favorite course in south shore, great layout always provides a challenge. greens are always in great shape.

First let me say that the course is actually a lot of fun...not in the best shape but has the bones for an good round of golf. HOWEVER, THE STAFF is below-standard. On 3 different holes I was driven into...two time by the group behind us....and once from a t-box in opposite direction. When I say driven into...2 landed within 5 feet of me. So of course I picked up their balls since there wasn't even an attempted fore or sorry. When I discussed with Ranger he said he'd take care of it. BUT here's the rest of the story...he came back 5 minutes later and said I was mistaken that only 2 groups had driven into me. Ok his facts are wrong...and I have the golf balls to prove it. However when I suggested his facts were wrong...he raised his voice and stated: "I know what happened here and you are wrong." And I said no, your facts are wrong. In his huff he departed but told me over my shoulder: "GO F*Ck yourself! I DEMAND MORE FROM A GOLF COURSE....THIS WAS REPHENSIBLE BEHAVIOR. read more

I usually play here about 5 times a year and it's generally a pleasant experience. This time however, was not. My friend booked 18 holes at 3pm for our twosome. We both live about an hour away. When we went to the pro shop, the young lady started to check us in and said ok 9 holes with a cart and i said "9? We booked for 18". She looked at the guy that was hanging out behind the counter and he said yeah, you can only play 9. With a bunch of back and forth with this jerk, we ended up leaving. He had the worst attitude I've ever come across in my 25 years of playing. We tried to express that we booked for 18, we drive an hour to get there and his excuse was that a bunch of tee times came in from Golf Now. Bunch of bs but since we were there, we were going to play the nine anyway but he couldn't even tell us what 9 we could play or even when we could tee off. And his attitude got worse after that. I feel sorry for the young lady that has to work with that prick. So we went to Easton Country Club. We'll not EVER go back to OSL. read more

We have a group of guys that have been going here for years. It is one of our favorites. anyone that say anything else is probably drinking through out there round to answering their phone and playing slow. These people won't like this course because Olde Scot employees make sure the game is played on 4-4.5 hours. I hope those people go somewhere else. Great job Olde Scot...keep up the great work. The food and the people!! We attended a wedding last weekend, our friends were able to get married under the tent, it was breezy and beautiful. There was plenty of really room to mill around and be comfortable inside or out. BUT - the food was the best food I've had at a wedding (or even most restaurants and we eat out a lot). The variety, presentation, temperature, options, 5 star quality and the workers that supported the event were on top of the dishes, glasses and keeping the tables clean and really friendly and professional. read more

I've played this course before and there's nothing wrong with the course itself. When I pay to play a course I don't expect to need a shave by the time I complete my round. Playing on a Thursday you wouldn't expect to be out there for 5 hours, the the staff at this golf course managed to pull off the impossible , a five hour round with a ranger that appeared to like driving around all day and never say a word to a soul. I have a bit of experience with managing a golf course as I've worked at a variety of courses over the last 17 years public and private. When there's a gap of 3 holes in front of a group maybe the make believe ranger might consider his options like play ready golf or the unthinkable of moving the offending group up a hole or politely mention to the group that they are holding up the entire golf course. Hint to management, golf is a game of rhythm and not all players are professional but certainly the staff must have a clue as to why they are there and that is to manage pace of play and watching four players in the woods for 8 minutes like they're in there searching for the Lindbergh baby just doesn't cut it. So if you're looking to spend a day drinking or smoking joints or you're just out for a stroll in the woods this is the place for you otherwise spend your money at a course that knows how to manage the pace of play so everyone can enjoy their round. read more

We recently had our wedding at Olde Scotland Links, and it was a great experience from start to finish! Allison was great to work with. She was patient, helpful, and accommodating, and we could not be happier with how the day went. We also cannot say enough great things about Summer, Jenna, and Olivia, who also helped make our special day a memorable one. The room was perfectly decorated and the food was outstanding too! We had so many guests compliment us on how delicious everything was. We were very satisfied with everything and highly recommend this venue for an event. read more

We were there for a memorial service for a friends son who passed away unexpectedly out of town. They brought him home. He was a marine veteran, and we had a great party sending him off. All of the food was amazing. They had this incredible chicken salad sandwich that only had Craisins,unlike. the ones in the store that has nuts which I can't eat. I was able to eat the sandwich. I almost took an extra one to take home, but didn't want to look greedy. All the other food served was excellent right down to the special desserts of cupcakes that were the same cocktails that he used to drink. They also had special drinks of the day and honor of him. the staff was wonderful. They weren't overwhelming or right on top of you, but they were available matter what you needed. It is definitely a place to do a function. It is a beautiful hall with a great view. Everyone should check them out. read more

Can't beat the quality for the price. Really friendly staff. The course is especially great for walking as it's relatively flat.

Getting two stars because I have always liked this course(layout and conditions). Unfortunately, it doesn't receive the remainder three, because I have no interest to pay for obnoxious behavior. All the way from the pro shop by charging $84 for greens fees for weekday golf to the 19th hole with flippant remarks from the bartender. I'm all set. read more

I love this course. I regularly played golf here for years until I moved out of the area (every Saturday at 7:30am) with a great group of women - we were the first female foursome to play this course on a regular basis. In the middle of winter, when I daydream about playing a round, this is my go-to course in my head! I wish I could play here every week still, but I make a road trip here to play a couple of times a season just to sate my OSL jones. Nice setup from car to cart. The course is challenging enough to make it playable for beginners with some skills to advanced players with a good long game. I play woods and wedges and have had great rounds here as well as depressingly killer rounds, it all just depends how you set your shots up to the rolling, sometimes tricky greens. The first three holes will move you along to get things going, then it's all up to you! With five sets of tees it's easy to find your level, and listen to the rangers for advice; if they approach you it means you need to speed it up a little. I have to say it - use common sense. Just because you have extra T does NOT mean god meant for you to play the back tee. With wide open fairways and long approaches it can pay here to play like a girl, hitting straight and hopefully long.If you can't make it to most greens in 2 or 3 then you might consider playing the middle tees. It's not shameful to move up a little, it makes the game more fun for you and everyone around you! If you choose your tee correctly and play smartly you'll have 18 holes carded in just about 4 hours, depending on the play speed of those around you. I think the 18th hole is worth the whole ride, with a long & straight yet deceptive fairway - be careful of the sand on the left off the tee that you'll overlook because of the sand on the right! Get over the fescue and approach the green boldly - bang it up and get on or you'll roll back and get caught up in a hollow that will give you agita like no other! Play until the snow flies and the course closes, winter golf here is only helped by ice on the water holes! read more

This course is what it is. Its a spot to play winter golf on the south shore because its the only place that literally doesn't care about the damage that hackers can inflict on a course in sopping wet or frozen conditions. This course takes an absolute pounding, but chuckleheads in jeans will keep plopping down their cash and won't even notice. read more

Pretty good design. Awful condition! Tees very bad shape. Fairways average at best. Greens below average. Slow and grainy. You might as well walk this course cause you pay for 18 holes and cart and still end up walking 9 cause every fairway is roped off for most of it. Will not play here again, not worth the $60 to ride. Which is a shame cause the layout is pretty good. read more

The golf course is beat. Course is not maintained well. The greens are bumpy, and no one who plays there knows how to repair a ball mark. If you've ever watched the Price Is Right and seen the game Plinko... that's how your ball rolls on these greens. The holes are stacked close together so you'll know the players on other holes pretty well, or you'll have your round ended early because of an injury from an errant drive. Pick some place else to play. Any where. read more

The course is always in great shape! Even with this summer's drought the course stayed nice. Plenty of practice areas - if you are a local, try the private driving range membership! This is a great course for any skill level. read more
