Both myself and my husband agree: Traci is as good as it gets! After having many superb massage appointments with her, I referred my husband who has a very different set of body work concerns as me (he is at a desk all day, very tall, travels a lot- I am a runner, and I am very small), but she manages to amaze us both and be the perfect fit regardless of how different our needs and concerns are. I recall one time I had a headache that would not go away for a week (yikes!), and after trying various medications, and even a massage earlier that week, Traci managed to eliminate my headache within the first 10 minutes of our massage. I have had the great pleasure of getting worked on by Traci Sutton since 2010. I believe this enables me to sum up the bigger picture of who she is as a therapist, a business person, and an individual. Traci has an extremely high standard of ethics, which is one of the reasons I respect her so much. She is also one of the most aware people I have ever met. She not only has healing hands, she also has a therapy background that enables her to hear people talk about their innermost issues and respond to them in a deeply compassionate way. Traci's compassion carries over in other special ways - like finding specific period music to play during massage for a senior client who misses dancing to certain songs when she was young. The joyful setting that she creates for that client during her weekly massages cannot be conveyed in words. Her massage technique combines Lomi Lomi, Swedish, and Cranial work to create a session in which her nurturing energy shines through. Her flowing Lomi-style strokes down my back, with just the right pressure for me, always puts me OUT!! As an individual, Traci is a giver and this is certainly evident in her demeanor and her touch. From her choice of career to her choice of volunteer work (most recently, giving bodywork to children who are transplant patients at UCLA), she is a quality person who anyone would feel lucky to have in their lives! I have been getting regular massages from Traci for almost ten years, since May 2009. She is great! She is a lovely person, easy to talk to, a good listener, and a skilled practitioner of massage. I note that I have a slowly progressive neurological disorder that causes a great deal of stiffness and pain. Traci's massage helps alleviate these symptoms. Traci Sutton was an amazing experience.. She came to my place WITH table, and set it up with quickness!. Before getting a massage, we sat down in the comfort of my own living room (which doesn't sound relevant, but if you're about to openly talk about yourself - it matters). We spoke for over an hour! And it really flew by. She was able to make meaningful connections about my current lifestyle practices, and suggestions as to why I do them - and more importantly what they mean. Despite how deep this sounds, it was all very uplifting and promising, and not in an empty, inflated way. She has a great, comforting way about her. And then a massage to boot! I've experienced Traci's gifts as a massage therapist and healer many times in the past. She is on my short list of "go to's" for therapeutic massage and bodywork. Beyond her obvious technical skills and her extensive training, Traci possesses gifts that I feel are essential for truly effective healing work. Gifts that are rare among the myriad of MT's out there. Compassion and empathy are at the top of the list. For the most part, true compassion cannot be faked, you just feel it from an individual, you know it in your heart. Traci is genuine. Her compassion and empathy for her fellow humans comes out naturally. When Traci is with you, she is truly present, she is there for you. Recently, my mom had a short hospital stay followed by several days in a nursing facility. Though not in too serious condition, just being away from her home and familiar surroundings, at her age (88) was very stressful. Daily physical therapy and many hours of lying in a hospital bed also were a factor. I arranged for Traci to come visit my mom at the hospital and again at the adult care facility to give her some healing massage and bodywork. This is where Traci's aforementioned rare qualities shone forth. My mother had to deal with several different people through the course of her stay at the facilities; doctors, nurses, physical therapists, technicians, attendants, etc. Although all were in a healing profession in their own right, some were not as compassionate in their work as they could have been (and my mom is an easy patient). As soon as Traci entered her room and introduced herself, my mom was visibly at ease. She smiled and talked easily with Traci. Traci was very good at mixing in the health questions she needed to ask in order to give my mom an effective treatment, with small talk and conversation; about her home, about her kids (and we know how mom's like to talk about their kids!) She was so comfortable with Traci so quickly, that I was able to leave for the better part of an hour as Traci massaged her legs and feet, her shoulders and hands, from lying and seated positions. By the time I came back, they were talking like old friends and my mom's various aches drifted away Since then Traci has visted my mom's home for more massage sessions and has also worked on my sister, who stays with my mom frequently (caretakers and family members need massage, too!) When you meet Traci and have a session with her, you can't help but feeling that healing massage is not just her profession, but really her calling. I received Craniosacral and massage therapy, and it was much more than on a purely physical level. I felt a beautiful flow of energy. The most kind, warm-hearted massage therapist I've met. Traci was recommended to us after my elderly mother transferred her care to Cedars Sinai from out of state. My mom battled scleroderma and tissue-thin skin and Traci found a way to still get my mother in a massage chair and make her feel at ease. My mother so looked forward to Traci's arrival and even though we only saw Traci twice, Mom was at her most relaxed during those visits out of the entirety of her week. Traci never made us feel rushed and always took the time to listen to my Mom's needs, be they anxieties of the heart and mind or pesky issues in her body. I had the pleasure of getting a massage from Traci last night. I can only describe the experience in one word: AMAZING!!! Traci came to my house and I was immediately put at ease by her warm and nurturing energy. She has a very calming and sincere presence. She came highly recommended to me from a friend of mine. My friend knows how picky I am when it comes to massages. Having been a fitness competitor for many years, I need someone who really knows the body and can get into those tight areas and really loosen them up. Traci has a very gentle but firm touch. She is very intuitive in terms of knowing which parts of the body to focus on and how much pressure to apply to each area. She takes her time and does a very thorough job of getting into all the "knooks and crannies" of the body. The overall experience was incredibly soothing, relaxing, and professional.
