The beauty about this place is that they are one of the few places in the area that accepts reactive dogs. I dropped Milo off for a daycare test run and I was nervous all day, but I told myself no news is good news. Of course, when I picked him up there was no concerns. After his first over night stay he has grown to know and love the staff, who I appreciate so much! I read some reviews about how they don't answer the phone, and they do ask for the best response to send email since they are working with many dogs they can't always man the phone. So if you have questions just email them they will get to you in a timely manner. I have asked for progress pics when I had longer stays out of town, and they were quick and happy to respond. There's lots of space for your pups to run free.

He was a patient of Companion Animal Hospital for about two years (when we moved to Austin). They used multiple testing equipment while searching for a diagnosis. Test after test proved nothing and I was heartbroken and so worried about my baby. When I told a friend what we were going through, she said, "This sounds like hemangio-sarcoma (blood cancer)!" Her friend's dog apparently had the same symptoms, so she recognized them. Now, how did a veterinary clinic NOT recognize these symptoms?? Instead, Companion Animal Hospital charged me thousands of dollars with so much prodding, and poking and charges, but they never once mentioned or suggested a sonogram. Sonograms are able to provide the answer quickly, efficiently, and for significantly less money. Isn't that ironic? I believe the veterinarians at this hospital allowed my dog to continue suffering, so that they could make thousands of dollars off of several tests because they knew they found someone who would do anything to help her dog. This is not just greedy, but it's downright cruel. I would never recommend allowing these people anywhere near an animal that you care for.

Jen came highly recommended by a close friend who knew Jen from her work with a local shelter. What I signed up for was a great dog walker. What I got was that and so much more! My dogs are a bit neurotic, I must admit. They dislike bikes, squirrels, cats and other dogs. I was a nervous have someone else walk them but I was very reassured by Jen's experience with difficult dogs. She met with me and met my pups beforehand as well to make sure it was a good fit. To say hiring Jen and Lotus to help me with my dogs was one of the best things I ever did for them may sound like an exaggeration, but it is not. They are so happy when I get home and are much, much better on leash now and are less reactive on walks. Jen also basically crate trained one of my dogs, who previously hated his crate! Now I catch him hanging out in there on his own. I can't recommend Jen enough. What you get with her services is not only dog walking but someone who truly cares about your pups. Plus her billing is easy and straightforward. I even get photos of my dogs from each visit :) In short, my dogs are more happy at the end of the day because of her!

It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

My 11 year old white poodle mix began to show lots of sudden fatigue, appetite loss, vomiting and diarrhea. I contacted their front desk and was encouraged to bring my dog Oliver in as soon as I could. They immediately took us in and began care for him. After a thorough examination and blood work his levels were not good at all. Dr. Brown immediately reacted and hospitalized Oliver for immediate care and observation. She then educated me on his diagnosis that he was ultimately in diabetic ketoasidosis. She explained with much care, clear and concise words for me to understand. She educated me what happened, that it wasn't my fault and her plan to treat him. She gave me the worst news but I felt so reassured and supported I knew my boy was in good hands. 24 hrs later Oliver is back to his spunky self prancing, eating and being lovable. She sent us home with clear instructions and medication to keep Oliver on the path to recovery. Oliver will be back in 2 weeks for a follow up visit. The cost was surprisingly less than anticipated and I can't thank her and her amazing team enough for all they did. Oliver will be going back to visit her on a regular basis to manage his newly diagnosed diabetes and I am 100% confident Dr. Brown is the best place for any pet needing help. 10/10 can't recommend this place enough. Thank you for saving my boy!

A friend found a neonatal kitten on her land, and was unable to keep it. Next thing I know I have a…read moretwo week kitten I'm responsible for, and with no experience with these things I was terrified. I took my new kitten, Mac to homestead since it was a mile down from my house to make sure my new found buddy was healthy and get him dewormed. I was worried because he was underweight when I got him, but the staff were able to get me in two hours after they opened! The staff were so sweet and welcoming, and answered all questions I had. The wait time was a little long, however it is also an urgent care and with that I understand that emergencies come first, so please don't let that deter you from giving this amazing place a try. The doctor, Dr.Coodrod, was amazing and walked me through the next steps in Mac's life. While we talked, they kept Mac on a heating source as his temp was low when I had come in. Dr.Coonrod went out of his way to show me how to properly stimulate my kitten, and after the appointment they sent me home with two gloves filled with warm water to keep Mac warm during the drive home. A few days after my appointment, the vet office reached out to see how my friend was progressing, which I'm proud to say he is gaining weight at a great rate. The prices were great, the staff amazing, and their bedside manner is top tier. I cannot wait to bring in Mac for his first set of vaccines in a couple weeks, and as long as I live in manor, my animals will go to this hospital. As someone who used to work in vet care, this hospital is amazing and I would recommend anyone in manor get their veterinarian care here.

Sometimes I've boarded her, which usually causes her to be reluctant the next time we go for day care. Not at Pups and Pals! She is so excited every morning! The daily schedule allows for group play and indoor rest. The staff evaluates the dogs' personalities, size, and energy levels before putting them in a group. Playtime includes best friends, lots of cuddles and kisses, pools in the summer, and always playscapes. They go out anywhere between 6-8 times a day, with breaks in their air conditioned suites. The building is super nice, very new, and the play areas have K9 grass that keeps their paws nice and clean. I especially like that it is hosed every night. BTW there's a groomer onsite! Just a heads up -- it's hard to see the marquis from the 1st street entrance. You really need to know what you're looking for! April and I give Pups and Paws 4 paws up!
