The dogs stability and safety are their priority, they maintain very clean kennels with happy dogs who are taken out for play multiple times a day. They maintain a regular schedule with the dogs they care for which is important for several reasons. They stayed with them for a week and came home excited but not nervous or upset at all. We paid Jim Sosler over $1600 to get help with our dog who had a recent aggression issue and after 2 months of personal sessions at our house his command obedience had hardly progressed and was continually non-compliant for Jim. Jim became increasingly frustrated and proceeded to blame my husband for not doing the 'homework' commands when in fact he was. The last session at our home Jim offered to give us a refund but I wanted to give it one last shot at an alternate venue that wasn't our home. My husband showed up late due to direction miscommunication and when the lesson didn't go well again he suggested splitting the difference of the refund with Jim. He also went on to let Jim know the accusatory emails he sent blaming my husband for lack of progress (totally unprofessional) wasn't appreciated. Once Jim heard that he retorted we'd "have to take him to small claims court to get our money back and he'd subpoena our dog as proof". I officially terminated our training arrangement via email and requested a refund of what I thought was a more than reasonable request --- less hours spent + fuel costs --- to which I have never gotten an acknowledgment.

I am now more please with care he is getting from a new doctor, Dr. Curtiss. We have seen him twice now. He is very thorough and gentle with Bentley. Even sat on the floor to talk to him to help Bentley relax. The treats probably helped as well. The whole staff is very kind, gentle and loving with the pets.

I've been taking my dog to Alpine for almost a year, so I'm extremely disappointed with my…read moreexperience today and, most importantly, the lack of communication and transparency. I brought my dog in on Friday for an ear infection. During the exam, the doctor looked in her other ear and discovered a grass seed very close to her eardrum. They attempted to remove it but were unsuccessful, so I was told she would need to be sedated to safely remove it. I dropped her off this morning at 8:00 AM. The tech went over her paperwork and needed my signature. As I went through the list of charges, I noticed there was a charge for anti-nausea medication. On Friday, I was specifically told that if I brought her in Monday with no food in her system (for 12 hrs), the anti-nausea medication would not be necessary. So I questioned why it was included on the estimate today. I would expect the charges to reflect what I was previously told. I was also told by the tech that someone would call me by 12:30 PM to let me know how the procedure went. I did not receive a call until 1:50 PM, as shown in my call log. When they finally called, I was told the procedure went well and the grass seed was successfully removed. However, I was then told that her heart rate was still a little low and they recommended giving her a reversal medication for the sedation, which would cost an additional $61. I told the lady I wanted to make a quick phone call and would call her right back. Eight minutes later, I called back to ask what her heart rate was. I was then told her heart rate was 50 and improving, and that they no longer felt the reversal medication was necessary. My biggest concern is the communication surrounding this. If her heart rate was already improving within those eight minutes, why wasn't I contacted to let me know that the additional medication was no longer necessary? Instead, I was initially presented with an additional $61 charge and had to call back myself to find out that the situation had changed. I understand that medical situations can change and that sedation carries risks, but as a pet owner, I expect to be clearly informed throughout the entire process and if something changes. I understand that veterinary care is expensive, and I am absolutely willing to pay for necessary care for my dog. What I'm not okay with is unclear communication and feeling like I have to question whether recommended services are actually necessary. After almost a year of bringing my dog here, I expected much better communication and transparency. While I'm thankful that the grass seed was successfully removed and that the procedure itself went well, today's experience has completely changed my trust in this clinic. Unfortunately, I will no longer be taking my dog to Alpine for future treatment.
