We counted on the Post for so many meals during the pandemic and I have done delivery multiple times since when my husband was out of town and I am no longer driving, that we felt the need to go in person today. One of our favorite things during the pandemic when restaurants could reopen was picking up their in house chicken pot pie. It's my husband's absolute favorite chicken recipe which I used to make myself. Though I am unable to make it now that l have lost a lot of vision and not a single one we have bought elsewhere was sufficient until we ordered from The Post Boulder. After a short time it became too labor intensive for the Post to make in house back then with limited staff so they contracted with a pie facility in Denver. Compared to their own it was merely adequate so we moved on to there other in house specialties. As we were ordering gold specials for Sunday!s big game, I saw that the daily specials now include Chicken Pot Pies Thursday's so we went to try it. This ficus a personal size freshly made this morning it was nice to have for a meal with a side salad. But though good, it was not as hearty as the one we loved 5 years ago. Staff was friendly and attentive and my husbands favorite beer (El Korn) was on tap and my iced tea was customized perfectly . We even brought most of the salad home as it was a large serving for a lunch. We'll be back on Sunday for our wings and other treats that we need to pick up. And we can come back again for a lunch or dinner as the have more items for people like me who cannot eat fried chucked, with their grilled chicken or salmon. read more

Surprising from a place that highlights its chicken. The waffle was just ok. I thought the sausage crumble would be a great add, but the meat wasn't very flavorful. Great cheese burgers and fun atmosphere. The three stars is for making reservations in advance and hostess giving us a crappy table. We asked if any of the 4 empty booths were available and she said sorry they were reserved. Huh we made reservations though. She just said sorry again and left. Then the booths weren't used the entire time we were there. Thats frustrating. Our waitress was attentive at the beginning but then just never came back. We had to go find her to pay our bill. I went in thinking I would be able to order off the lunch menu since it was 1:00pm but on weekends they only serve food off the brunch menu. Disappointed I couldn't try the cauliflower wings since that was my main reason for wanting to try. I ordered the lions mane mushroom burger and got the sweets & beets as my side. Our server didn't know what the side was made of when I asked, guessing pickled onions, but it was just roasted sweet potatoes and beets. I dream about The Post whenever we come to Boulder. Let's start with the cauliflower appetizer with hot honey sauce. Oh my goodness! It's almost illegal. And when my teens eat it up you know it's that good. Next the chicken. We always order extra chicken tenders to take home and eat cold out of the fridge the next day because it is just that good. Big, juicy and the perfect "breading" - because they're actually gluten free! Yes Celiacs, rejoice! A place that is 98% gluten free that you can safely eat at AND indulge. Came back again this year, because we loved this place so much the year before! We got the deviled eggs again and shared a 5 piece chicken tender meal. Both were as remembered - delicious! Loved it! My son is gluten-free and dairy-free and they were able to make their amazing gluten free fried chicken (which usually has buttermilk) dairy free for him. I had to try it this place because I heard they are known for their fried chicken so I had to come and try it. I got the fried half chicken with a choice of one side (pueblo green mac and cheese) and it came with a cheddar biscuit. The fried chicken was gluten free and it tasted awesome! You know it's cooked right when the breast piece is tender and juicy and cooked perfectly! The pueblo green mac and cheese was good but it was just a smidge spicy. The happy hour drink specials were pretty typical, if I recall. Maybe something like $1 off draughts. *Edit: The GM of the Post informed me that they have 2-for-1 draught beer when it's snowing. The dining room is large and clean. It was a bit dark for my preference, but that's probably just me. No surprise here: the wait staff was very attentive since there weren't many customers. I really enjoyed my dinner at The Post. I came with friends and ordered family style. I highly recommend this to try multiple things. The chicken was crispy and yummy! We got brussels sprouts and deviled eggs as appetizers to share. Both were great! Side highlights include Fries (great seasoning), Collards, and Waffles. The drinks were fine. My drink tasted more honey than anything so I couldn't get the Jasmine in the gin flavor which is why I ordered it. It paired ok with the Nashville Hot chicken so that made it work. We shared the Nashville Hot Chicken tenders with fries and a half order of slaw. The chicken was hot and juicy and Spivey as it should be. The only reason for less than 5 stars on the food is that the breading was a bit thick. The slaw was delicious as you could actually taste the ingredients and it wasn't covered in a heavy dressing. (I'm not even that big on slaw but thought I should have some kind of vegetable that wasn't fried). When you want fried chicken and a cozy place to go, this is a go to spot. read more

Service was unacceptable, restaurant was half full, still waited 30 min to be seated, people who came after us was seated before us, server came and got drink order and came back 10min later(check cctv) didn't take our order, came back 5 min later to take the order, food came outdo min after ordering. To give benefit of the doubt, they seemed short handed in the kitchen but bar and severs were fully staffed and they still couldn't clear off tables and get it prepped in a timely manor. We stoped in for a quick lunch. They had a computer glitch and lunch became longer than we expected. Our server had no idea how to do her job and she was very forgetful made mistake after mistake in attending to her tables and was more concerned about petting dogs that came by then doing her job But then the managers STEVE showed up and made the experience a whole lot better. He explained the glitch in the computer system quickly ran out of appetizer and our food was up quickly.
