If you are in a time crunch in leave for Japan in a few days, you should just purchase the tickets in Japan or through the official JR pass website. FYI the fees are a bit higher if you purchase the passes in Japan or through the JR website.

Fare prices: As it's expensive, I always do my homework: I check airfares online and call a couple of Japanese travel agencies in the US. Since 2008, I have only bought tickets from IACE when I travel to Japan. Japanese travel agencies tend to have better deals than airlines or other online venders, at least slightly. They also give you different rates for children, which I never get online (e.g., airlines webpages or other third party sites, like Kayak). I've always saved money buying tickets from them. Service: The agents are knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. As they are knowledgable, they can search for the best deals. Something unique about IACE is that they have a call center, which is open 24/7. Almost a decade ago, my son was hospitalized in Japan, and I had to change our tickets coming back to the US multiple times. As their call center is always open, I was able to call them without worrying about the time difference. Customer Care: When the big earthquake hit northern part of Japan in March 2011, we had planed a trip to Japan in the same month. As we were not sure if it's safe, we decided to postpone the trip (indefinitely). Under the special circumstances, we requested Delta Airlines to refund our money. They refused despite our multiple requests. IACE contacted the airline on our behalf, but they didn't budge. In the end, IACE Travel gave us back $100 per ticket out of their pocket. Although it was a fraction of what I had paid for the tickets, their gesture was priceless. Ever since, I'm a loyal customer of IACE! Recommendation: Their prices are very competitive. They also go above and beyond to help their customers. If you're planning on a trip to Japan, I strongly recommend you to give them a call. They'd be very happy to help you. They never pressure you to buy anything until you're ready. Before the quake happened, they were very patient and persistent with me with answering e-mails, no matter how frivolous the subject, because they wanted to everything to as non-stressful as possible. Also, even though I've never been on a tour of theres, I can tell that they want a unique experience for everyone. With their variety of tours, it feels that they don't want to give the feeling of being " shoved on a bus with the maximum capacity of people, and only view the sights from the window seats" type of tour. It seemed that they want you to absorb in the culture by taking you through the mass transit of the people, hence making it cheaper for everyone, and making it such a great experience.

I didn't need to fill out any paperwork or take any pictures. Within 5 days they called me back and I picked up my passport and visa (sticker) inside. (I'm Vietnamese) you have to be Vietnamese to get the 5 year one I believe. I've recommended all my Viet friends who wants to visit Vietnam even though they said they're only going for a short time. Once you visit VN you'll more likely will go back next time etc. With a 5 years one, you don't need to keep getting a tourist visa everytime. This saves time and money.

Now you must hop on and off the K LINE and exit the LAX drop off just to connect to the green line. It's frustrating but it must be done to get on the green line. Overall, this train is ok compared to the blue and red line. Warning, you will encounter all types of people that are crazy, deranged, violent, smelly, loud, strange, weird etc.. You name it. Overall, it's a solid line for commuting from Point A-B. It's safe pertaining to engineering and train conductors. The people inside determines your experience. Ride at your own risk. This is probably the most convenient way to go to LAX from Redondo Beach.

This station still has easy parking (free) and connection access to local city Metro services, also smooth access for ride share. There isn't much directly next to Redondo Beach Station, but it's a very short commute to the Best Buys of my youth, Lawndale High where many old friends attended, local city parks, eateries, Manhattan Beach and a elevated dive bar I like, Artesia Bar. Stairs, escalator and elevator access available as this is an high above ground station, similar to Expo/Sepulveda Station, if you know it. TAP kiosk for balance, refill and purchasing of LA Metro Tap cards, though you can also download and use the TAP app with a digital card. It's the last stop on the K Line if traveling on the Pink train from Expo/Crenshaw, or the first if commuting. I'm not on this side of town or the MTA too often, but when I am, I definitely don't mind boarding or exiting at Redondo Beach Station.
