Sarah probably made this visit to a dental office the most enjoyable and stress free experience I have ever had. She talked to me through everything she was doing and giving me some comforting words along the way. My initial cleaning went great! Overall they seem like nice people. However, some aspects could be improved. Pros #1 Nice People - Everyone that I spoke with seemed very nice and helpful. #2 Clean and Professional - Everyone wore masks and were conscious of my comfort. #3 They let me listen to music during my cleaning. Their headphones were broken, but I had my own. Cons #1 Deceptive charges - $149 for new patients is fine, but expect them to schedule a 2nd visit with a few days with over $300 cleaning. Be sure to make sure you understand everything upfront. #2 Confusing invoices - After receiving 2 invoices, each for different amounts. I had to call and speak to someone to clarify what I was being billed for. Another thing that I am not sure is a Pro or a Con They wanted to schedule a 3rd visit to speak with the dentist after he looked at my file. I understand how this could be beneficial, however, taking time off of work to go to the dentist 3+ times in a couple of weeks. read more

I just moved here from Florida so needed a new dentist. First I went to Wolfe Dental and was told I had gum disease and needed deep cleaning which is very expensive and only partially covered by insurance. I walked out because my dentist would have told me if I had gum disease. I take very good care of my teeth. I am glad I followed my instincts. Pattie told me that my mouth is normal and that I do not need deep cleaning or to come in every 3 months! What a relief! read more

I'm a high maintenance patient with sensitive teeth and anxiety. Finding an excellent dentist that was sensitive to my own needs and wants was so important. So needless to say, I was leary when walking into Dr Hennington's office for my first visit. Not because of what they may or may not do but doubtful that any dentist could meet all my needs and expectations. Well, I am so pleased to say that Dr Hennington's office exceeded ALL of my expectations and needs beyond anything I ever imagined. From the very first pleasant phone call with Alanna to the dentist chair with my hygenist, Pattie, their office went out of their way to make sure I was informed and comfortable. There wasn't one thing unturned with my hygenist, Pattie. She explained everything before she started, and always explained the "why" to what she was doing. The atmosphere in the office is peaceful and very clean and professional. Almost to the jpoint that I would have stayed longer just to visit I was so comfortable. Dr Hennington and his staff care about your teeth and are excellent at informing and educating the patient along the way. They also care about you and your family...not just your teeth. As I was leaving I was given a beautiful rose in addition to more for my daughters, just because. As others have written in their reviews, I have never had a more pleasant experience and would recommend Dr Hennington's office to anyone. Yesterday had my "deep cleaning" with Shermanse at Trade Winds. Prepared for the siege with headphones, ipod, etc. Then ready for a day of pain with battered gums. All not so. Shermanse was great and gentle, yet brighten my teeth while doing the deep cleaning. No pain or sensitivity afterwards, ate a normal lunch and dinner! The entire crew at Trade Winds are great, from Dr. Hennington, to Angela and Elana. Great team! read more

Spoke with the dentist for 10 minutes was charged $89.00, then sent off to another dentist was never told about this upfront. When your elderly and on a fixed income this should have been said upfront. Sad this happens to often. read more

I was happy about my care and when Dr. Hennington owned the practice. Recently, I had a terrible experience. After full x-rays, I was asked if I was upset about my smile. The doc then proceeded to tell me all the costly work he recommended for me, including adding bone and putting crowns on most of my teeth. The bottom line was enough for a new car. I was upset and angry about this approach. My teeth and gums are healthy. An oral surgeon examined my mouth, took x-rays, and said I don't need any treatment. I won't be back. read more

I have been a patient with Trade Winds for the past 3 years. The office staff is very nice, beginning with Alanna when you walk through the door! I was a patient with a lot of dental issues and lots of anxiety, but I have to say, with Pattie being such a gentle and thorough hygienist, and Dr. Winegar being so practical and personable, and Caitlin his assistant being so sweet and attentive, my anxiety has gone down to nothing. Extremely deceptive practice. I went in there for my first visit and was told i needed a "Deep" Cleaning on my next visit. At the front office they tell me that it has already been cleared by my insurance and that my co-pay was 180 Dollars, which i paid and then did my deep cleaning a month later. A few months goes by and i get a bill from them for another 360 dollars from the visit saying it was denied by insurance. I call the insurance company who said they had asked the dental office 8 times for xrays for evidence of the deep cleaning but nothing received. So i call the dentists office who swears up and down that they sent it, for five months i have to keep calling between the insurance and dentist to get the x-rays sent over and finally they send them over, only for the insurance to say that in no way did my x-rays show that the deep cleaning was warranted. So the dentists office never called my insurance office to pre-approve the cleaning and the cleaning was never warranted. I called the dentists office and left a voicemail say i was not going to pay for a procedure that was not warranted and i was lied to and for them to please call me back. I never got a call back, instead sitting with a collection notice from them. Stay far away from these people, they are swindlers and care more about getting money than actual patient care. read more

Dr. David Hennington has been my dentist for almost 12 years and I can't express how fortunate I have felt to have found a dentist I can highly trust. I was first referred to Dr. Hennington from a wonderful coworker, and have been pleased with him and his staff since then. Dr. Hennington has always been so kind, personable, genuine, truthful, meticulous, and knowledgeable. He is one of the best dentists I have ever been to, as I am allowed to say this because before Dr. Hennington, I had encountered plenty of dentists with whom I had negative experiences. Dr. Hennington's front desk receptionist, Elana, has also been a long time employee with the office, and has always been so kind, accommodating and patient. There was a period of 2 years when I was finishing school, and I did not carry insurance of any kind, and the office collectively found a way to help me financially and made my visits affordable. This is by far the best dental office I have ever seen. As a former registered Dental Assistant, I have certain standards that I need to see met. The team in this office goes above and beyond, treats everyone personably, communicates very well and does a a stellar job with treatment. I can't say enough about the staff and Dr. Hennington at Trade Winds Dental. Prior to becoming a patient at this office I had anxiety issues when it comes to going to the dentist, as do a lot of people. I have very sensitive teeth and would typically need several injections of Novocain just to get me numb enough so that I wouldn't feel the pain. I would begin dreading the appointment at least a week in advance and it would take everything I had not to cancel the appointment. When my hygienist, Pattie, told me of a topical agent that would work as well as the injections obviously I was skeptical, but sure enough it works just as well, maybe even better. Dr. Hennington is kind, patient, knowledgeable, thorough and professional. I feel that he is sincere in his care of all his patients. The start of your pleasant experience begins when you are greeted by Alanna in the front office. She is just as knowledgeable and professional as everyone else in the office and she'll always get your visit started off on the right foot. So after going to this practice now for a couple of years I have gained trust and respect for the entire staff. If you're new to the area and looking for a new dentist I would highly recommend this practice for a number of reasons. If you're not happy with your current dentist give this office a try. Exceptional. I was searching for a new dentist after I developed a dental phobia & no longer could handle being laid way back in a dental chair. My former dentist couldn't accommodate me because she couldn't work standing which is required for patients sitting more upright. Dr. Hennington was one of the recommendations she gave me & I couldn't be happier. He met with me before any dental work & spent time having me try out his chair at differing positions, discussed my needs/concerns & was more than willing to work patiently with me then and thereafter to figure out what would be most comfortable for me. He also is very calm, kindly & careful in his approach. I can't handle numbing gel before injections either & yet any needed injections are hardly noticeable in his hands. He also makes himself easily available by phone. The office staff is friendly & helpful. Probably more telling even than my rating is the fact that I am choosing to stay with him even though he is not in my dental plan & therefore costs more. read more
