I had a permanent retainer that had popped on one side and my previous orthodontist had retired. I went to my main dentist who had reglued, charged me $200 to only have it pop off again 2 days later. I heard good things about him so I called for an appointment. He actually stayed late to see me that same day (due to my work hours) of his own accord, completely removed and reglued the retainer. He was personable, easy to talk to, extremely friendly and made sure everything was perfect before sending me on my way. All this work and he did not charge me a nickel. I met this man only once and he has my complete trust as a patient. And this is coming from a girl that has anxiety about dentists.

I may have noticed 1 or 2 actual Doctors, walking around. There was Absolutely No Privacy, when you have deranged teeth, like mine, which is when you WANT privacy! The Patient chairs were all lined up in the center of a Salon-like atmosphere...looking up, there were branches, as if you were in a jungle (plastic tree limbs attached to the ceiling, maybe?), and when looking out the window, it looked like another jungle, or a side of a mountain! It's going to cost you, A LOT!! I guess, no Dentist is ever cheap. This is where I want to beat myself up, "I should have taken better care of my teeth, when I was younger, AND when my Parents could have PAID!

We first had a consultation at a different office, but honestly, I didn't feel comfortable establishing care there. The staff was kind, but the appointment felt rushed, and we only met with the orthodontist for about five minutes. So, I decided to call Collins Orthodontics for a second opinion, and I'm really glad I did! Brittnee has been incredibly helpful and communicative from the very first day. When we met with Dr. Collins, we immediately felt at ease and trusted his recommendations for our daughter. He's so great with kids! My daughter has been finger-sucking since she was 3 months old, and now, at six, she has completely stopped after her FIRST appointment with Dr. Collins. It was clear she was listening and felt comfortable trusting his advice to help her get a beautiful smile. We started with her expander for a couple of months, and now she's had braces for two weeks -- and she's doing wonderfully! My daughter's bite is really bad so she breaks brackets often. They have been professjonal about repairing them and not making her feel like she's causing them extra work. They are quick! Dont expect to settle in to catch up on magazine reading! They will have you and your child in and out and ba k to school in no time! I also really appreciate that fhey have advil there for the kiddos if they need it. I forget to bring some everytime she gets her braces tightened and i hate sending her to school knowing she'll be in pain all day.

The assistants in the office are very kind, welcoming, and eager to help. They listened carefully to my concerns and even remembered my name after just one visit. Their professionalism and kindness did not go unnoticed. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Barnett was the complete opposite. I initially went in for a removable bottom retainer after my permanent one (which I had for over 25 years) fell off. The assistant created a removable retainer using a scanner, but it never fit properly. I had to return at least three times for adjustments. Each time it was modified, but it continued to fit incorrectly. The retainer was cutting my tongue and the inside of my cheeks and, even more concerning, it began causing my front teeth to shift apart -- creating a gap that I have never had before in my life. On my third visit, Dr. Barnett stated that he did not want me to pay for something that did not work and said he would offer Invisalign instead, comped due to the failed retainer. I made it very clear multiple times that I did not want to pay for another retainer since I had already paid for the first one. He assured me I would not be charged. His assistant was present during this conversation, and when I asked her to confirm what I heard, she stated that she understood the same -- that I would not be charged for Invisalign because the original retainer had failed. At my next appointment, Dr. Barnett attempted to modify the retainer again, further cutting and shaving it down to the point that it had completely lost its integrity. When I calmly mentioned our previous conversation about not being charged for Invisalign, he became visibly upset, stood up, and walked out of the room without saying a word. When he returned, I asked him why he seemed upset. He responded that "everyone expects to get this free." I apologized and assured him I was not trying to offend him -- I was simply referencing what he had previously told me. I chose not to involve his assistant in that moment because I did not want to put her in an uncomfortable position. I left that appointment feeling extremely uncomfortable and never returned. I ultimately had to seek care from another orthodontist and spend $1,000 to correct the gap that developed after wearing the retainer made in his office. Additionally, despite seeing me multiple times, Dr. Barnett never remembered my name and often addressed me incorrectly. While that alone is minor, combined with the overall experience, it reflected a lack of attentiveness and professionalism. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this orthodontist due to concerns regarding communication, professionalism, and integrity.

Scheduling is via phone (I do prefer online but it's okay). They still made the process fairly simple. They also were understanding when I had to initially cancel at the last minute due to my son running a fever. They were really transparent and communicative regarding costs. They contacted me in advance to give me the exact co-pay amount. That's awesome and honestly rare. Everyone is super nice here. Dentist, dental assistant, front desk staff. Friendly and easy to talk to. They even gave me a little pot with daisy seeds because it was Mother's Day weekend. So sweet. There's also a cute play area for kids in front of reception. Who's business is my treatment but mine and the doctors? Aside from the fact that THAT is unprofessional enough, his response is a blatant lie. I received treatment at the age of 14, I am now 21. Following the "quality care" for over a year, I wore my retainers nightly, until I came to the conclusion that they were making my teeth worse. I told Bernuy at MULTIPLE visits, my jaw feels misaligned. He continued to tell me its fine and to keep wearing my retainers. Eventually I stopped. Because why would I wear something that my mouth feels better and more natural without? To live my life with misaligned and uncomfortable teeth? My newfound gap between my front teeth was apparent to everyone IMMEDIATELY after getting my braces off. I told Bernuy continuously that there were issues with my retainers, he offered no solutions. Today, my jaw without my retainers is PERFECTLY aligned, which can draw the conclusion that the retainers were clearly the issue. My teeth were also not bad enough to need braces from the very beginning, hence such short treatment (1 year and 1 month). They should have turned me away upon consultation, as I was clearly just a child who wanted braces because they thought they were cool. And I still have a Gap. So thanks for nothing Bernuy. The first visit was very comprehensive and various treatment options and payment plans were presented. I was grateful that my dental insurance would cover most of the cost. I decided to get the clear Angel aligners. I was awed and a bit overwhelmed by the equipment in the office and the ability to take a few pictures and have aligners made for the year. The front office staff, the patient care coordinator, and the certified dental assistants are GREAT. You can have the best dental work but, staff makes the difference. Always encouraging and happy. And, every staff member has beautiful teeth. That, to me, was a good sign. -- Doc Ak and staff try to make the orthodontist visits a little fun by having monthly contests, raffles, and quizzes. While these activities are probably geared more toward younger patients, I must admit, I did participate in some of them. Prizes are awarded to the monthly winners and are announced in the informative monthly newsletter. Most of the activity with the aligners took place at home. I would take weekly pictures of the aligners in and out of my mouth using the Grin app and then progress to the next aligner after SmileOn review. I didn't think I would get through a years' worth of weekly aligner changes but, here I am, almost at the end of my treatment. Next step - whitening. I sent the x rays to a friend that's a dentist (she lives in a different state) and she told me I just needed the filling replaced. Upon going to get a second opinion I only needed the filling replaced done. When I told the dental office that I got another opinion and was told I don't need a root canal they got very defensive and told me that the other dentist must not know how to actually help you then... Long story short, save your time and money and go to another dentist.
