Argos is a 5 month old puppy and he has never had to stay away from his dog parents before. We have a couple trips lined up so we decided to try Bed and Biscuit for a daycare trial day (which was free) to see how he'd do. The staff did such a great job updating us on how he was doing, who he played with, and upon pickup he was excited to see us but not going crazy about it. The staff gave us the recommendation of giving Argos more daycare days with them before a multi night board and he has become increasingly more and more comfortable with the staff. The facility is very small which means the dog play groups stay small too. They always set Argos up for success with well matched play companions (we have gone multiple times now including an overnight board). When you walk in the front it's very clean and is not loud, as we've experienced at some other locations. It allows for a very calm and quick drop off which I think everyone appreciates! Your dog does spend a good amount of the day in a pen by themselves so I wouldn't necessarily recommend this if your dog is not crate/pen trained (Argos isn't perfect yet but can be calm alone in his pen at home). I took my pup here for an orientation day (free by the way) and they sent me a handful of pictures in the middle of the day as well as an update. I was very happy to receive those. My pup came home tired and though she is a bit shy when meeting new people, they said she warmed up throughout the day! They will send you photos of your pet as they socialize throughout the day and let you know who they befriended during their stay. PASS: I had been leaving my dogs here for many years with no problem. Several years ago one of my pups apparently nipped one of the female staff. This was surprising because I have never known my dogs to bite. Regardless I jumped through the hoops they required and all was ok pretty much. At the same time I thought a different option might be better for everyone and had my vet watch them for a year off and on. They loved it there with no problems. This week I thought I would give BnB another shot and booked my dogs in since they were close to my home and I had to leave town. The reservation was accepted. I received a call the next day as I was leaving town that they would not accept the boarding because of the issue years ago. As you can imagine the bind this put me in. I tried to re explain to the new manager the issue and details however it fell on deaf ears. Thank goodness I was able to get them back with my vet. The customer service at BnB has always been sketchy however now it has hit rock bottom. We won't be back. read more

We are visiting Austin for a few weeks and needed boarding and daycare for our boxer Elsie. So happy we went with Bed & Biscuit Kennel. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They gave Elsie lots of loving even before we set up our appointment for evaluation. They were very accommodating on short notice. Not very happy, went in today to check out what they had to offer for my dogs. It turns out one of their employee reeked of alcohol and seemed to be incoherent. We have been taking our Andie (a blonde border collie) to Bed and Biscuit for 6 years. I should have written this review a long time ago! The staff is terrific! They never fail to call us if they have any questions, which is a sign that they strive for perfection, which is actually 99.9% true. I can't give B&B a 100% because nobody is perfect! Andie loves it there so much that when we walk in the front door, she immediately walks inside the reception desk and out to the back! Called to get information on boarding. Was told $43/day for an indoor kennel run with four ten minute breaks unless you want to pay more for social time which is also just ten minutes. How awful is that?! 40 minutes over 24hrs to be socialized. I can't even imagine. read more

The staff is friendly and professional, the City Park Rd. location is perfect for our family, and the prices are very competitive with some of the larger companies in town that no longer seem to offer that "personal touch" that we have found at B&B. Our experience at Bed and Buscuit in Lakeway has been FANTASTIC. Our dogs get excited as we turn onto Debba Dr...they bolt towards the front door, without even "donating to the canine cause". One of our rescue dogs is 100lbs and had a difficult history which has resulted in high anxiety. Their staff has put great effort to helping him feel safe during his visits; and, we have made great progress. Regardless, our dogs really write this review; it's written on their faces and in their demeanor when we pick them up. They LOVE visiting B&B, giving us tremendous piece of mind. After trying a couple of different kennels Bed & Biscuit is the one our pups decided to call their second home for day care and short term boarding. Bed & Biscuit is a small quality focused care provider for dogs. They have the same staff consistently who get to know you and your dogs. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and have a true passion for animals. They customize the dogs area as best as possible to make their stay comfortable. My dogs depending on the day may need the quiet room, a privacy sheet, and/or a thunder shirt. They get to go outside and play often with dogs that are similar in nature to them. Bed and Biscuit is very good at introducing dogs, and take special care to ensure they have a good match. They are also quick to call with ANY issues, even small things that they just want to ensure you are aware of. When we first found Bed & Biscuit we were given a tour. Their facilities is older, but clean. There is nothing fancy, except the outdoor areas do have special dog play grass (can't remember the name! :)). I don't know what we would do without Bed & Biscuit. Their rates are reasonable, and they also have grooming and dog training services available. If boarding them, you can ask for no extra charge to receive text updates with pictures. read more

I've taken my 2 nine month old Lab puppies to Bed & Biscuit many times since I've had them over the last 6 months and overall have had nothing but good experiences. I have a reasonable expectation that my dogs are safe and well taken care of after I drop them off. Bed & Biscuit did not live up to this expectation yesterday and as a result I would not recommend them again. I received a call yesterday around noon from one of the staff members explaining that one of my dogs had injured her foot in the kennel. I asked a few questions and was assured that they had no idea how it happened and that there were no markings on her foot, but that she couldn't put any weight on it at all. They said that sometime between the morning and mid afternoon outside playtime she hurt her foot in the kennel. I called my vet, made an appointment and went and picked her up. They were right that she couldn't put any weight on her foot at all, she was basically a three legged dog at that point. I had to carry her to my car and the first thing I noticed was a bare spot and dried blood on the injured leg (about the size of a dime) where the hair had been rubbed off. According to Bed & Biscuit though, there were no visible injuries on her at all. I took her to the vet and had her checked out. One hour, an x-ray and $250 later we were sent home with the hope that she will get better. There were no broken bones, but there's major ligament damage (in my vet's opinion) that should heal on it's own over the next few weeks. It looks like my dog stood up on her hind legs and got her foot caught in the bars on the door of the kennel. She couldn't get her foot out and as she struggled to get free rubbed the hair off her leg and damaged the ligaments in her foot. They showed me the kennel they had her in and I was very surprised at the size of the spaces between the bars on each kennel. I can easily see now how this would happen. If you have a larger dog, you should be concerned too. Bed & Biscuit doesn't have anyone inside the actual kennel full time (nor did I see a camera) so while my dog had her leg stuck in the door and struggled to free herself, the Bed & Biscuit staff was doing other things. The staff did seem genuinely concerned when I went back to pick up my other dog and asked if they could give my information to the owner. This is only one bad experience over many stays, but after closer inspection of where my dogs actually stay when they are there, the level of attention and care by the Bed & Biscuit staff, I won't be going back. Clearly my dogs are not safe there. read more

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW AND NEVER TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS PLACE IS UNSANITARY AND ABUSIVE!!!!!!! I don't even want to give them a star but I do want to tell everyone about my experience with these people. First of all when I got there they have about 50 dogs in a storage shed looking area individually locked up. The noise was so LOUD I can imagine it being very stressful for any pup that has to stay there. Several of the dogs did not have beds and I asked the guy giving me the tour why they didn't have beds. He told me it was because they had peed on them and dogs that pee on their beds are punished and don't get one anymore. I thought that was very harsh. I told him I needed to make sure my dog got a bed, and he said okay. Then he changed his story and said they all get beds, the ones that didn't have beds is only because we do laundry 3 times a day so they will get it back soon. YEAH RIGHT. Anyway, when I dropped my dog off he was completely Kennel trained. He would never pee or poop in his kennel. A week at Bed and Biscuits later now he poops and pees in there even immediately after I take him for a walk. This Kennel told me they would take him out for a walk 3 times a day and then he would get 30 minute playtimes. If this was the case my dog would not have lost all regard for his personal space. NOW I HAVE TO KENNEL TRAIN HIM ALL OVER AGAIN, because these people obviously left him in his cage for hours on end leaving him no choice but to poop on himself only later to get hosed down along with his pen. It makes me sad that he had to deal with that. :( Also, he was very skiddish when I first picked him up, which is not like my dog. He also had a cut that was healing on his muzzle. Oh, I almost forgot he got worms while he was there. I dropped him off on Saturday and picked him up a week later. When I picked him up the woman said that she noticed the worms on thursday and there were a lot of them. She also said they started dissipating so she didn't worry. WHY DIDN'T THEY CALL ME??? They have my phone number. They say they can give the kennel cough so I am sure they could have given him some antibiotics. I would have paid for them. Also, my dog pooped that night when I picked him up and he had NO WORMS!!! I think that woman just said that so I thought they were actually paying attention to my dog in some way. I am sorry this is so long but this place is TERRIBLE!!! Please don't listen to the other reviews people posted on here. I did and that is why my dog was abused for a week. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER use this place again. For $23 a night they could at least pretend like they like the animals they house. Next time I got out of town I will just get a petsitter. read more

Our 16 month old rescue has been going to Bed and Biscuit in Austin for doggie play dates for almost a year. The staff has always been knowledgeable and easy to work with. When we needed last minute boarding with our 2 dogs and our daughters dog, they worked with us to make it happen. They always know our dog's name(s) and what their personality is like. We've not had a bad experience with any of the staff. They're quite flexible and will contact your vet if you don't have the vaccination records handy. Note that the parking lot is small and can be crowded at normal pick up and drop off times. read more

OK-Oscar stayed here again. The facilities still looked great and Oscar was not at all hesitant to go with Gene (employee) into the kennel. Oskie even spotted a pup he met last time and seemed happy to see him. However, the little guy came home unable to bark and with an inflamed paw. I called to see if he'd gotten hurt or sick over the weekend, and they said he was playing with other dogs, having a good time, and not barking much while he was there, so I don't know what happened, but the little guy is not in quite as good of shape as when I left him, so I detract one star. I will still use the place again because it's affordable, convenient, and Oscar seems to like it. FYI- He got his bark back in approximately 3 days; it was to normal volume within 6 days. His paw healed on its own within 2 days. I think he might have just been chewing on it or something. read more

This place rocks for being less than $20/night and being super close to my house. It does not rock for not being open to pick your dog up on Sundays - though supposedly someone is there to feed your dog, etc. As far as you know... This place does not rock for my dog coming back mysteriously jacked up, every time - no voice, itching and scratching, puking, shitting, etc... But I do not fault the place, because my dog is absolutely insane, and I'm sure he does it to himself by non-stop insane playing with the other dogs. So they DO give them plenty of exercise. Oh, one other thing - they feed the dogs once a day, which I thought a bit less-than-excessive. I feed my dog twice, which is not a lot, granted, but damn! Once a day? I would NOT be a happy camper if someone fed me but once a day. But I hardly think a dog is going to bite the hand that feeds him, but ONCE a day, so there are limited options of recourse. Such is the life of a dog. In summary, I would give this place 5 stars for being such a great value, except I very nearly am forced to cough back up any money saved - and then some! - when my wife Jill W.! wants to take Oskie to the vet every time he gets back from the kennel. I've been meaning to update my review regarding the lost dog bed. It's embarrassing. We never took it in. Several days later, I found it in the back of my car. No one ever rides in my back seat and when I had things to place back there, I found it sitting on the seat just winking at me. Immediate upgrade to 5 stars! I'm writing this on the couch in my abnormally quiet home with a glass of wine in my hand and a usually hyperactive 1 1/2-year-old yorkie napping away next to me. Sending my pup to Bed & Biscuit has always been a wonderful experience! While we initially chose this kennel for boarding because it's a quick drive from our home, I can't imagine taking her anywhere else now. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and my yorkie is always thrilled to see them and play with other pups during the day. The hours are fantastic and leave us with enough time to drive back into town on a Sunday to pick up our dog when we're gone for a night on the weekend--whereas we'd have to wait an extra day to pick her up when boarding at the vet. For puppy daycare, I'm able to drop her off early enough and pick her up late enough that I have a couple guilt-free hours to run errands and clean house without a puppy at my heels begging to play fetch. read more

I've taken Roma to several places around Austin, and have been generally satisfied. I can't tell the difference in the service between them at all. Roma however, has a completely different perspective, and loves this place. She gets very excited when she goes to school, and comes back pretty worn out. She's gone for the day, as well as stayed for vacation. They are an incredible value, and have a great location. I've moved quite a way away, but have since decided that Roma is worth the trip back. read more

I've been boarding my 2 year old chocolate lab since moving to Austin. Rudy (my dog) is always excited to go in and always leaves looking like he's been on a vacation. The dogs are taken outside to play (in the shade) at least 2 hours a day and if your pooch needs extra attention, they offer additional outside playtime or couch time for reasonable rates. I usually have Rudy bathed the day I pick him up and they do a great job getting all the extra hair out of his coat. His coat shines, he smells good and he doesn't seem to shed for days after. I never worry about Rudy while he is there - I know he is having a great time. read more
