Trader Joe's continues to shine. I always say that their employees are the nicest , and I know they're playing it up a bit for show, but it's definitely a good show they're putting on! You're lucky if the cashier will even give you eye contact at most grocery stores, so the customer service and their overall friendliness is where TJ excels. I dropped in to pick up a few things to bring for a small gathering in Ann Arbor. I didn't need a ton of items so I was in and out pretty quick but some seasonal items always catches my eye, so I of course bought more than I needed. All in all another solid TJ. read more

I go to Trader Joe's every other week and I've never had a bad experience here. All the employees are so helpful and they are always asking about my kids. They always help me out to the car when I look overwhelmed and they hand me flowers when I'm having a bad day. Their flower selection is phenomenal and I can find a ton of specialty foods at reasonable prices . Like any specialty niche food joint they do have some problems with keeping things in stock at different times but it's not their fault it usually depends on the supply chain. I have had so many good experiences talking to cashiers or working with management or looking for things in the store where people have dropped everything just to help me or to give the kids stickers just to make them smile. I can't say enough good things about Trader Joe's. Definitely a Trader Joe's customer for life. I will say their parking lot really sucks though! read more

Joe, truly I do love you but the Ann Arbor store has got to do something about their parking as well as their checkout lines. I don't think there's anything more they can do about their lines, as every lane is open but I'm number 12 in line. And getting in and out of this place is crazy. There is only one way to get your car in and out. We really need a back exit. The only way out is to get on Stadium Boulevard, which is busy on a weekday but a nightmare on a weekend. The food is great and there are so many interesting choices. I bought some seasoned kettle chips that taste like Thanksgiving stuffing. I wouldn't have bought them except they were giving free samples with some cranberry and topping and it was truly very amazing. Everybody is very friendly. And there are employees to help you. I will say, though at the risk of probably getting shamed, that people bring their entire families - so large hordes of people block the aisles. 3, 4 and five children deep, but I guess they enjoy trader joes as much as adults. read more

I don't know what it is exactly about Trader Joe's that makes me love it so much, but it is my favorite grocery shop experience in the area. I come here even though I have several grocery options closer to me. This store just seems to know exactly what I want to eat? Great food options, fresh and pre-prepared to have options for making a great home-made meal or having support for something fast and easy on busier days. Everything is very reasonably priced. Lots of options of things to keep in the freezer too - I like to be stocked with frozen fish, veggies, and meal sides. It's not a large store, but their selection is top tier. Produce is seasonal. Some food items and products are seasonal. They are always introducing new fun things into the mix. And I love their flowers! A more cost effective way to make beautiful bouquets. The parking lot can be a little jammed at times, but I've never had a problem finding a space. I like to go on the earlier end Friday or Saturday morning and it's not crowded! read more

No matter where you go in the U.S., the Trader Joe's are comforting in their consistency. With a few nods to regional differences (beer, for example), the Ann Arbor TJ's is not much different from the Bay Area TJ's that I would go to (Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda). But now I've relocated to Ann Arbor and the A2 TJs will do just fine. It's got all the usual fair-priced products, staples such as dairy products, canned goods, frozen entrees, and some produce. I say some produce because this is one area where TJs falls short, regardless of where you are. Hard vegetables such as onions, apples, red peppers are ok. The packaged kale, too. But stay away from the green beans! Several people have noted the parking lot situation and I agree, it is a tough one. I went there on a Friday afternoon and ... big mistake. Cars snaking around the lot looking for a space to cram into. I asked one of the crew about this, saying, that what Ann Arbor really needs is a second Trader Joe's. He informed me that TJs had scouted out at least 7 locations on the West side of A2, but each one struck out for one reason or another. Stay tuned. This is a very good Trader Joe's with a good selection of products. They had a great display of cards near the entrance that caught our attention before moving into all of the great food products and produce. They had a nice sample of the Ube Joe-Joe's cookies out, with a very friendly staff person serving them. It was a good choice for samples in our case, because we were unfamiliar with ube before this. Check out staff were funny and courteous and got us through the line and out the door quickly. The infamous Trader Joe's parking lot concept was in full effect, but we were able to snag a spot and get in and out. read more

We need a Trader Joe's in Toledo. If you go here on a weekend the parking lot can be a madhouse. Once inside you are welcomed by an assortment of fresh cut flowers and plants. They have a unique selection of grocery items. Expect to pay a little bit more than your chain grocery store. Cheap wine, delicious bottled yellow curry, and unusual snacks are a few of my favorite things to buy. The cashiers are always incredibly friendly and efficient. I stopped by the local Trader Joe's today. It's out of my way so I do not go there often. Every time if go to Trader Joe's all I can think of is unnecessary fancy Aldi. I do enjoy not having a security chain and my cart and they do not charge me for bags, I struggle with paying a bit higher of a price for a very similar generic item. I have nothing specific against this Trader Joe's. They have a clean store with a very friendly staff. BUT as a person that frequents the local Aldi, I could do without Fancy Aldi. read more

This is my Trader Joe's. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Given that this is where I spend the bulk of my grocery dollars, I feel like I have to give it the full five stars. I've long loved Trader Joe's since discovering the store while living in California. Then when I moved to Albany, NY and there was no Trader Joe's, I realized how much the unique products that line the store's shelves are simply irreplaceable with other options. If that sounds like a hollow boast, pleas allow me to illustrate. There is no better whole grain pasta than the organic 100% whole wheat spaghetti and fusilli sold under the Trader Joe's brand. Full stop. Others are gritty, or hard, or turn to mush when cooked. This product is a triumph, and a value to boot. I have found no frozen string beans that can compare to Trader Joe's frozen French green beans. Giant bags filled with long, super slender beans, preserved at their peak of freshness. Sure, you can get better cultured French butter than the one sold under the TJs label. However, given the low price, there is no excuse to grill a cheese sandwich in anything less flavorful than this delicious stuff. These are just the tip of the iceberg. My kids love the peanut butter and cheese sandwich crackers for snacks. Barbara's cereals are a fraction of the price charged by the big grocery chains. During the winter they have a consistent supply of organic gold and sweet potatoes (unlike the big grocery chains). Have you tried the frozen lamb vindaloo? Not only does it pack a punch but even when reheated in the microwave it has ridiculously tender and delicious pieces of lamb. How do they do it? Anyhow, I'm a big fan. Every Trader Joe's has crappy parking. It's part of the business plan. But the warm smiles inside, along with all the delicious treats, and the low prices, make it a weekly stop. Okay. Except during the height of the pandemic when I was just doing curbside pickups elsewhere. But those were dark days to which I sincerely hope we do not return. read more

Huge fan of Trader Joe's. I have been a shopper with them for years. Usually I frequent the Northville store however in the last couple of years having to be in Ann Arbor for other reasons. I have found myself shopping at this location more. Do I like it better? No, but it is more convenient. They do carry liquor here which is definitely a convenience that I can grab more things that I need in one location. This store seems smaller than the Northville location. Not sure if it is or it's just the layout. One thing I have noticed is that they are also always out of things that I need at this location. I'm assuming they get more customers at this store. It is pretty much always crowded when we go. The staff is pleasant and friendly just as you would expect. Great store. read more

I really have nothing bad to say about Trader Joe's. Granted they're always seeming to have people out with a pallet out stocking something at all times of the day making it a bit hard to get around, but that's really a first world problem. I'd much rather have stocked merchandise than empty shelves! The only thing I'm not a fan of is the traffic and parking in the area. It's a bit hard to get in and out of that little spot, but I remember the one in Northville used to be much harder before they moved. Now that I think about it, the ones I went to when I lived in Phoenix and Las Vegas were a pain to get around too! Other than that and them discontinuing a couple of my family's favorites (black bean taquitos and the Mexicaine Quiche) I'll always be a huge TJ's fan! read more

Just like every TJ store, the parking lot and store is too small and people are crazy. There is only one way in and out of the plaza. The store was busy and I expect other shoppers to cut each other off, but it's unacceptable for staff to cut off customers. On the positive, they had lots of cashiers open. read more

By far one of my favorite places to shop. You can't utilize it as a main grocery store but it's one you want to use often. We drive up from Toledo to come here since it's the closest one. I give TJs a 10 out of 5. But this parking lot gets a 1 so combined this TJs gets a 3:5. It was difficult getting in and parked, very very busy. I thought a fedex truck was going to cause an accident and we had to wait forever while the driver attempted to make a left out of the shopping center. The products were amazing as always. Recommend the ube yogurt covered Jojos (get 2 boxes), the zhoug sauce in a tub (get several), the salted Carmel biscotti, limone alfredo sauce, brown sugar oat milk creamer, goat cheese Gouda wedge, Bambas (get several) and I'm kicking myself for not getting the chocolate covered Bambas! This is a excellent place to shop. What is the deal with the parking situation here? Hard to believe that this is where Whole Foods used to be before moving into their bigger store down the road. Trader Joe's is a great place for staples, bulk food, frozen foods, heat and eat dishes, and especially reasonably priced wines. VMMV with fruits and vegetables. They do not carry every douchy wine label but their selection is diverse and their house brands are worth trying. Idiot drivers: Do not be so quick to throw up the middle finger when you come into the lot the wrong way and various people try to point it out! You stay to the right. If I were on a desert island and could only take 5 things from Trader Joe's with me... 1) Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips Highly addicting and hard to put down. My all time favorite snack! And comfort food. The tortilla chips are generously coated with nacho cheese powder. In my opinion, better than Doritos. I don't know if it's extra salt, seasoning, or cheese, but each chip is just so flavorful without being overpowering! 2) Broth I use their broth in almost every soup I make at home. Tasty and adds more flavor! I love their chicken and beef bone broth. 3) Hold the Cones Mini ice cream cone! Super cute and makes me feel less guilty about indulging in dessert. Chocolate coated ice cream is also one of my favorite desserts! 4) Frozen garlic cubes Mincing garlic is an absolute chore. Takes forever and makes my fingers smell :( These garlic cubes are a life saver and really help to speed things up in the kitchen! I usually pop them out into the skillet as is once I have my cooking oil heated up, and prep the rest of my food as usual. 5) Sparkling clementine water We are on a desert island after all, but why not add a little pizzaz and make it bubbly! I love adding flavored sparkling water to juice once in a while. I recommend mixing it with Trader Joe's cans of mango juice! read more

One of my favorite stores to shop at always. I also didn't know they are owned by Aldi's! Makes sense since the concept is almost the same for both stores. I love to come and buy good quality food for a good price. The fresh veggies, quality meat and freezer items make this my go to place to shop for groceries 80% of the month. I have gotten to know some of the cashiers and I love the staff that work here. I've asked about items and they always have an answer for me or find someone who can answer. The only downside of the location is the parking lot. It can get crowded quick and parking can be a pain, but it's worth the trip to me! read more

As always, the staff here, are just amazing! The gentleman that helped me today was so sweet. I wasn't going to bother him, because he was walking with purpose, he immediately picked up on my looking helpless He went out of his way to stop and ask if I needed help. "Yes! Looking for the vegetable birds nests I have heard so much about!" He ran right over to the product and proceeded to see if there is anything else he could help me with. As I walked outside, he was working the door, and yell out to me, "Did you get your birds nests?" So sincerely kind. I really appreciate these kind gestures. Been able to come in to The Ann Arbor Trader Joe's a couple times on my Michigan visit. Store is clean and well stocked with all of my favorites. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Parking is a challenge if you catch the strip mall or store during a busy peak of the day. Store layout is similar to others but there seems to be it bit more aisle room to browse than my OKC, OK Trader Joe which is a plus. Where do I begin? Let's start with how kind all the workers are! They stand at the front doors and tell people when to come in. Due to covid they only allow so many in at a time. This company actually complies with the rules/laws of what companies are supposed to do during this pandemic. No other grocer, that I know of, did this. They give you a shopping cart and off you go! The employees are located everywhere around the store so if you need anything just ask. They love to help! Not once have I ever been brushed off! One special thing I'd like to share about Trader Joe's I recently found out about. I buy my dogs treats from here. It's the only ones he will eat! Two weeks ago I bought five packages of them and all of them were stale/hard as a rock. When I asked the customer service if they could replace them, they said, "Absolutely"! No need to bring in the item(s) it's an honor system. Who does that anymore? Trader Joe's does! That's WHO! Well that completely won me over. Now whenever I get something that isn't up to standards, or something goes back, I go right to the customer service and tell them and they fix the problem. Now, go share this "hidden secret" with others! That way they will frequent your local Trader Joe's. The best grocery store in town. Edit:I forgot to add that Trader Joe's has a beautiful selection of flowers at amazing pricing that last longer than any other flowers I've purchased. I only get flowers from here! The battle of the parking lot. If you have the patience to find a parking spot, shopping at Trader Joe's is amazing. Fresh flowers, seasonal plants, greeting cards, baked goods, prepared meals, beer, cheap wine, snacks, and regular grocery stuff is what you'll find. Also, since I've recently started attempting to go Gluten-free (not by choice, but bc the doctor), I'm excited to find so many GF options here! Like the chicken tikka masala (frozen section)! Trader Joe's is the ONLY PLACE I GROCERY SHOP. once you start going here you instantly know what you been missing out on going everywhere else. Almost feel like a grocery snob... I roll my eyes as I pass Kroger, Meijer and all those generic stores the sub class shoppers frequent. They have everything you need but all more healthy, more hip, and more worldly options. They sell these things called cinnamon brooms they always sell out of, but I but about 10 when I'm there and the WHOLE HOUSE smells like Christmas for months... and my car... yes I keep a cinnamon broom in my car lol.
