Meijer boast on their "perks" rewards but when at the register never accepts my rewards.. limits…read morethe # of receipts to put in manually/scan to 3. For the little bit of rewards that you received .. really going to limit the number of rewards per month to enter. There are plenty of other stores to shop!!!

You scan your items and pay for them- all on your phone. Here's the weirdness that is this feature at Meijer. Scanned my items with my phone (so far so good) but then to pay for them I had to go to a "self serve" check-out, scan a QR code on the screen, have the employee come up and tell me they are required to scan "3 of your items" (I was buying 4 things)- and then you can scan your credit card at the self checkout to pay. That's certainly not scan and go, nor is it contactless. There is really minimal benefit to scanning on your phone vs scanning all your items at self checkout. The other really unbelievable aspect of Meijer in the time of a pandemic is that they will charge you $4.95 to pickup your order at the store and you can't use pickup for any alcoholic items. Meijer needs to take some cues from WalMart- which has order pickup down to a science. They bring the groceries to your trunk quickly, for no charge, and will bring out your alcohol (with a convenient curbside ID check). I don't want to go through the checkout nor have the front of store staff touching "3" of my items. It's a no- brainer that for a contactless experience- Meijer is not the right choice. Shop and scan was really disappointing.

When I commended them for their compliance, employees told me stories of people threatening legal action and making scenes to the degree that the police had to be called. Epidemiologists and other experts have repeatedly warned that if social distancing and masks are not worn by the public, this pandemic may kill another 100,000 Americans or more. Unfortunately, our federal government has not been actively managing this pandemic like other countries, has been sending mixed messages, and in some cases even encouraging non-compliance. If you stop in a Menards store, please take a minute to thank them for doing their part to keep us safe because they have been dealing with some real a$$holes over the past few months.

The store manager said they could refund my money but there would be a restocking fee of 25% of the purchase price. That was no help at all. I think that if they really wanted to be helpful they could have looked up the item on line and saw what was supposed to have come. Isn't that part of a manager's job? I have spent tens of thousands of dollars at that store and I don't think it's asking too much for a manager to take the time to find out what happened. Butch V.
