "appetizers" Pho noodle soup, Cucumber salad plus the Spring Rolls; then then 2 entrees. Mine a Kung Pao Pork stir fry, hers a curry dish highlighting squid (calamari to some of you). All 5 dishes were very good. Subtle flavors where expected, and enhanced flavors that were exciting and satisfying. I like spicy food and had to ask if there were different "heat" levels. I asked that my Kung Pao be "spicy", 3rd of "mild", "medium" and "spicy". Everything else was ordered as it came. Most everything is quite mild; spring rolls with peanut sauce were best I've tasted, cuke salad was mild, but very substantial, Pho was a great meal in itself. Needed more heat for me; trays full of condiments were visible, but had to be asked for. Excellent food in taste and presentation, nice dining room and reasonable prices will make me visit here again. read more
