Joe, truly I do love you but the Ann Arbor store has got to do something about their parking as well as their checkout lines. I don't think there's anything more they can do about their lines, as every lane is open but I'm number 12 in line. And getting in and out of this place is crazy. There is only one way to get your car in and out. We really need a back exit. The only way out is to get on Stadium Boulevard, which is busy on a weekday but a nightmare on a weekend. The food is great and there are so many interesting choices. I bought some seasoned kettle chips that taste like Thanksgiving stuffing. I wouldn't have bought them except they were giving free samples with some cranberry and topping and it was truly very amazing. Everybody is very friendly. And there are employees to help you. I will say, though at the risk of probably getting shamed, that people bring their entire families - so large hordes of people block the aisles. 3, 4 and five children deep, but I guess they enjoy trader joes as much as adults.

Stopped off on our way to dinner to pick up our collection of nuts and wild blueberries for our nut mix snack for during the week. A short wait outside to get in and a short line to check out as well. We buy our nuts for our own mix, just so we can have hazelnut in the mix and wild blueberries too.

Be prepared for the hipsters though, it doesn't matter what TJs I've been to, there are always a group of hipsters.

This shop has various Indian spices , rice( basmati), lentils, tea, coffee, cooking oil, ghee and many more items. Very much like a regular grocery store. The main items though are various Bangladeshi fish (frozen) and meat. Chicken, mutton, lamb, beef are the usual items here. The owner is very friendly and understands the meat quality. They even take preorders if you have big events and need large amounts of meat or fish. They can cut the pieces as you desire. This shop have plenty of free parking space too. The only big issue it the pricing of the meat and fishes. They are quite high in comparison to the Bangladeshi stores in Hamtramck. We always buy fish and meat from Golam but recently we started to buy same items from Detroit area through our Frieda who live nearby and it costs us half the price. This is the only shop of this kind in this area so maybe the higher price is justified.

The exotic fruits like mangos and papayas are obviously shipped in, but they also offer many fruits and vegetables grown locally. Corn on the cob and bright red tomatoes from Michigan were on offer on a recent July afternoon. I have been to many ethnic groceries in the area, but this is the first where I've seen bitter melon, a common ingredient in Indian dishes, available. In addition to produce, they have a meat counter, many dried and canned beans, and an astounding array of snack mixes. Some small flies were buzzing around some of the plums in an unappetizing way, and several of the mangoes and pears were looking dried and past their peak of freshness. Other items, especially the local Michigan produce, looked really good. They were running a special on watermelons the day I stopped in.

My favorites are the Reuben, the Georgia Reuben, and Tarb's Tenacious Tenure. The latkes and knishes are also fantastic. There was a period where the bread was so sharp it felt like my mouth was getting cut up every time I ate there, which honestly became part of the experience. But the past few times I've gone, the bread has been perfect. Zingerman's Deli lives up to the hype.

So while it was chaotic and overwhelming, the workers would hand you a menu, explain the purchasing process and even give you requested samples! Due to trying a sample of their pretzel, I ended buying a bag. An $8 bag!!! It was perfectly crunchy and buttery and very good! I don't even like pretzels and these impressed me. Also got a $9 bag of only 5 palmier cookies. They were good but definitely a splurge. BF bought a small bottle of balsamic vinegar for $23, like wut?! I eyed a jar of salsa for $28 and jam for $16 but damn, everything was way above even farmer's market prices. The sandwiches start at $18 for a small and go to $24 for a large. BF and I got the chicken avocado on challah bread and a new crunchy pickle. Zingerman's does a good job with their pickles! Skins were a little too hard but I love that they're not overly pickled and still crunchy and not too much other seasoning. For $21, the sandwich was not very big and they don't include chips or fries. If I lived closer, heck yes I would come here pretty often to try a sample and buy a very expensive baked good. I appreciated the very friendly and knowledgeable staff. It was giving Trader Joe's employee energy! Parking was a little tricky but not impossible. We came with locals so they knew what was up.
