A standard market that is a few minute walk away from family that I was visiting. I had some downtime and didn't want to be cooper up so I walked around a bit and found this place and decided to pop in to see what it was all about and I am glad I did. The negative portion will be said first that was I can get it out of the way and talk about the good. The produce here, from what I was looking around at, is not the best. Many of the fruits and vegetables that I picked up had little bruises or brown spots on them, even if they were very miniscule, they still were spotted. The positivity of this review all falls on the staff and the rest of the place in general. The staff that I interacted with while I was here was very friendly and even one of them went into the back part of the store to help and see if they could find a couple extra cans of the item I needed. He returned with a smile on his face and a few of the product in his hand for me. The prices are also really nice here and I will be back to this market again next time I am visiting family in the area! read more

I've lived in 4 out of the 5 boroughs my whole life. This is truly a Queens staple, but you have to pay attention to what's on sale. Some things may be more expensive than another place, which is why you need to diversify where you shop. Their pre-cut (which is a life saver for busy parents) produce and fruit is extremely cheap and high quality, they constantly have sales weekly on meat and Boars Head cold cuts, even snacks for the kids.. not sure how much more you can really ask from a small local neighborhood market.. even if you want paper towels or garbage bags in a time crunch, they have their own store brand.. Lots of name brand cat/dog food low price sales and detergents.. no complaints and will miss here when I don't live nearby anymore! read more

I was surprised with this "Key Food" after experiencing others in the past. Especially in this area, this particular "Key Food" is usually the 'backup grocery store'. You would think that the prices are excellent, however, they are far from that!! "Aron's" (literally right next door) has nearly every product beat, though it doesn't include some grocery items that "Key Food" has. There is a strange feeling upon entering this place --I'm not so sure why. The cashiers are usually pretty nice, but there's something about this place that is a bit unsettling. As this market is a short 5 minute walk from my apartment, I frequent this place often since it has every American item I could ask for. Produce is a hit or miss with many times finding more "uglier" veggies and fruits, but that actually doesn't deter me as much especially when it comes to veggies since I can just away any parts I find not appetizing and cook the rest. They don't have a huge variety but considering the convenient location and the fact that there's a spacious parking lot, I can't complain! My favorite thing about this place is the bread. For some reason, the giant white bread that's only sold at Keyfoods is some of the best white bread I've ever had haha! I'm Vietnamese and I crave the French baguettes I would normally find at Vietnamese grocery stores back home in TX. Ever since moving to NY, those baguettes are hard to find unless I'm in Manhattan's Chinatown and I was thrilled to find a VERY similar Mexican bread called a bolillo that definitely satisfies my cravings. Most of the time, I end up digging out the soft white interior and dipping everything in condensed milk (a childhood favorite!). The thing about NY grocery stores I've found is that you have to check everything you're picking up. Look for marks, bruises, and especially expiration dates. This is a habit ingrained in me since I was young grocery shopping with my mom so it doesn't bother me too much to do so now. It's not a super high end supermarket like Whole Foods but it definitely does the job in a pinch. read more

My main issue with this particular Key Food is that they don't check expiration dates and I've picked up products (including dairy, like yogurt) a bunch of times only to find they expired months ago. The store is filthy-- from dusty shelves to dirty floors and a horrible smell like used cat litter through the store. Also really long wait times at check out. Just go to Aron's next door and save yourself the aggravation. read more

Key Food - Grocery Near Me - Flushing, New York

This used to have everything you could need. It seems lately the stock isn't being replenished too often. Items including chips, cookies, breads and such. What I like about it is the fish market is a separate entity and the fish is fresh and not too pricey. The meat section is very good here. Always a big selection there and all different types. There are always plenty of cashiers and they are fast and know how to pack correctly. I prefer this location over the one closer to my house as the parking is much better and the store is 3 times the size. read more

Large selection of International Foods, you can find custom brands and ingredients from other countries, to complete your recipes. New management is making improvements to the store with renovations. Deli stinks. You request your cold cuts to be cut very very thin, falling apart thin, and that's not what you get. Female worker was to lazy to cut very thin. Didn't even try to get it thin. I pay a lot of money for these cold cuts. You could at least attempt to give the customer what they want. Next time I will give the meat back. This is not the first time. The old deli guys that used to work there were great. But they are not working there anymore. KeyFood on Union, cuts superbly. Stop and Shop also cuts good. read more

Love this Key Food with so many fruits to choose from!!! I love coming here to pick up my favorite Fuji Apples and Sunkist Oranges and Dole Bananas. The prices are very reasonable and comparable to other similar food markets, such as Associated and C-Town. The drive is not that bad. There are 2 bus lines to get here, Q25/Q34 or Q65. The neighborhood is very nice so don't worry about shopping for fruits late at night! read more

When shopping at this supermarket please be careful and examine your selection.A lot of the produce is rotten or not ripped.The meat selections are not that great I brought some fish from here the smell was so foul it was unbearable.One time I asked for a raincheck and the raincheck was due to expire in a week I told the front in supervisor this is a neighborhood supermarket and y'all are giving me a week to redeem a raincheck unbelievable. read more

The produce and the seafood section are pretty good and the prices are okay, but the selection of foods that I like are very limited. The customer service is horrible. The cashiers are pretty much ran by children who don't have manners. Is it so much to ask for employees to say hello when your checking me out. literally no one greets any customers here. One of the best supermarkets in Queens. It has everything from fresh produce, to seafood, variety of meats, and most other things. Three stars for a better selection of produce and carrying some items that aren't available in other nearby markets. The building itself is pretty run down and pretty much always has been. I'm really surprises that Key Food didnt at least do some minor renovations when they took over. They should really invest in a proper surveillance system instead of taking peoples bags. Its just tacky, they've never tried to take my bags though. I'm sad that the lady with the flower shop is gone and they are now just selling generic bouquets inside instead. I really like this store. While its a large market, it still manages to maintain an earthy neighborhood market vibe. The prices are reasonable and if you are lucky you can find some real bargins in the meat dept on prior-day selections. Also, there is an Arons Market next door so its easy to comparison shop. There is a large fresh-vegtable section, however, prices are so-so compared to a number of other produce focused stores in the area.The store parking lot is tiny, but there is a huge lot next door for the adjacent shopping center. The main attraction of the store is the large variety of foreign items as well as the fresh fish and halal butcher departments. Its a bit of an adventure shopping here. Like shopping at Fairway Market absent the pretense and high prices. Customer service has been excellent at this store. read more

This is my go to grocery store. The have a very good selection of good here. The produce is a little fresher than some of the other neighborhood spots I've been to and there prices are fair. They have a decent sized parking lot as well. The lines move quickly and the workers are generally nice. I like when placed a ethnic ingredients and this place has a while aisle for Afghani and Latin American foods. This is where I bought my pernil for Christmas. I was shocked to see that there is an organic produce section. They had a lot of fruit options but no herbs (like cilantro, parsley, etc)...also no organic peppers and onions. Was surprised to see they had Organic grapefruit, kiwi, pears and fruits of that nature. The business claims they are open until 10:30 p.m. I took and Uber just to get there by 10:19p.m. And To see that they closed down the entrance door and turned off the lights!! Pathetic! This place took over Associated a few months ago. Layout is more or less the same. Availability of produce (the usual with some exotic fruits thrown into the mix every now and then) is the same as well. There are good sales when you encounter them, but sometimes it's because the produce has been sitting around and therefore isn't fresh. This place gets the job done for the simple stuff...but don't expect fancy or a lot of different options for a particular item. read more

Shopped here Saturday for Thanksgiving. Cashier (237 Fabricio) was extremely rude when asked a simple question. He continued to be rude and unprofessional even in front of the Manager. The Manager looked like he could be so bothered and said he would speak with him later. Too bad, this place has a decent selection but obviously has poor management. read more
