I hired this company to cater a Celebration of Life last week. The food was mediocre, lack luster, and overpriced. There wasn't much service served buffet style. I was paying for servers. I would not use again. Recommendations: Serve drinks and appetizers first while preparing. Plate and serve salad to allow you more time to prepare entrees. The main entree was jumbo shrimp you should have prepared more than one tray for feeding over 70 people. There was nothing special everything was mediocre, lackluster. read more

I called 8 different caterers in search of a caterer who could do a plated dinner (with servers) for a fundraiser banquet for our nonprofit. All but one, didn't have the staff to do it. One caterer suggested that I use them and enlist my own volunteers to serve. Then I found Ashley Catering. Not only did they have the staff to do a plated dinner for 150 guests, they had an awesome dinner selection! We gave our guests the option to have either Garlic-crusted Tri-tip, Rosemary Chicken, or Ricotta stuffed Manicotti. All of the food choices were excellent. Everyone was pleased and highly praised the food and professional service - no complaints! My wife and I were so busy hosting that we didn't get to eat at the event. Philip, the coordinator, saw this and made us to-go plates with a sample of all three meal options! We ate as soon as we got home and the food, even later, was outstanding! They also provided, and set up, all of the table linens. The decor was outstanding and the table settings were on point. We picked Ashley Catering by looking at Yelp reviews. We had no reference from friends or family so we were apprehensive. With that said, we were SO pleased with Ashley Catering. Our guests raved about how delicious everything was! We had a carving station, turkey and prime rib. They provided several condiments that were terrific! They had the typical sides like au jus, but they also had lemon horse radish (so good) and a garlic mustard. The mushroom gravy was unique but absolutely delicious! My husband is very particular about gravy (and does not like mushrooms) but he couldn't get enough of it! The staff that arrived at the house were friendly and professional. Mel was kind, helpful, and went over and above to make our night problem-free. They cleaned up and left no trace of crumbs. They set up and cleaned up with ease and I never had to check on them to ensure everything was going as planned. The week prior to the event, communication was good. When my first caterer cancelled on me 6 weeks before my wedding, my amazing mother stepped in and found Ashley's Catering. It was a Sunday when she called and they answered! As a bride crying in the background, they reassured me that they can do the job. With only 6 week notice! They were super sweet and helpful. As it got close to the wedding, they contacted me to get any details we may of missed. The day of, they arrived on time and the set up was beautiful! They rolled with all punches and if there was any issues, I never knew of it. Now the best part, the food! OMG, its was amazing. We had a brunch wedding so we did the quiche. I had the honor to sample some appetizers prepared and served by Ashley's Catering at a local bridal show. I was beyond impressed and prepared to sign them for my wedding. I contacted Ashley's via email for some general information. The email went unanswered for close to a week. I then reached out, providing my phone number. A few days later I received a phone call on a Saturday morning. I was on the phone for at least 15 minutes. Each time I asked a question, it was answered with a question requesting more contact information from me. After 15 minutes of not getting answers, I became frustrated and ended the call. I have since hired another company which is a better fit for my event. I hope my experience was a fluke in that the food I tasted as the bridal show was delicious, I just couldn't risk working with a company I had difficulty communicating with. read more

We had an appointment set up to do test tasting. We had to rearrange our entire schedules and drive an hour and a half from Orange County. As we're turning in right at our scheduled time, our coordinator contacts us that they messaged her RIGHT THEN that tasting needs to be rescheduled. The staff of this company, including the owner are very unprofessional and are liars and thieves. The wait staff had to be asked multiple times to clear off tables and seemed annoyed when they were asked to serve food after a majority of people had already eaten. the food was ok, the service was good. The reason behind me giving 4 stars 1) They arrived about 2 hours late to set up and the reason I knew they were arriving late was because I called and asked for the ETA, I never received a call to be notified about tardiness 2) Most of the time the staff was hanging out inside of my home while the event was taking place in the garden area. It wasn't as attentive as I was assuming. 3) food was ok not great, the food was served warm-ish not as hot as I would have liked it to. Overall experience was ok.
