Less than one star for real. Ridiculous. I've been standing here at the deli for more than 20 minutes and was told they are open at the deli. No one acknowledged me over here. This is crazy. I was trying to be very patient. It's super early in the morning. I got off of work and went shopping at another supermarket. No problem. The other spot's deli section didn't open til 7am, but the store opened at 6am. Ok. No problem. So after shopping there, I decided to head over to trade fair because I know they're open 24 hours. As I walked in, I asked specifically "is your deli open?" They said YES. So as I'm standing there why is NO ONE serving me? I was already tired because I did my overnight shift at work. I just wanted my item so I could go home. Are you kidding me? The place was empty , there was no excuse. I kept asking, will someone be over here, there was a security guy that was trying to locate someone for me. Other than him, no one seemed to care for my business. That's fine. I will never give this store my business again. I just didn't feel like going to a THIRD store while tired after work. I finally got my stuff, it was what I asked for. It was tasty. I still don't care , they were rude and lazy. Never again. Deuces. Place was empty and parking lot was empty too. No crowd and looked decent. read more

I've had ongoing issues with Trade Fair Supermarket regarding deceptive pricing. Items marked as "on sale" in the aisles consistently ring up at full price at checkout. This forces me to hold up the line while waiting for a clerk or manager to verify the price--which happens almost every visit. On occasions when I'm in a rush and don't catch it, I later find on my receipt that I've been charged more than the advertised price. This feels like purposeful price gouging and borderline theft from customers. It's extremely frustrating and unacceptable. I urge management to fix this pattern of misleading pricing and start honoring the prices they advertise. read more

Up until 09/16/25, I was shopping at Trade Fair almost every day Monday through Friday. I would go there because it is close to my office. On 09/15/25 I bought a bag of salad to eat that same night for dinner. When I got home and opened the bag, the salad was wilted so I took it with me and left it in my car to return to the store after work. When I went to the store, with my receipt and salad, the woman who assisted just said I need to see "if this is from my store and ran over to where the salad was" without even looking at my receipt. She later said that the salad should not look that way and would not listen when I explained that it looked worse because after I noticed it was bad, I did not refrigerate it and had in my car at work. They allowed me to exchange the salad, but I was treated like a criminal over a $5 bag of salad for which I had proof of purchase. I have not gone back and really feel like not returning to the store. read more

WORST SUPERMARKET IN NYC They have expired products that they change the dates to so they can keep selling even after the date. I bought ice cream once and it tasted like it was once melted and frozen again. There refrigerator does not work Half the time and everything gets bad. I called and companies about the ice cream tasting weird and that say I actually bought a few different types they all tasted spoiled , the lady on the phone told me to call the company. If you've read my reviews I try to paint the most vivid picture of the business and mix in some light humor along the way to express my opinion. But there is nothing funny about the meat section at Trade Fair, which will be the focus on this review. With two big dogs that are on raw meat, I thought Trade Fair would have some decient prices on lower grade or less desirable meats. The beef for soup was the cheapest of the options which ran me $4.35 a pound which was significantly higher I expected. As I sorted through the pieces at home it was clear the more meaty chunks were strategically placed on the top to essentially dupe the customer into thinking the package is a decient deal, but its not. In addition, the underneath, underexposed meat pieces were turning rancid which was obvious by smell alone. This trick has left me with a very unsettling feeling towards the rest of the items within the meat department and possibly beyond. The meat industry in this country is scary enough and my findings put a significant worry that will alter my future purchases. read more

I've recently moved to this area with my fiancé, and we grocery shop almost every two to three weeks depending on how fast everything finishes. We do our shopping late in the night so "trade fair" is the only closest 24 hour supermarket so we go here. I'm not too fond of this place reason being they're too pricey comparing to other supermarkets... it's not neat and tidy.. I am come on customers are paying money to buy things you least you can do is clean up the place. This is more like a 0 star rating. i loathe this place. like more than a place with food should be loathed. This was my VERY first grocery shopping experience in Kew Gardens. And it took a few more miserable tries before I severed my ties with this store. One, its pretty big the the number of aisles cramming this supermarket makes navigating the aisles difficult and annoying. Not to mention the HOARDS of people also shopping there. Two, its DISGUSTING in here. Like FILTHY. the Floors, the aisles, the shelves and everything. Yes, their prices are great but I'd rather fork over the extra convenience charge for a store that doesnt give me panic attacks. I was asked to leave my reusable grocery bag with the manager because they were banned from the store... is the store getting thefted so much that they can't permit a shopper to be environmentally conscious?? FAIL! On my way home from the gym, i was in desperate need of milk. I walked into the store... and walked right back out. Massive lines. Massive chaos. Not worth the trouble for a measly quart of milk. My worst experience with this store was when i purchased a pound of stew beef. AS i was unwrapping the package to clean the meat there wedged between two hunks of meat: a dead fly. I wrapped it back up and took it back to the store for a refund. the manager eyeballed the meat and accused me of putting it there. At that point, i left the meat right on his counter and walked out the store. This saddens me as other trade fairs in NY are quite lovely. This one needs a makeover or to be put out of its misery. We come from Germany and do almost every year vacation in Queens. We really like this Supermarket. We only go to Trade Fair for Shopping. The staff is very friendly and helps us always gladly. The selection is very large and the prices reasonable. Everything is clean and clear. Our Favourite is the already finished fried chicken and the delicious pasta salad. This supermarket is highly recommendable and has earned its 5 stars. We are coming again. read more

Was there yesterday and bought fresh lamb ribs and 2lambs heads. After thievery thing was cooked in the oven I noticed dead maggots shells all over the tin cooking pans I used . Doesn't they check there temperature of there meats? Health depArtment definite needs to go there and investigate there fresh lamb meats and other meats they have. TERRIBLE! If you value your health, don't go here. The store looks like nothing has been cleaned for the past 10 years. Their fruits and vegetables section is filled with expired or rotten food. It takes way too long to sort out fruits that actually aren't molding. You can barely get through the aisles because it's packed with customers and about 5-6 workers stocking (it wasn't even early.) You'd think they would put someone in charge of cleaning with that many workers, but no. The meats section is the worst. It is repulsive. A lot of bad, spoiled rotten meat is labeled "MANAGER SPECIAL"...Hmm I wonder why? They will do anything to make money, even if it means putting sales on rotten meat so the customers by it. Again, lots of expired crap labeled as on sale. They will milk EVERYTHING they have for a quick buck, even if it means selling food that expired months ago. I picked up a container of sushi and a huge bug crawled out of it. This place is gross. I'm surprised people say that this place is cheap. It's cheap because most of the groceries that are bought are rotten items labeled as "on sale." The staff is incredibly rude and inconsistent with COVID protocols. I was there this morning and saw multiple staff members by the register with their masks on their chin. There is an employee who was screaming at the top of her lungs early this morning and disturbed the entire store. This is my local supermarket and it's sad that a once so clean and personable community store has now turned into a cesspool of germs and nasty employees. You need to pay special attention to the prices of your items as they are scanned while also keeping an eye on the person packing your bags. Several times I've experience items on my receipt but not in my grocery bags when I get home. Needless to say,the only help you get from the manager is the advice to check your bags before you leave the store, which is virtually impossible because of the long line of customers behind you that the cash register worker begins checking out before you could even get your change and receipt into your purse and move your groceries. read more

Expiration dates mean nothing and the people running the registers are devoid of any life or enthusiasm what so ever. I feel like they are mad at me for wanting to pay for my food. Cracked eggs rule the diary aisle and anything organic is so insanely over priced I would save money dragging it from traders joes to my home. ORGANIC doesn't translate into "Screw the costumer out of every dime!" Here is the kicker, on a rainy night the ceiling was leaking rain water right onto the canned foods. I told a stock boy to tell the manager. The manager then comes over to me and asks if I would like this other tuna in the front display. I told him I didn't want any tuna I wanted him to do something about the leak that was contaminating all the food and the puddle forming int he aisle. I don't think anything was done about this because a few weeks later I returned and it started to rain while I was in the store, and the same puddle and leak was there once again. I live not far from here so I go here often to shop being that its closest to me and I don't drive. Here are the pros - inexpensive produce - wide variety of ethnic foods (if you love to experiment with cooking and follow recipes from the cooking shows or online which I do, they have almost everything) - 24 hours The cons though - the deli department is not very good as far as when you ask for something sliced very thin it's like they don't understand or don't care or don't know what thin means, I can't stand my cold cuts sliced thick. I like them paper thin- just how I was raised eating cold cuts - sometimes they have something advertised as one price but when you go to check out it rings up a higher price. Several times buying seltzer water that was on sale it rang up not on sale & when I said something the lady went to check and came back saying no it wasn't. It wasn't until I was leaving that I went to the section pulled the sign off the display & came back & showed them the sale price - it's always crowded!! - expensive on many things $9.99 for a pack of bacon? This store has some of the cheapest prices around. I will drive out here if i have the time but mostly for their produce. It is so cheap, diverse, and is really fresh. Their prices on produce and their meat can't be beat. They also carry certain products native to Ecuador (and other countries in Latin America) however the prices are steep for those imported items. I refuse to buy anything from their deli as they charge more for Boar's Head than other supermarkets. Their lines are typically short which is a plus. I must also share that not too long ago, their meat department was protesting the work conditions and inflated a huge balloon rat outside of the store that has in various ways tainted my view of the place. HOT MESS. No matter what time of day (or night) you go here, be sure to expect some kind of drama. It is packed..... 3pm, 3am, noon. It's always jam packed, aisles narrow. The only saving grace is the customer service...very nice people working here (when they can speak English). The selection varies.... I base it upon ..... sometimes I can find my 98% fat free Canadian Bacon, Quinoa, or Egg Whites....other times not a trace. This is the closest widely ethnic supermarket to me. I find that on rainy weekday nights it's the least crowded. The aisles are small and at times I can be frustrating to shop. The produce is hit or miss but always fresh. While my local supermarket has limes 2/$1 they have 8/$1 which is a huge difference. Price is another reason I shop here. Now for the meat..I won't buy it here especially beef. Non union supermarkets don't need to sell grade A or better meats. So just keep that in mind when shopping for meat anywhere in NYC. read more

This is a supermarket for people that know what they're doing. This store is not for novice shoppers. What's amazing about tradefair are the unique ingredients. If you're making an Indian or spanish dish, this is the place to be. I would say if you're going for general shopping, the produce and dairy are really good. I live 2 blocks from this place and pref to walk 15 blocks to key food. Overly crowded with the rudest workers imaginable, walk in and you will think you walked into a supermarket in Central America. Fill up your cart and turn your back for a second and it disappears completely, so if you walk in with stuff you purchased outside..... DO NOT PLACE IT IN THE CART OR SAY GOODBYE. You have moms letting their kids run a mock. Forget about buying produce here.... slimy, dirty uncared for produce just sits stacked on top of each other. There is more of a "take it or leave it" attitude that is just plain pathetic. Deli counter, although nicely stocked with a little of everything is so slow you could age a decade waiting for a single pound of cold cuts. Deli clerk is constantly trying to clean which is appreciated, but his motive is not based on your safety, but more getting the hell out of there. Prices are no big deal.... you find better in key food. I would rather trust a nice American chain like Key food than something ran by people who don't give a flying Sh$% for the american consumer. Over all it is a good store, its convenient when you work late and need that late night shopping. But according to their add , its a 24 hr store, but they have these dumb UNIONIZED employees working at the deli department that are only there for a paycheck and don't bother to go the extra mile for the customers, and for those that EMPLOY them, as well as them selves. Example , i went there with my wife all the way from Jersey to get some good ol cold cuts and a little of every thing that the store has to offer. But there was this guy working the Deli department looking at the clock , it was like he was desperate to go home. I asked him politely if he could cut some deli meats for us, but this guy caught the biggest attitude ever, and he said, the fucking deli is closed cant you see me trying to clean so i can get the fuck out of this shit hole, i was shocked at his attitude, so my wife and myself as-well as several other unsatisfied and shocked customers decided to locate a store manager, we went through all the cashiers asking for a supervisor and they were all dumbfounded, like they did not know what the word meant. After 7 minutes of requesting a manager , a customer comes into the store and notices what was happening and pointed out the store manager, so i approached him with several customers and explain what was happening with one of his deli employees, he went over to the deli dept for no more than 30 seconds and comes back and tell us that the deli employee is a union worker and he has no control over his decision. That was a turn off to all of us, a manager that has no control over his employees? that's shocking!!!! that tells me allot about the corporate office and the people they employ to run their business. All i have to say is that i will never ever step foot in this store ever again. They are not worthy of our hard earned money.
