I went to University dental 6-8 years too late. I've had such bad dental experiences in the past, I do not know why it took me so long to go see Dr. Niknam. A professional front office, a professional staff can only come from two dentist who are professional. I have appreciated a Non-Return on Investment attitude that made me leave my last dentist who bought into the "maximizing the income from clients" attitude. You will find the couple that own this service truly care about you and your dental health. Flyers and emails that tout other dental practices are, in my opinion, false as most of them we have tried over the years. Most are false in the content. Been going here for 13 years. I've never found a dentist who is both compassionate and very thorough. Dr. Niknam, who I see regularly, has a great conversational bedside manner, while also being skilled and quick with minimal pain. I swapped from Castle Dental to University with hopes of receiving real care, and to be treated with some sort of dignity. University has been nothing less than amazing. I have been going there for quite a few years now, and never let down. The lounge is comfortable if for any reason you have to wait any extended period of time (longest I had to wait is maybe 10 min). Once going into the back, each office has TVs for your entertainment as the dental assistant or dentist does their work. This really helps offset the unpleasant experience of someone cleaning your teeth or more. (Never been a fan of dental work). But everyone has been super courteous. When my daughter was 3 or so, she made her first visit to the dentist (Dr Naik) and he was awesome with her. I don't recall many kids making it through the dentist without developing some sort of PTSD, but my daughter did great. Can't ask for anything else when bringing your own child to the dentist. I have had the opportunity to see both Dr. Naik, and Dr. Niknam. They are both very knowledgeable, and a pleasure to talk to. No unpleasant experiences or anything of that sort. Recommended for the whole family! Trusting this place as much as I do, My mother needed some emergency work done, and I was able to land her an appointment relatively fast, and they were able to give us the best advice in her dental situation. My mother had been calling other places, while they all gave her the "run around" prior to doing any work. Not at University Dental. They listened to what her problem was, made an appointment the next day and got her taken care of. She is doing great since the treatment! read more

After a miserable time at Round Rock Dentists, I found University Dental and was so pleasantly surprised! The staff is courteous, organized and knowledgeable. I was seen promptly, within a day of calling as I was going out of town and already late on my 6 month appt (see my review of RR Dentists). I've seen both the husband and wife duo of the dentists and they have excellent bedside manner, swift procedures and TV's for each chair so you can be somewhat comfortable at the dentist ;-) Who knew a dentist could get 5 stars?? Can't say enough good things about University Dental!! I've been going here for years now and everyone is super friendly and they have always made me feel very comfortable. Mackenzie specifically is awesome and had me cracking up the entire time I was there! She was very personable and it felt more like I was catching up with a friend than getting my tooth fixed. Although Dr. Naik and Dr. Niknam are both incredible and have always done great when taking care of me, I still get a bit nervous when going to the dentist (it's not you, its me lol). We have never been to this office, but if we could give 10 stars for honesty...we would! We were waiting on a refund check and had not yet received it. Today we got it. The envelope was originally addressed correctly to us. We do not live anywhere near the dental office. But due to some error, the check was delivered to University Dental. Instead of just tossing it into trash or writing return to sender & putting it back into mail system, the lady at their office wrote a nice letter and re-mailed it to us directly. We just wanted to publically thank them for their kindness and extra effort. We recently moved to this area and have not yet chosen a dentist. But as of today, if we have dental needs, University Dental is where we will go. Also noticed before we posted our review that they had a 5 star rating. We can believe it. I'm so happy I found my new dentist!!!!!!! I moved out to Austin about a year ago and was extremely sad that I had to leave my old dentist in CA. I have had a NIGHTMARE experience with a dentist in the past and ever since then, I'm weary of trying a new dentist unless someone I know well speaks highly of them. It was to the point where I actually considered flying out to CA every 6 months for my teeth cleaning. I realized that was just unrealistic and impractical. Fortunately, some new friends we made referred University Dental to us. It's very close to the house so I decided to give them a shot. You have to start somewhere, right? The office is very new and clean. I even liked the decor and accent pieces they had. The staff is extremely nice and friendly and make you feel comfortable right from the get-go. I was just there for my x-rays, teeth cleaning and exam. It was the best teeth cleaning I've ever experienced! Their equipment (x-ray machines) are very state-of-the-art and up-to-date. They have this 3-D rotating x-ray that takes a full picture of your entire mouth that I've never seen before. They also do the regular x-rays of your teeth. I have an extremely small mouth, so it makes some things a bit more difficult. IN THE PAST WITH OTHER DENTISTS, I've gotten my face sprayed/wet when they use the water pic or when they polish my teeth, I've gotten fluoride bits on my face and they polish not only my teeth, but my gums and lips. It's not a pleasant feeling because the polish head gets hot and getting bits of fluoride on your face or in your hair is not fun either. AT UNIVERSITY DENTAL, not a single drop of water got on my face whenever they used the water pic. The teeth polishing was the smoothest, cleanest and most pleasant experience ever. I normally brace myself a bit when it comes time to polist my teeth. I was extremely surprised at how this cleaning went. I didn't need a hot wet towel to wipe my face afterwards! Sandra, the hygienist was very friendly and explained everything she was doing just because it was my first time there. Dr. Niknam saw me for my exam and she was also very nice and friendly. I didn't have any work done besides my cleaning but I feel pretty confident that I will love Dr. Niknam's work as well. My friends that recently moved out here to Austin with us are looking for a dentist so I will be sure to refer them here! Going to send my husband now that I know they are great. read more

OK, so its hard to get excited about a dentist, but I am about as excited about these dentists as one can be. In the past, I have had some bad experiences. Dentists who seemed to want to finance their lifestyle based on my mouth. And so I have developed something of a hesitancy about them (which is weird, since my sister-in-law is a dentist!) When we moved to the area last year, I spent a lot of time researching dentists. And there seemed to be a lot of horror stories, especially concerning some of the local "chain" dental places. Since I was looking for a place that could service the whole family, feeling a sense of trust and confidence was important to me. I chose University Dental based on a recommendation, and boy am I glad I did! Their office is beautiful, their staff is friendly and receptive, and they go out of their way to make you comfortable. I like that each room has a movable flat screen to keep you entertained during the visit - this is especially helpful when my son has to go for a cleaning! But more than just the quality of the office itself is the quality of the dentists. They are a husband and wife team, and I have had the opportunity to see both in the year I have been going there. They are both great - they are patient and listen, they take the time to explain everything, and they check in with you constantly during the process to make sure everything is OK. More importantly, they don't try to oversell you on stuff you don't need. In fact, I went in recently because part of an old crown I have sheared off. Rather than trying to sell me a new one, the dentist fixed what I had, and told me that he WOULDN'T recommend I bother paying for a new one right now. How great was that!? If you're looking for a dentist in the Round Rock area, I highly recommend University Dental. You won't be disappointed! I absolutely hate going to the dentist BUT after today I hate it a little less. From the front desk all the way to the dentist everyone was so friendly and nice. When you step into the office the waiting room has a coffee bar to enjoy. Felt more like the lobby of a nice hotel than a dentist office During your time with the dentist they have a TV at each chair. I was able to watch HGTV instead of thinking about what the dentist was doing. The dentists and this office came highly recommended to me and I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more
