I usually play here about 5 times a year and it's generally a pleasant experience…read more This time however, was not. My friend booked 18 holes at 3pm for our twosome. We both live about an hour away. When we went to the pro shop, the young lady started to check us in and said ok 9 holes with a cart and i said "9? We booked for 18". She looked at the guy that was hanging out behind the counter and he said yeah, you can only play 9. With a bunch of back and forth with this jerk, we ended up leaving. He had the worst attitude I've ever come across in my 25 years of playing. We tried to express that we booked for 18, we drive an hour to get there and his excuse was that a bunch of tee times came in from Golf Now. Bunch of bs but since we were there, we were going to play the nine anyway but he couldn't even tell us what 9 we could play or even when we could tee off. And his attitude got worse after that. I feel sorry for the young lady that has to work with that prick. So we went to Easton Country Club. We'll not EVER go back to OSL.

These people won't like this course because Olde Scot employees make sure the game is played on 4-4.5 hours. I hope those people go somewhere else. Great job Olde Scot...keep up the great work. We will be there soon.

If you're good enough to play somewhere else, by all means do so. Positives: Empty. You can come to this place on a Saturday at prime time and get out right away. I finish 9 holes here with my friends consistently under 2 hours. It also means those wild slices 3 fairways away won't hit anyone. Bonus! Cheap. Its like $30 to play 18 here on the weekends. You get what you pay for of course, but its great if you're stingy with the wallet. Negatives: Boring layout. How many holes can go straight ahead completely flat? Yawn. There's 1 dog leg in this entire 9 hole course, and there's no hills. Just tee it up and hit it wherever you want. There are almost no trees or water. Great if you couldn't hit the side of the White House with your driver. The course is in tough shape too. Its possible that the 15 old men mentioned above also do the landscaping here, but only when they feel like it. The greens are like putting on carpet covered in molasses. Nothing breaks at all, so just line it up and slam it on the greens. Overall Grade: D+ That grade goes up significantly if you're trying to learn the game. No one will ridicule you here, and you have to be pretty friggin bad to be the worst golfer on the course. No one hits the ball straight, so if you can hit your tee shot 150 yards straight you'll feel like Tiger Woods here. Great place to just screw around on the weekends without dropping a lot of cash.

Our granddaughter got married and had her reception at NewHill on 5/22/26. We were the first wedding under the club's new ownership. This was a large wedding that utilized the pond area for the ceremony, the deck for the open bar & appetizer hour and the large ballroom for the reception. Everything was flawless and that says a lot when there were many new employees, chefs & cooks, bartenders and management testing their skills for the first time. The original booking was with the previous ownership under the Hillside brand and we worried about the transition. Believe us when we tell you that there was no need to worry. The whole day was perfect. NewHill Country Club has completely erased any previous experience you may have had when they were Hillside.

Went here for some lunch before my pedicure at Cristallo Spa. I've been to this restaurant before in the summer, where you can sit out on the deck overlooking the golf course. They had trivia then, too, which was a lot of fun. This time, the porch was closed so we ate inside. It was mostly just golfer dudes, but that's to be expected. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was very attentive despite being in charge of the rest of the dining room and bar. I ordered the wagyu beef hot dog with sweet potato fries. I really liked the fries and the hot dog was good, too. Nothing too special, but enjoyable. I tried my mom's margherita pizza, which did not seem like a true margherita, and that was less than spectacular. The cheese was not giving fresh mozzarella and it was lacking the other components of a real margherita pizza. Plus the crust was undesirable. While dining inside was just okay, I would certainly go back for trivia night or anther event outdoors!
